  1. Like they said last year, our defense is a 4-3, so we really don't see the 3-4 except in games.
  2. Sure he would. He'd be typing his resignation.
  3. Is Owens going to be kicking field goals like Chad The-football-player-former-known-as-a-johnson?
  4. It still rankles me that some newspaperman called Trent, "Captain Checkdown".
  5. Worried that your fandom will be challenged for being a negative Nancy, yes.
  6. The Packers aren't any good really. They just have a great QB.
  7. Hangartner may not be the biggest guy, but he's smart and works hard and he's a guy we targeted this offseason.
  8. Why are you blaming the coaches? It's the QB, you big goofball. (j/k on the goofball thing, of course)
  9. You don't mess with perfection. On Friday.
  10. Our #1s aren't that bad really. They just need better talent around them to look better.
  11. It really is tough to win in the NFL. Well, unless you are the other guys.
  12. But, but, but, Seth told us there is a lot of talent.
  13. A Jauron team is a well prepared team at least.
  14. True. Hopefully, Fitzpatpatsack will be able to run the offense well when Trent misses his string of games this year.
  15. It's tough to win on the track.
  16. Pure nonsense. First, the coaching changes did not all occur under the same circumstances. Mularkey resigned because he felt the front office reorganization wasn't going to allow him to be successful. Williams refused to sign an extension and worked to the end of his contract. Phillips was fired for insubordination because he refused to fire his assistants as Wilson ordered him to do. And, Jauron was given a 3 year extension after three losing seasons. Second, it is a non sequitor that the only problem with coaching is that changes have been made. Bad coaches don't coach long careers because they are bad coaches and don't deliver a winning product, not the other way around. Third, all coaches are not identical. Fourth, because coaches are not identical, it does matter which coach is hired, and if a bad coach is hired and the losing continues then the front office needs to have enough sack to be able to admit the mistake and enough football acumen and expertise in the business to hire a better coach that can get things headed in the right direction. Finally, a new coach does not necessarily mean gutting the roster and starting over from scratch with brand new systems. Tomlin did not gut the Steelers roster and bring in the Tampa-2. On the other hand, Jauron, who's been in Buffalo for 3 years, has switched offensive systems to a new no huddle offense.
  17. I thought Skooby drove something else...
  18. The season is riding on Edwards. He's going to have to take to the new offense like a duck to water and make it work even if Belichick writes a recipe on opening day on how to defeat it. He's going to have to manage behind a highly suspect OL. He'll have to cope with Marshawn "Do Bongs" Lynch being out the month of September, which will delay his integration with the brand spanking new line. He'll have to manage the no huddle to keep the undersized Bills defense from being worn down to a nub over the season. He'll have to overcome dubious coaching decisions and the TO sideshow circus. Basically, we're depending on him to go from a young injury-prone QB that has shown next to nothing in the red zone to take a ginormous step up and become the unquestioned leader of this franchise and will his team to victories.
  19. Explains why 4 of the top 5 guys in INTs last year were safeties.
  20. If all they can get is a 7th rounder, they should just cut him. Obviously.
  21. The real point was that there is an obvious difference between records such as 31/33 and records such as 1/8. Anybody that attributes such a huge swing to nothing more than helpless misfortune is trying to con themselves. It has been mentioned before, but once again, our head coach has total control over his staff, he has abundant input into the composition of the roster through free agency, the draft, and which players make the team, he chose the systems, he has final say on game day as to tactical decisions, and so on. Portrayal as a victim of venomous fate is clearly overblown excuse making. At some point, to be considered great at one's job, one has to actually be great and in the NFL that is measured in wins. Dick understands that and has said it very directly himself. I'm sure we can find faults with any coach, including each one in the Hall of Fame, if we want. But, just taking this one as a for instance, Gibbs may not have been as successful the 2nd go around (did you mention the new ownership?), but his version of not successful still got the Redskins in the playoffs.
  22. Or stabbed a couple people in LA.
  23. You're being overly generous, don't you think?
