  2. He should blame Terrell Owens.
  3. Is it OK to call Lee Evans an overpaid decoy now?
  4. I was kind of chuckling there in the second half when Kugler's line was making our DL look like world beaters (ok, maybe mini-me edition, but you know what I mean). Been a long time since we've seen anything like that.
  5. He had a chance to get a sack? Nearly everyone else on the DL actually got a sack against a beat up and lousy line, including the rather useless Fruggin Chris Kelsay.
  6. Either that or a puff of wind blew Maybin back.
  7. Chris Kelsay is an awful OLB. Just saying.
  8. Fred Jackson, deep threat. Who knew?
  9. Ugh, Murph, I don't think Big Ben is going to get benched for his boo-boo here. Sorry.
  10. Time to watch the cheerleaders. Whew.
  11. This is a dime defense?
  12. Johnson, McGee, Wood, and Spiller are injured. Guessing that Balogun hasn't been on the roster long enough to pass Maybin yet?
  13. While the team is still hanging in there and making progress, which should be a credit to Chan Gailey, what has Buddy Nix done so far? Cornell Green and Dwan Edwards for Brad Butler and Aaron Schobel? A rookie class that rarely sees the field? He gives quotes and the appearance of one that hits the ground snoozing. Perhaps he was just all plumb wore out from answering millions of calls a day for the coaching vacancy.
  14. It's a meaningless stat. Poz is supposed to collect a ton of tackles; that's the scheme they were using for most of the season so far. Whitner played behind OLB Kelsay, so he had ample opportunity to play eraser and make up for the awful play that was in front of him. And, the defense was so putrid as a whole, they could never get off the field.
  15. Nix did not do that. He was but a single voice in a larger machine that turned around the Chargers. Some people would have it that he taught Bill Polian how to be a GM. PS: If you want to give him all the credit, you can credit the Bills 2000 draft class to Mr. Nix. Erik Flowers is looking good now only by proximity to Aaron Maybin.
  16. Let's ask it this way: If you were Buddy Nix would you fork over some of Ralph's team allowance to keep Posluszny or Merriman?

  18. Meh. Not really in retrospect. It was pretty well known in most NFL circles that the guy was damaged. He was healthy enough for the Chargers to cut; but, that's like pulling a guy over and him blowing a .079 on a breathalyzer and concluding the guy is completely sober.
  19. Well, they don't set up a press conference when they sign Joe Klopfenstein, do they?
  20. No comparison to Jay Fiedler yet?
  21. This is Shawne Merriman, right? The guy that thought he could play a full season on a blown knee? He wanted to believe he was 100% and can still play at an elite level and the Bills brass wanted to believe him.
  22. Not sure what they are counting exactly. I recall Bell giving up a sack earlier in the season. http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/10/15/o-line-em-up-sacks-allowed-stats-for-each-and-every-team/
  23. Or maybe it's not a black vs. white situation. Who decreed that there can only be The One? Who says that the game of football must be boiled down at the major college level to deciding only one champion? That's never been the case. And even if it were made the case in the Bowl Subdivision, it still wouldn't be the case as smaller schools would still have their own, different championships. The fact is most college football players do not turn pro. Having a once-in-a-lifetime bowl experience in some place they'll never be again is, quite simply, a hell of a good time. You get to play a game you love against other players from a different part of the country and make some friends and see the sights. That's what the "awful" bowl games were really all about. So, a bowl game is both a football game and a unique college experience.
  24. What? You don't like paying the good ambassador hometown premium?
