  1. If Stevie Johnson had been allowed to continue to play, Bill Belichick would have stuck with the defense that wasn't working and made no adjustments.
  2. or Steve Spurrier Out of the frying pan and into the next frying pan. Maybe the problem isn't just having second-rate coaching. Maybe it just isn't possible to attract a first-rate coach.
  3. It's pretty hard to argue that it wasn't premeditated, is it not? That the official didn't see it last year and was looking for it this year (and were so instructed as they missed it last year), shouldn't really be that big of a surprise. Well, maybe to Stevie and his apologists.

  5. Or maybe the players "gave up" because the coaches were rotating in a lot of second stringers during the game, especially on defense. Then again, maybe the George Edwards "Cluster!@#$" defensive system wasn't really well suited to stopping Tom Brady for 4 quarters. Nah.

  7. Agreed. At some point, patching the ol' bucket just becomes a robotic, reflex reaction. Boldly starting off with something brand new has risks, but also risks great rewards.
  8. And the Broncos drafted ahead of us.
  9. 6 for 22 for 60 yards and 1 pick. Ouch.
  10. That could backfire. The Bills brass could decide to draft his replacement AND franchise tag (rent) him for a season. And, if he insists on keeping it up, cut him at some point.
  11. Or a QB above the Tarvaris Jackson rung of the ladder for that matter. I wish Stevie would "grow up" too. So far, there is little to indicate he is capable.
  12. My point was that it is hardly "impossible" to replace a WR. Divas are dumped league wide all the time. AJ Green has more than capably filled the hole. There are plenty of WRs in NCAA that can play -- some that I think have much better ball skills than Stevie Johnson, quite frankly. Now, I'm not saying that all things being equal, the Bills should be creating yet another hole, but Johnson has shown he's an idiot and doesn't understand how to follow directions. When trying to turn around the worst franchise in the NFL, one can't rely on the unreliable to lead the way.
  13. The first quarter went very well...
  14. The League told players that flashing scrawling on their T-shirts was not going to be tolerated. That didn't seem to be received by how many players exactly?
  15. It's highly unlikely Chan will fire himself, so yeah. And, I doubt he fires Curtis Modkins either. The guy makes good coffee.
  16. And Boomer would say, "No one circles the Can like the Packers!"
  17. I'm all for a rule change. It would be simpler if the officials just threw showboaters out of the game.
  18. Actually, this guy has had something to do with it. http://www.nfl.com/player/a.j.green/2495450/profile
  19. 12 years of rearranging the rubble and counting. Wait 'til next year.
  20. The Bengals seemed to do OK when they didn't bother bringing back their pair of diva queens... speaking of which I didn't see much Ocho Stinko today.
  21. Well, Russ Brandon got a promotion... just saying.
  22. Stevie is a free agent, right? What about the possibility that Chan knows they are unlikely to bring Stevie back and he is sending a message to the players that will still be with the team? A message like: you either do what I tell you to do, or you're not playing and may be gone. You know, the sort of message that coaches like Jimmy Johnson and Marv Levy used repeatedly to change the culture of losing teams.
