  1. Well, I did post this before the Redskins actually started to get their blood flowing... And, yes, the Patriots have a few things to work on and I'm sure they didn't game plan this scrimmage intensively. Afterall, it is only a pre-season game. Still, it's like watching a different sport seeing a team rip up and down the field on offense and lay heavy lumber on the QB. Campbell took a big shot there at the end of the half. Think Trentative is going to pop right up after a dozen of those?
  2. He's paid way more money...
  3. and the PFT article says he's bad in pass pro...
  4. It's not too late to cut Walker, too. The line to give Brandon a "hearty handshake" for saving Ralph's money should already be organizing itself.
  5. Are you saying you're happy you're not in Trentative's cleats?
  6. You are getting ahead of yourself. Way ahead. Peters was (and might be again) a dominant player. Bell may get a starting LT job by default because the guy that the front office felt good about and chose for the job can't hack it and can't even fake like he can hack it halfway through pre-season.
  7. If you actually looked a little deeper than the "23 games, 12 wins", you might see that Trentative started out on fire and has gone cold during his string. Some of these other guys that you're comparing are the exact opposite. Now why? I'd say Trentative's early success was precisely because he was the anti-Losman QB. He, like Holcomb previously, came in and had quick success because he got the ball out very quickly and got the offense into a better tempo than JP ever could. Instead of slinging it deep to Evans, he was eating up the short stuff that the defenses, which hadn't seen him before, were giving him. Once the book was established on Trentative and defenses started to plug up the short passing game, he started to struggle. Not coincidentally, he has struggled in the red zone. With the other QBs, I'm going to say that they followed a great QB's natural maturation process. In college, they were used to making any throw they wanted. In the NFL, they had to learn exactly when and where they can and cannot make a throw. They have to get used to a new offense, new teammates, speed of the NFL game, etc. It takes some time. But once guys like Peyton Manning got through their growing pains, their raw athletic ability, maturation, and confidence combined to create a QB that would consistently perform at a high level. There are far many more examples of QBs that fail. And, unless Edwards can develop a deep game and figure out how to effectively operate an NFL offense in the red zone and in the face of pressure, he will be joining that longer list. This season is riding on his shoulders.
  8. Yep, sounds pretty familiar. If you look at Bill Belichick's first 3 years in Cleveland 18 years ago, toss aside Jauron's first 5+ years of head coaching, and compare Jauron's last 3 years to Belichick's first 3 years, then Jauron has a higher winning percentage by exactly 1 more game than Belichick did. Thus, by this twisty pretzel logic Jauron is as good a coach as Belichick!
  9. Why not just tell him he isn't a priority?
  10. Bart, are you practicing the quote feature? You'd like to be prepared to quote when you post, and we work hard on that.
  11. I thought the point of an excuse thread was to blame everyone else. I blame Roscoe's shoes.
  12. Final mistake? Has IQ passed on to the other side of the river Styx?
  13. Not exactly 'clutch' on Mondays...
  14. Probably because they had already drafted his replacement in McKelvin the year before, wanted to get McKelvin on the field since he was a high 1st round pick, and didn't want to pony up the cash to keep Greer.
  15. To recap: so the brain trust's solution to fixing a bad veteran line was to trade the All-Pro LT, cut the overpaid LG, dump both sucky Cs, move the RG to RT, and move the sloth-footed RT to LT, draft a C to play RG, draft a T to play LG, and pick up another teams backup utility guy to play the pivot in a 3-4 dominated division. And, not even halfway through pre-season, they are starting to work a 7th round pick from last year in with this group until he tweaked his back. And, the depth is virtually non-existent.
  16. I tend to think that is precisely what all the fuss is about. The evaluation was, "Damn, we look like sh--." I don't really recall anyone seriously bitching about not winning a preseason game, but I may have missed it.
  17. A weatherman might put it this way, "There is a strong chance of a blowout today."
  18. Nope. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?...t&p=1372337
  19. Wouldn't be the first one either.
  20. The Texans haven't made it either. Course they are an expansion team and haven't been around 10 years. The last time we were in was the last time the Lions were in as well. But the Lions suck.
  21. Actually, it's typically 11 to 15 yards. But, since we're pals, I'll spot you another 5 to 10. BTW, this is no criticism of Donte. The corners were playing well off too.
  22. On the bright side, Trentative can read ... newspapers.
  23. No joke. He's lining up very deep even for a free safety. Which is great if we're going to score millions of touchdowns and the defense can play prevent 100% of the time, I suppose.
