  1. I wonder if Cowboys fans think the OL doesn't matter.
  2. Wrong. Shanahan and Allen went out and got McNabb this offseason.
  3. Indeed. Why would anybody need to be "tricky" against the Bills OL when they can physically abuse them?
  4. Yep. There were breakdowns all across the line. At least in the actual Bills game, but maybe not the Madden sim...
  5. Shanahan's team just beat a team that many had favored for the Super Bowl.
  6. and he'd go on IR for the rest of the season.
  7. I could just kiss this new turf!
  8. The time to change QBs was in the off-season.
  9. You know this how? Seriously. All I have ever seen Maybin do is try to rush the passer. When he isn't jumping offsides. Oh, and he gets some style points for jumping late onto a pile and bouncing around like he's Tigger. I'd like to see him show these mad coverage skilz (and coverage is not about having a quick first step). Seriously, I would, because our OLBs suck monkey balls for the most part. Anybody got something?
  10. McKelvin was an absolute stud. I know it's not saying anything but he may go down as the best 1st rounder the Bills have drafted the decade of the 0s. How many times did Henne have all day in the pocket only to fire an erratic pass that his receiver had no chance at? The defense had a good second half, but the Dolphins also have a ridiculously bad QB.
  11. You're clearly missing the conventional wisdom that said that you can take a poor DE who's shown little or no ability to be a pass rusher, line him up with his hand off the ground, add a pinch of pixie dust, and have a great pass rusher.
  12. 8 seconds left in the game, you need a touchdown to win, and Trent throws for the completion to the shallowest receiver. Tells you everything you need to know. But, it was good for the final stat line.
  13. Meredith did play some LT and was bad, as was Bell. The entire line wasn't good. It's a rather sad commentary on how low expectations are that fans can watch this line and think that because someone made a block or two that they were "fine" or, hell, even "good".
  14. Is the UFL still in business?
  15. I like it. Even if it doesn't happen, we can always take solace that the Bills had the best record in the league going into week 1.
  16. JaMarcus Russell has to break out at some time too? Answer: 0
  17. The funnier part isn't the "comparison" (there really isn't a case as you show in your post), but that some fans go out of their way to try and convince themselves that they really, desperately wanted Chan Gailey all along. Chan's the best retread the misfit Bills organization (I say that as a fan of a team that is tied for the longest playoff drought in the league) could land at the time. Hopefully, he will be capable and afforded the time and resources to turn around this dysfunctional mediocrity, but counting the chickens is incredibly premature at this point.
  18. Maybe. Maybinot. It's spelled "definitely".
  19. You mean you think he won't be on the inactive list?
  20. My take: There are a lot of people that really, really, really do not like our QB situation nor do they think our tackles have gotten significantly better. Edwards may surprise this season, but he's held in very low esteem by people around the league. (They can and should discount to some degree what he did in pre-season against vanilla defenses and take a wait-and-see attitude. Although the offense doesn't look like a fustercluck like it did under Schonert/Van Pelt, Edwards has not figured it out until proven otherwise.) The bookends at OT were not improved (they may actually be worse without Butler) and with a brittle QB like Edwards that's not a good thing at all. The Bills aren't getting any respect in general because people have watched them in past years and can't understand how big blaring weaknesses, painted in orange, decked with flashing lights, were not really addressed this off-season. The fans are going to say these holes will be filled by coaching, and they may be right, but the talking heads are looking at the players and still see the same voids.
  21. Agreed. Mitchell wasn't exactly irreplaceable. As a bonus, Adoyele has more experience in the 3-4.
  22. The wino was in the mini-mart and said he thought the Bills would win.
  23. Justed watched this happen, actually. Team announced it was moving last offseason and this season total ticket sales (and season ticket sales) were well below average. On the plus side the last game was a sell out. So your theory has some evidence to support it...
  24. Hope that is true... I'd like Nix to take on the bigger picture though, and not be the main college scout. I'd like to see him reorganize the college scouting of the franchise and upgrade the talent there, frankly. I take little or nothing from last season as a basis for this season. Everything is different, or enough different, that I don't see really much basis for comparison or using last year's results as a basis to say how this year's team will do. The Bills won and stayed in games last year on the strength of their defense, a defense that Jauron and Fewell put together and had developed for 4 straight years. While Jauron had his problems with offense and building a winning club, he did know something about defense. All of that was jettisoned, and from what I have seen so far, not for the better.
