Did you flip a coin or roll dice for this answer? That's true. People would call you a negative Nancy, for starters. What number between 1 and 10 am I thinking of?

So, you want Tim to speculate on suppositions based on fantasies about what might have happened in a parallel universe? Tim must be a god!

It wasn't a question about Peters specifically. So, your answer is inapposite in the sense of how Walker plays. But, from what I recall, Edwards did miss games last year and ended the season with concerns he may need surgery on his throwing shoulder. It's a stretch to think that working behind a line that has never played 1 NFL snap together will absolutely, positively be a huge improvement simply because the big guy who held out won't be there. As far as it goes, for this year it seems like you could, possibly, grade this trade by the matrix of how Peters and the Eagles do vs. how Walker and the Bills do. If both teams do great, then it was a good trade for both. If both teams suck and their LTs suck, then it was a bust trade for both. If the Bills do great and the Peters sucks, the Bills make out. If the Eagles do great and Walker plays like a journeyman, then the Eagles get the edge...

Anyone else concerned about the DT position?
Sisyphean Bills replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I thought he took a promotion and went to Houston. -
Doesn't it also depend on if they're wrong and Langston Walker gets abused and we end up starting Fitzpatpatsack for a bunch of games?

Only 1 CB?! WTF?

Bills to run no-huddle next year?
Sisyphean Bills replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schonert was hired to keep the continuity in the offense. Apparently, that's why they are changing the offense this year to something he is more comfortable with. -
Bills to run no-huddle next year?
Sisyphean Bills replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't recall either the Bills or Bengals version of the hurry-up offense being run with a number of rookies, 2nd, and 3rd year guys in the starting lineups. Now, at least our WRs are veterans. -
Chocolate or vanilla?

He'll be 70 years old this year. Maybe he wasn't looking for a grinding 20 hour a day job.

Mike Williams Comeback Tour 2009
Sisyphean Bills replied to N.Y. Orangeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe the Bills should pay some more Texas lineman top dollar. -
He's a scout, not someone with a piece of the steering wheel. I assume he would report to Don Majeski.

But, I thought the team had no talent.

It takes an excellent management team to get the staggering ROI like the Bills had on their 2006 re-tooling.

You need to tell Coach Dick to get his facts straight. His facts do not agree with yours.

Byrd is but one example. Dockery? McCargo? IQ? Flush Royal? Backup QB? RBs with reefer madness? Ellison? Kelsay? A second WR?

Definitely true, Lori. Like Tim said, some people don't even bother to finish reading the title of article, let alone the content, before going off. And then others just see the first guy throwing a fit and assume he was "right". The snowball effect of the retard rodeo. Not sure how much one can truly care about it. It happens. Hasn't nearly every writer and sports analyst been ripped on this forum at one time or another?

Let me type GG's question slowly, so you can follow along. 2006 was DJ's first year in Buffalo. He had direct input into exactly how he wanted to set about fixing the "mess" that Donahoe left behind. GG is asking why the players aquired in 06 by Jauron are now be jettisoned in 09 by the current brain trust. For example, the reason given by many fans for the Byrd pick was that it "addressed a hole at FS" -- a hole that was filled with Ko Simpson and Donte Whitner, on the current roster, and top picks in the 06 draft. In other words, if the Bills are now replacing Jauron's picks because they are "holes" then what evidence do you have that this time around it will be any different? How is it that Jauron never has any talent but gets direct input as to his players and replaces the players he was involved with picking up in the first place?

So, when I say talent is fairly even and every team has issues, you say F*** YOU! (I'll assume you don't remember the old days when coaching wasn't as integral to the game; but, here is a hint, they didn't always wear headsets and call all the plays from the sidelines or upstairs.) But, when Ramius says the same thing, you agree.

Maybe they should drum their heels on the floor faster and louder along with the screaming. The cacophony might make any and all potential problems go away.

In theory, I like this pick. Having a guy that can run routes and catch a football at TE will be a shock to Bills fans who haven't seen it in a long, long time. But, he's got some development ahead of him, so will have to be worked into the lineup most likely. By the time this guy starts hitting his stride as a future Hall-of-Famer, T.O. is for sure gone, etc. And, with the OL being blown up this year and re-built brick by brick, the Bills will probably be forced into wanting a TE that they can use in their protection schemes to help out with the inevitable breakdowns up front.

The size thing is a red herring. He fits our Tampa 2 system as an OLB, because we want OLBs that can play zone pass coverage & cover a space and, like the Colts, don't mind smaller players on our D. Now, everyone does not need to love the system, but it is the system we're using, until Dick and Fewell are sent packing anyway.

John, all teams in today's NFL are watered down. The expansion, the smaller rosters, the turnover in front offices and coaching staffs getting faster and faster, free agency, the salary cap, as so on have all watered down the product on the field greatly. On the positive side it has evened the playing field. Last year's Super Bowl teams were not the "greatest teams ever". The Cardinals were 2-4 to close out the season and didn't win over a team outside their division since before their bye week in October, before they got hot in the playoffs. They were a very flawed team and they nearly won the Super Bowl. But, having said that, it is not a coincidence that the most successful teams in the NFL have been associated with certain coaches and regardless of which team that coach was coaching or who his QB was. Certain coaches are just plain better than other coaches and this game has become one of coaching and juggling of short- and long-term team management.
