  1. Bell is as raw as raw can be. He may be athletic, but he's a late bloomer coming from a microscopic college program, and has zero meaningful NFL snaps. Walker is big and slow. He's more of a guard, really. If he's playing at LT, Joey Porter is going to have legendary games and I doubt Belichick or Ryan won't exploit the open-door policy with a huge grin on their faces. Remember, some fans here say Peters was the worst LT in the NFL last year, yet Walker stayed on the right side and Bell stayed inactive all season last year. Now, they are the answer?
  2. I see us going with the next Mike Williams, Andre Smith. They'll drop serious coin on the guy and he'll decide he doesn't really like football as much as twinkies and donuts.
  3. Yes, they got T.O. for one year and that same year they will be trying to totally rebuild their offensive line.
  4. This can't be true. Everybody knows you only need 1 DT in a Tampa 2.
  5. "The AFC East is a tough division and we just don't have the players to be on top right now..."
  6. Nope. We prefer to sneak up on the salary cap minimum slow and easy like crawling through a minefield.
  7. And, yeah, Andy Reid clearly knows nothing about football.
  8. Maybe they promised him that he could block for himself...
  9. Nice play with the straw-man. Not.
  10. After being subjected to the "hard ball" lesson and essentially getting a big "F U!" last year, it's likely Peters wanted out of Buffalo and his demands were over the top to precipitate just such a trade. How do I feel about it? I'm glad for him. He gets out of NFL Siberia, gets a contract more inline with his value, gets respected, and joins a playoff caliber team. As far as the Bills, it's just another mark in the sordid 50 year history of the Bills front office, Blunders 'R Us. Sticking it to your best player at one of the more valued positions coming off his best season in this day and age of free agency is something a joke organization does, with a complete lack of understanding about how to attract and keep elite players.
  11. Hard ball, baby! Way to go Brandon! Saved some cash and the Bills have no left side of their offensive line. On the bright side, maybe Terrell Owens can play LT. They must be really high on/with Fitzpatrick...
  12. I thought Madden had retired about 15 years ago and they just used tapes of his canned stock phrases and cliches.
  13. You really think GMs call each other to offer ridiculous trade scenarios on draft day like some naive fan? "We'll swap our 1st round picks with you if you throw in Peyton," sorts of wet fantasies? Especially now that a team's time on the clock is further diminished. Who has time to listen to some goofball offering a box of rocks for your castle? We all know these guys all have the draft points chart and they all know what it will take roughly to move around on draft day. The trades happen if both teams agree to the framework of the deal -- they have to consider many other factors, including the competition's moves, their draft strategy and board, team needs, etc. before blindly pulling triggers on deals. Some GM that calls his peers with nothing but bull to offer will eventually just not get anyone's ear on draft day and work himself right out of the game and a job.
  14. It would surprise some folks if the Bills took him at #11. Not a reach though.
  15. Ross Tucker was saying there were about 8 teams in the top 12 that wouldn't mind trading down... "It ain't happening! Simple supply and demand. It ain't happening!" Ross for boss.
  16. Well, if the Bills get rid of him, it softens the blow if people rip him down.
  17. Dude, it's a bad economy. They can't even find the bigger crayon button in Paint.
  18. Don't drop your soap, dude.
  19. Can't find a bigger crayon?
  20. He's the next Mike Williams. His comedy routine is a bit different from Mike's but funny nonetheless.
  21. It's not like Gonzalez has vetoed a trade to the Bills twice already...
  22. "Why'd they let you go, Pat?" "'Cause they're stupid." And, yes, there were people that applauded the shrewd move by TD and the guys still here: Why pay a "fat, lazy slob who had a down year" what he is worth when one can plug any random guy into his position? Why indeed.
  23. But, but, but ... if the Bills get a deal done with Peters then they'll lock up a fat, lazy, stupid quitter (I read that here) to a long term deal! <Wring hands>
  24. There was a GM on NFL Radio not too long ago that basically put it that LTs are more valuable than QBs in the NFL. My take of what he was saying was that there are so few truly great QBs in the game, that it made more sense to him to pay and keep an elite LT and try to keep your slightly above average QB in one piece. Constantly chasing the next superstar QB is a recipe to a struggling franchise as it tilts at windmills. It has been shown that great teams win Super Bowls and their QBs can be high draft picks, low draft picks, guys from NFL Europe, Arena League, free agents, or whatever that just complete the overall mosaic.
