  1. He didn't fit the shiny new system that Wannstache was installing. (runs away...)
  2. It was meant as a joke. You know, "haha"? Still, if you'd rather there is plenty of company around...
  3. I like the metaphor. Sort of like the image of kicking back in the 1st class cabin, getting a good whiskey from a hot flight attendant, with the uncertain knowledge of whether the airplane has only enough fuel to get to the end of the runway or whatever.
  4. So, patience is not your strong suit, hunh?
  5. They could let TJ Graham wear his pads.
  6. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive subject lines. The topic starter can edit the subject line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  7. I didn't close a single thread today, btw.
  8. You need to start advancing your thread per the topic of your discussion and stop digging this hole. I know and already said I was taking your statement to an extreme. It is because I found several of your statements to be ignorant. [Edit] What it really comes down to here is making the right decisions. The Bills have not shown much of that in recent memory. Making the right decisions is not the same as making the simple decision.
  9. Look, no need to be assholic. "Wannstedt was promoted simply because of his past experience" You say that you did not mean that Wannstedt was only promoted for his past experience and that I made that up, but you did say he was simply promoted because of his past experience. And then you presume to lecture about who doesn't understand English? Interesting. By the way, yes, I agree they do not mean precisely the same thing. There is a subtle difference in nuance. Not that it really changes the meaning dramatically.
  10. If I remember correctly, there were more than a few folks who said back during the 2009 season there was absolutely no way that Ralph would fire Dick Jauron because he had just signed a new contract extension.
  11. So much for an injury free season.
  12. Sigh. I took your statement to the extreme because you said he was "[edit] simply only promoted for his past experience". If that was truly the only reason, [edit] or just as concerning if it was done because it was the simple thing to do, then it is an asinine reason and would illuminate incompetence of the management that made such a gutless decision. Capisce? You compounded this by suggesting that most hiring decisions are done based simply on checking the checkboxes against a resume, which I can tell you first hand is nonsense. And, yes, it just so happens I do not take everything football coaches say in a press conference as the complete truth. I understand and appreciate that there is gamesmanship and other factors involved.
  13. It's actually rather simplistic logic. OTOH, your take does explain why one would never draft a QB.
  14. Actually, if everyone only promoted people that had already held the position in the past everyone would be unemployed.
  15. They can always flip the switch next week.
  16. So you're saying you believe Wannstedt stood idly by all last year and gave no input but was elevated to coordinator as soon as the season ended because ... well, just because. Right? Edit: Perhaps I'm not seeing it because in my business, we promote people based on factors other than how good they look standing next to the water cooler.
  17. Flip the switch.
  18. Wasn't the yarn that Wannstedt had zero input into last year's defense?
  19. No, he doesn't. Not that it should be a surprise.
