  1. On the bright side, his career in Buffalo got him over his fear of snow.
  2. The Myth Busters proved that it is possible to polish a turd.
  3. I wouldn't grade Bell as "impressive", but he was getting in the way.
  4. No. But, I saw him come down hard in the box and get burned last week though.
  5. CJ Spiller filled the decoy role rather well there in the closing seconds.
  6. I'd say Jauron never hired a competent OC, which made for a vicious cycle of trumping ineptitude, but his slave to continuity mentality was also organizationally crippling.
  7. Turk Schonert is back.
  8. Begs the question: what happens if they lose? Do they mail it in for the next 14 games like the 2001 Panthers?
  9. There is more than one step in calling the defensive play, though. It is possible that Jauron called the play, but it wasn't called on the field. Still, why were they huddling anyway? Any way one wants to slice it, they were caught with their pants around their ankles.
  10. I still think he's just as good as Belichick.
  11. Do you mean drug dealing or fathering as many bastards in as short a time as possible?
  12. Can't stand color guys with a passion and understanding of the game either. Much rather listen to a comedian deliver a set of painful one liners he hashed up before the game.
  13. Perhaps the idea is that if you watch a team practice against itself long enough, you'll know how they match up against other teams that you haven't seen on future game days and cut through all the dynamics of a full NFL season with the focus of a laser beam.
  14. Yeah, but do you think a good 46 safety would be a wise investment as a first rounder next year?
  15. Plus, he could step in as the next head coach if things get really ugly.
  16. I prefer the notion that it was all Buddy's idea.
  17. There is a middle ground here. One can believe that Nix believed every word he said. Then, one can objectively reason about what he said and realize that the man in charge of the Bills is deductive reasoning challenged.
  18. He was coached by Hudson Houck for a few weeks. He must be great.
  19. Sounded more like they wanted to stymie his development because he came from a small school with poor competition.
  20. Unfortunately, players that aren't as good as the opposition tend to draw more penalties and get hurt more often because, well, they just aren't as good. Somewhat seriously though, Harrell has reportedly taken some great strides in his development as a QB, getting better at playing under center, etc. Meanwhile, Brohm is playing for some club in the UFL, if there is a UFL?

  22. Of course, there is more to line play, say nothing of formidable line play, than being a certain weight (not that that's what you meant exactly).
  23. Right. Guys on the practice squad are technically free agents. They can sign on with any team. They don't have to, but will often give the team they are practicing with a chance to sign them to their 53 if they are getting called by another team. In Brohm's case, he decided to go to Buffalo despite all that because the Buffalo QB situation was a train wreck and he wasn't going to get much of a shot in Green Bay. The Packers might have waited for the Bills to go after another QB and simply demoted him back to the practice squad. His problem was he ended up being a hyped up system QB that just wasn't as good as his Petrino numbers.
  24. Perhaps the '07 class just wasn't very good. Both the Bills and Pats struck out.
