  1. Can Ryan break 100 yards before the end of the 1st quarter?
  2. Whitner sighting! 22 yards downfield...
  3. We're gonna be hitting on all cylinders now.
  4. QB problem solved! j/k Cap'n.
  5. True that. He could be Deion Sanders Jr., but it is irrelevant because he can't stay in one piece.
  6. Hold them to more than a 1 play drive this time?
  7. -5 yards. Could be worse, I guess.
  8. Time to be a part of the Gonzalez highlight video.
  9. Pretty much. And those end over end ducks he threw that were knocked down by the wind? Those were because of the bad fans that didn't cheer their asses off for him. Sabotaged by the redonkulous fans again.
  10. The last negotiation was done at the very last minute and it was reported that owners signed it in good faith on Tagliabue's recommendation. Our beloved owner Ralph Wilson was ridiculed in the media for not understanding the deal, which was the height of irony for Bills fans that know the tight-fisted accounting that is his life's M.O. Ralph was right; ownership signed a bad deal and with the bad economy they need to get out of it and reign in the union (from their perspective). There is a schism in that some maverick owners like Jerry Jones want to turn the NFL into MLB and get rid of the cap so he can buy up all the marquee talent. Owners like Ralph want an end to the current cap accounting so that personnel expenses and profit are more balanced from franchise to franchise, continuation of the great socialist experiment that made the old guard filthy rich. An uncapped year is not good for the players as it will put a severe crimp in the number of players eligible for free agency and without competition and without a cap floor, the market size could decrease as well. Uncapped may be sold to the NFL rank and file as a "good thing", but how many of the ~1900 players will really benefit? The vast majority will not, and that is the intention. The uncapped year was designed to be painful to both sides to force them to the negotiating table.
  11. I thought they already started weeks ago.
  12. Kerry Collins might be a decent stop gap except, like Bledsoe, he has little mobility and behind a terrible OL he would be killed. The quandary is finding a QB that can stay healthy and shine behind a crap OL. Those guys aren't easy to find, especially on the scrap heap.
  13. I forgot Evans is still with the team there. (Looks like I'm not the only one either. ) Re: Coach. I'd go with Wade Phillips, though I'm not really a fan of his as a head coach. He's a great DC, but a middling HC. Williams and Mularkey might be good HCs someday but they were learning on the job here, the staffs were fluid, and the roster was getting turned over quicker than a flapjack in a hot skillet. The instability at OC, offensive staff, QB, and along the OL is nothing short of incredible and the results are just as one should truly expect. Jauron and his continuity above all else strategy was the perfectly wrong hire for a team trying to go in a new direction. "Continuity" and "going in a new direction" are polar opposites, but the front office never saw that contradiction apparently.
  14. Which isn't much of a positive since the NFL appears to be on course for an uncapped year. I do think that there is some talent on this roster but not enough and not at the key positions for success.
  15. All of this is from the way back machine other than Schobel and Moorman. QB-Bledsoe RB-McGahee (Henry) FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans (Price) TE-Riemersma OL-Fina, Brown, Ostroski, Jennings, Peters K-Christie DE-Schobel, Hansen DT-Ted Washington, Pat Williams LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Cowart S-Jones, Milloy CB-Winfield, Clements P-Moorman
  16. NO! He's going for Allotey's record. NO!
  17. They did mention that he hasn't learned the offense yet. Not sure why since it all fits on a 3-by-5 index card in 24-pt font.
  18. Big news, that. Thanks, JW. Well, sounds like Aaron Maybin may get his big chance in his 2nd year. Aught oh.
  19. Matt Millen loves this pick.
  20. Just thinking about the Ross Tucker piece. Kind of sad that the kids on the practice squad get passed over at this point in a flushed season for a guy that has been working a 9-to-5.
