  1. It flies in the face of the theory that the offensive problems were entirely on Schonert and his offense. If Schonert was running Dick's system, then firing Schonert does not translate into a change in the offense but rather more of the same. And, if you can't find anything concerning about an offense that can't score, well, there is no point in further discussion.
  2. It is true that developing a young line is underway big time in Buffalo. Hopefully, the next coaching staff will be able to use it effectively.
  3. The concerning thing is that according to this, Turk was apparently implementing the offense as he was told -- the offense was being forced down his throat. Yes, he didn't like it and was unprofessional in voicing his "concerns" to the team (and eventually directly to the media).
  4. I don't think it was only money. Rhodes and Walker mailed it in this pre-season, and they were outplayed by 2nd year guys. Camp Jauron was not getting them ready for whatever reason. It will be curious if anyone else picks up these 2 players.
  5. Same brain trust that thought Walker could make the switch from RT to LT this year, made this recent cut of Walker and re-sign of Chambers, as are making the call on Bell. That aught to inspire some confidence.
  6. Seriously though, over a 16 game season the chances that one of your OL gets hurt for an extended period are pretty good. Do you guys feel good about having Chambers, Scott and McKinney as the depth? PS: It's not like Butler hasn't been banged up before.
  7. Walker was not kept on the team as even a backup and Chambers was re-signed. Put whatever spin from the mouthpieces you want on it, the fact is that Chambers replaced Walker on this roster.
  8. You are the only one that is trying to conflate Dick Jauron with the history of the Buffalo Bills. Why stop at 10 years, though? Why not try to conflate the entire 50 year mostly losing history of the Bills and make up a fiction that the people that knew of Jauron's weaknesses are trying to pin all 50 of them on him? It's really very, very simple. Sticking with something that is broken and a group that is not working longer is just procrastination and delaying the inevitable moves to fix that problem unless fixing the problems are not really part of the plan at all. There is really no number of straw-men that you can come up with that is going to convince me or many others that sticking with Dick Jauron over 6 other head coaches that have won NFL titles was a profound, inspired, and shrewd football decision.
  9. You really think cutting players at a position of weakness with largish free agent contract is going to excite players and make only those "gung ho about football" want to come to Buffalo? Really? They replaced Walker with Kirk Freakin' Chambers. You know, the guy that wasn't on an NFL team a few years ago and just passed the waiver wire the other day cause no other team had an interest in him?
  10. They cut Milloy, but they were trying to restructure his contract. http://www.boston.com/news/daily/02/milloy.htm Seymour was traded, not cut. Bruschi was out of gas, he and the team both realized it.
  11. Makes perfect sense. 1. Losman decides he hates the game and never wants to play it again. 2. Someone calls and offers him far less money to play football in a backwater league, but a chance to get on the field and show his ability. 3. He jumps at the chance, quickly signing up with the new league as his ticket to show NFL scouts what he can really do.
  12. My guess would be that they were looking for something else to happen and it didn't so they were forced to play a bad hand. Again. Perhaps the rumor that Runyan flat out turned down a team that offered him a visit was accurate. Perhaps the Walker trade option involved players and not just future picks.
  13. Fact: the Lions were undefeated in preseason last year.
  14. Well, we're not even original then. The Patriots have 8 [correction 10]. Only team I checked.
  15. It's a solid defense because it hasn't finished subliming.
  16. When Billy Buffalo runs out of the tunnel with a bag on his head.
  17. Has this team, has anyone, carried so many DBs? No, seriously...
  18. So that's what you use a shovel for!
  19. Actually only 29 other NFL owners are now in line to become laughingstocks. 2 owners were already wearing their shorts on their heads and their pants backwards.
  20. It's a small market, Crayonz. 6 letters at $0.30 a letter is a big name expense.
