Hargrove Signed By Saints
Sisyphean Bills replied to LynchMob23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What purpose did disclosing this serve? Even if Hargrove gave it his emphatic approval, why go there? Brown comes off as a bitter, petulant Bills fan lashing out whimsically at the latest former player that has moved on. -

Shocking, considering how many teams are switching to the Tampa-2 this year.

I never wrote a thing about Derrick Brooks. Nor did I write a thing about gaining and losing weight. Your making sh-- up. Kudos to you on that. Yes, I deleted the original post because tools like yourself were going out of your way to misrepresent what I did say. It's not really any mystery to me why you would do that. The original post was actually intended as something somewhat light-hearted. The Bills are replacing one small LB (one that the deep thinker such as yourself expertly analyze as "sucks, always will suck"), a guy that the current regime brought in here with another LB that played at 220# (to which another poster "corrected" my post that he did not play at 220#, but he played at 220# last year). I wasn't the one that said "Ellison sucks". Heck, I didn't even say Pisa wasn't an upgrade. I merely pointed out that some people criticized Ellison for being on the small side and that Pisa was, at his max weight (which he didn't play at last year), only a couple of cans of beans bigger. -
You, of course, know that the Detriot Lions "0-16 Dream Team" of 08 ran the exact same "small, speedy Tampa-2" defensive scheme.

Would you rather have Steve Spagnolo or Perry Fewell?

Do you feel smarter when you make sh-- up? -
Why Dockery became expendable.......
Sisyphean Bills replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chambers was busy counting sheep, apparently; but, he is "an upgrade". As for Oman, we can trot out the rookie trump card excuse. -
Bills are #22 according to CNNSI

I guess by "manageable", King meant we play 4 teams that he had ranked lower on the 16 game slate. And I seriously question that Buffalo will have the firepower to stay with NO in the first month of the season. -
What's up with Moulds' smart mouth?
Sisyphean Bills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, yeah, some things have changed. Things change every year for every team. That doesn't mean every team sticks with a coach who has 1 winning season in 8+ because they've made some bad choices in recent years. -
Maybe you could start a thread about the Hitler video. Just sayin'.

What's up with Moulds' smart mouth?

The trouble is the exact same people were saying that same thing 12 months ago. It's always ground hog day for Jauron. -

So, you think Jauron's losing ways are compatible with T.O.? Or is it that he's a player's coach like Wade Phillips? -

Is this true? 0-6 against Belichick. Anybody remember this? http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=2934...&week=REG11 Thurman Thomas called out this coaching staff last year and got ripped on by some as well. Thurman became a bad player overnight in some people's view. -

The huge inferiority complex is alive and well. -
Peters was the best T in the division bar none per those ratings. Astonishing for a guy voted to the Pro Bowl, I know. I heard Trent Edwards explain it this way, "You can't just go out and replace a guy with the talent of Jason Peters. It can't be done." (That was last week.) The best lineman overall was Nick Mangold. I think some people around here wanted him, fwiw.

Very revealing McCorner interview
Sisyphean Bills replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The answers are terse. -
It's actually not all true. The truth is that Hangartner was the 6th lineman. That doesn't mean "he sucks" nor would an intelligent person take that to be some sort of harsh "criticism". It is nothing but the fact of the matter -- Hangartner was never better than 6th on the Panthers line. Like you say, the Panthers were never going to promise him a job as the starting C like Jauron did. He's a good player, but some people want to make out that he is some highly coveted world-beating stud -- not unlike Derrick Dockery and Tuten Reyes in years past.
-
Saying Hangartner is better than Fowler and IQ is faint praise. If you truly read Hangartner's bio, it says that he was primarily inactive his rookie year of 05. He got his 15 starts in 06 after Justin Hartwig, the guy just signed as a UFA to be the starter, went down to injury in the first game of the year. In 07, he started the last 4 games at RG when Mike Wahle got injured and couldn't go -- Hartwig played C all year. In 08, he got starts at LG when Travelle Wharton got injured and when Jordan Gross got injured. He started at C when Ryan Kalil, a second year guy, got injured. So, Hangartner is not inexperienced, that is true. But, he was never more than the 6th man and special teams player for the Panthers, who drafted Ryan Kalil to be their starting C in 07 and signed UFA Justin Hartwig to be their starting C in 06. I like that he brings intelligence to the table; that may give the coaches some confidence, unlike IQ, to do some things offensively that they couldn't last year.

The interesting thing about Butler is that his rushing average was second highest on the team despite a low overall grade. That suggests that he was pretty good when he was on, but he had more than his fair share of breakdowns. Moving Walker to LT when his weight (abundance) and (lack of) speed made him the worst lineman overall in the running game seems like wishful thinking. Trent better up his life insurance. Fitzpatpatsack may see quite a bit of P.T., and after leading the Bengals to the worst passing game in NFL history last year, that might not be a good thing.
