  1. It's common knowledge that Modrak makes the big bucks because he shines in the later rounds and especially with the UDFA "picks", aka, the Modrak Wheelhouse.
  2. It seems more likely that he is a pocket QB who lacks slippery elusiveness. Trying to stand in the non-pocket and throw to the hot receiver (he certainly didn't have time on some of those picks to look anywhere else and who knows if the 8th string WR was on the right page) is exactly what he is supposed to do, in fact. It obviously didn't work out.
  3. I didn't compute it out to the zillionths, but was going by another post. (Not always accurate... )
  4. With a regime change in Carolina, there will be no reason for the new people to view any of the scraps left over as anything but replaceable fodder. Clausen sucks and it is on the coach's film. They'll have their pick of franchise QB suspects.
  5. It's the 4th pick, isn't it? With a tie in SoS (Bills and Bengals @ .589), the Bills beat the Bengals so the Bengals will draft ahead of the Bills. http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures
  6. And a division of stiffs. Maybe Nix can get the Bills traded to the NFC West.
  7. So, do you think it was Gregg Williams call to hire a defensive consultant when he was HC of the Bills?
  8. Is it OK to call Stroud out now? That guy is done. As far as Edwards, I thought going to the 3-4 this past off-season would set the defense back considerably as the scraps from Jauron were all suited to a diametrically different system. They did manage to tweak things to adapt to the dearth of talent during the season, but while Edwards is no doubt an economically beneficial hire, he is also clearly overmatched. Still, I could see him getting fired or getting a promotion from this front office.
  9. Just curious as to what you saw in our running game that made you think it was being successful and could be relied upon to put drives together. We picked up barely 2 yards a carry on the ground. The patchwork OL wasn't getting anything done at all. The line playing today was a bunch of junk thrown together. By the way, I've seen a lot of people criticizing Brohm for not making or fixing all the line calls. One point there is that the Bills played this game without Hangartner, who actually makes the line calls normally. Now, Fitzgibbons may have made some adjustments if he were in there, but like you suggest above, maybe Gailey took some of the load off Brohm? I've also seen plays that look like Hangartner made a call that the rest of the line seems to ignore or not understand at any rate in earlier games this season. If it weren't so pathetic, it would be comical.
  10. I thought he really failed to step into and follow through on that pass when the unblocked defender took a free run and drilled him square in the chest.
  11. Trent took his golf clubs with him.
  12. He's just all worked up and excited that they gave Merriman the money. Makes it hard to focus.
  13. Apparently, this one is bottomless.
  14. Well, if they only had the Great One out there to counter with his own wide area effect.
  15. You are assuming that they don't draft another KR?
  16. The Jets blitz in every game. It isn't Brohm's fault that they are blitzing.
  17. Florence didn't look so great on that other TD either.
  18. The other angle to look at is that Evans already has 7 years on the tires, got dented this year, and the front office has been preaching that it will take 3 more years before the team becomes decent enough to make a playoff push. By then, Lee Evans has 10 years on his tires assuming the plan actually bears fruit. So, what is the point of forcing him to continue the death march to the end of his career in Buffalo if you can parlay him now into a player(s) that will be hitting their prime in 2013? On the third hand, the Bills have extended Chris Kelsay and now Shawne Merriman, so it's a fair question if they are really trying to serve two purposes and splitting the difference.
  19. Looks like the running game is clicking though.
  20. "Extenz for porpoises" is correct.
