  1. or maybe he's trying to focus on whatever negatives can be found so he won't feel bad on draft day?
  2. Hey, it's not my money, so pour it down a few sinkholes.
  3. The idea is very original. Makes one wonder why other teams in the NFL don't use the draft.
  4. Though the point is moot, there is a good chance the Bills would not have taken Miller if he was available at #3. The Bills were focused on fixing their run defense first and foremost, which would put some blinders on at the very least to a guy seen mostly as a pass rusher. Furthermore, Nix was settled at OLB will Merriman and Kelsay and the depth they had. Besides, he was busy talking Ralph out of spending money.
  5. Soar? Wonder what Moreno thinks about being a backup...
  6. He wasn't the problem last year. He's not as good as some here would suggest and not as bad either. But, my original comment was inspired by a player that was garbage.
  7. I don't get that either. Just because the team supposedly is under the cap (who knows what their own budget is actually) doesn't mean they should shower money on sub-standard players. Not that they don't do exactly that at times, but you don't have to go out of your way to pay the guy blowing leaves, whether he shows up or not, 10 times what you're paying the brain surgeon at your hospital just cause you can "afford it" in the hospital budget.
  8. Even if we believe the "genius" proclamations, it does happen that even a genius can be dealt a 1 trick hand.
  9. It'll be the wing next to the Mike Rockwood wing.
  10. From Poz's standpoint this team extended Kelsay as an OLB, re-signed injury plagued Shawne Merriman, fired his position coach, and had a GM announce at the Senior Bowl that the team was fine at OLB but really needed to re-tool the ILB spot. Well, he did say Poz was a fine player, too, to cover all the angles ... but the writing was in 40 foot high letters on the wall.
  11. Wood is reportedly out for the season.
  12. Hmm. Using that measure, it is too early to say that John McCargo and Aaron Maybin were busts for the Bills as well, since they each only started 1 game in their careers here.
  13. The Bills went to 4 Super Bowls running the 3-4 defense back in prehistoric times. Not just factually incorrect, but wholly irrelevant. Yoda sends his regards for a "nice try" though. But, yes, this hybrid scheme that has tackles and ends playing LB and vice versa isn't too pretty.
  14. The out of the pocket thing sounds like something someone in the truck made up on the spot. A penalty on the defense AND the offense would typically be offsetting, eh?
  15. Brady shrugs off and then jukes Maybin for a TD.
  16. The financial side of the business cares. It's their jobs to keep the team turning a profit. Other players might care as well. Why? Do you think that if the Bills don't spend right up to the cap that they keep the surplus stacks of $100 bills under Russ Brandon's mattress for a rainy day?
  17. That brought the post a couple weeks ago that claimed Chris Watson was a good FA signing because he could make a fair catch come to mind.
  18. The transition from the undersized, speed-based Tampa-2 defense to what Parcells' dubbed the "Planet Theory", the 3-4 scheme, is only in its second year. Who could've predicted it might not be an easy transition?
  19. Suggests that Gailey has a ton of confidence in his O-line, no?
  20. The offense went into decline last season as well. As defenses countered what the Bills were doing the production declined. Earlier this year, the offense had some explosive quarters and halves of games and point up enough points to come from behind and get some wins. That was coming off the lockout, and now that things are settling down a bit league-wide, defenses have their tape and are effectively taking away what the Bills do best. No surprise there. The Bills need to make a counter move in the chess match.
  21. Yoda test pass, it does not.
  22. Who was that poster on 2008 that claimed the Bills had 47 defensive starters on IR or something like that?
  23. Well, he was giving Romo fits and hits all day. Not.
  24. Didn't someone post after CJ was drafted that CJ had lost a game of checkers to his pet rock?
  25. Another way to look at it is that it was an exchange/trade of backup players. They got Maybin for $500K and we got Brad Smith for $3M.
