  1. I guess you don't know Chan and didn't see the post game after the last time SJ did this.
  2. The mods will be happy to shut them down.
  3. Chan is being Chan. If you didn't see this coming, you don't know the Bills coach.
  4. Nope. It was the Senator that was giving him something to think about. Sure didn't look like he was very receptive to it either. (Pun intentional)
  5. Dwan Edwards and Dareus seem to be getting a lot of pine today...
  6. Was the feeling that he'd tweak Chan one last time?
  7. Do you think that is relevant in any way to Littmann and Overdorf?
  8. Maybe you laugh and ask them if they can limbo any lower while speed dialing someone serious.
  9. Perhaps he'll get some incentives for having a great season.
  10. Would this be so as to get Fitzpatrick broken or killed?
  11. In 2007, the Bills picked 3 players that saw significant playing time, including a 3rd round pick that was billed as the best QB in Buffalo since Jim Kelly. 6 of the 7 draft picks made the team and a couple of the later round picks saw plenty of snaps on special teams. Looked like a great draft and was heralded as such by the end of the 07 campaign. 5 years later, not a single one of those 7 picks are still with the Bills. (4 of the picks are still in the NFL and 1 has had an outstanding year for his second team.) Is the 2011 draft the foundation of something good? Only time will tell.
  12. They gave up on Gibran Hamdan too soon... To the OP: Yes, he broke the record with a game still to be played.
  13. Wait a minute. I thought the reason for the free fall was lack of depth at OL.
  14. There were teams that saw the Spiller pick and assumed the Bills would be willing to deal Lynch on draft day. That hardly means "he was available" as those teams were rebuffed. The calls were not returned. Nix and Gailey even stated publicly that they planned to use all 3 backs. But, when push came to shove, there came a day when Nix answered his phone and just replied, "OK, we'll take it" to the Seahawks offer. The Seahawks were blown away frankly by the lack of communication followed by the brevity of the (non-) negotiation. I think, Kelly, that you can put the rest together for yourself easily enough.
  15. I'm still trying to figure out what the Bills would do in their 5 wide offense with Jacobs...
  16. Another example of where the Bills aren't built for certain matchups can be found on defense. They have some good to excellent interior defensive lineman that can "put a cork in the bottle" on the interior running game (and they are missing a stud there as well). They've decided to go with heavy sets using 5 defensive lineman on the field. And that worked very well against a Broncos team that was trying to run between the tackles. But, we will see how well that works against New England this week. New England doesn't try to pound it between the tackles, they try to stretch the field horizontally and create space with speed and by countering coverages. The Patriots have gifted TEs that can catch footballs and make plays and a QB that can get them the ball, which can expose a defense that starts linebackers with zero cover skills. I know the Bills beat the Patriots earlier this season, but the matchup is still not a good one.
  17. Chris Kelsay got us some of those high motor Maybin sacks today.
  18. Yeah, and Trent Dilfer "looked" better when he had the best defense of all time and a running game.
  19. Thank goodness Brad Smith got the job as offensive decoy...
  20. The win today might take the Bills out of the hunt for Richardson.
  21. The Bills had 2 pick 6 scores and 1 punt return for a touchdown; that was 21 of the 40 points. The return game also flipped the field for them and was excellent. The offensive output was 1 touchdown and 4 field goals and 2 missed field goals. The Bills offense did bog down when it got in the red-zone. Phil Simms actually praised the coaching for going 5 wide inside the 5 yard line even though it wasn't working to score TDs. A win is a win, but it wasn't flawless.
  22. Here's the actual quote: So, what you are saying is Ralph was intentionally repeating himself when he listed offensive skills positions because only an "idiot" would think his use of "runners" meant "running backs".
  23. I couldn't care less about Kelsay making statements about his coaches either pro or con myself. It's just feel good pablum that good soldiers like Kelsay give for public consumption. That said, the defense played well today. Dareus and Edwards played very well and shut down the Broncos interior running game after the first drive, when they looked like they were going to get carved up. Without that, the Broncos offense floundered and Tebow's limitations were exposed. He's not very accurate, holds the ball WAY too long, has a terrible elongated delivery (resulted in 1 fumble/int directly), and doesn't really see the field very well. He needs work, no question about it. I'm not counting him out or rooting against him by any means; he's just not a complete QB at this time.
  24. The downside risk to this victory would be for someone to take the game in isolation and assume George Edwards was doing a great job.
