  1. Hard to understand why someone wouldn't be stoked to be a part of that.
  2. It's hard to stop the backups in the NFL.
  3. This discussion centered around stopping the running game.
  4. You are confusing what I wrote with Hall-of-Fame credentials. There are plenty of LBs across the NFL that can play the position well enough that they aren't benched in favor of defensive backs no matter what the offense is doing. Really, that's a far cry from the Hall-of-Fame. It's merely asking for competence. Thanks for underscoring my point. Yes, it's pretty clear that Dave Wannstedt doesn't believe in the LBs on this team either.
  5. Well, he could hire somebody so as to stop aggravating the wrist injury by counting all those stacks of money.
  6. On the other hand, the Jets have proven that have the chutzpah to make such a move.
  7. He has no interceptions. 24 TD passes, though.
  8. Don't you need guys that can stop the run, get off blocks, and play a little pass coverage in ANY scheme?
  9. It settles one crucial question. He's not asleep at the wheel. Indeed, it appears the wheel minds itself.
  10. What strikes me is that just last year they had Chris Kelsay and Spencer Johnson attempting to play in space. Now, they have defensive backs playing linebacker when getting gashed on the ground. Does the pendulum always need to be at an extreme? PS: And why can't Buddy find a NFL caliber linebacker somewhere?
  11. Guess we know what word she associates with Dick quite strongly.
  12. Actually, he said he was out on the road scouting.
  13. If he can't see what's going on from the booth or his reaction time is measured in hours to days, then not sure how him being on the field would help anything. Of course, if you believe the problem is that he is napping on his cot in the booth or that the players need to see his 'stache up real close to play well, then maybe there is something to having him stand up and walk around fiddling with a headset.
  14. Everybody knows that a team, with no talent to start with, has to backslide a few years.
  15. In a word: outcoached. Belichick decided to take advantage of them playing nickel with undersized players trying to stop the run and wrecked havoc play after play. He never adjusted to counter what Belichick was doing, choosing to make it easier for them by sticking with what was failing. You got one coach that countered while the other caught a nap.
  16. So what you are saying is that we had better coaching last year. With lesser regarded talent.
  17. Let's ask the begging question with respect to the bolded. With respect to the offense there have been about 5 jillion posts on this board about Gailey being pass happy, not figuring out how to use his running game, not using CJ Spiller, and putting games in the hands of Fitzpicks. Not to mention organizational direction which hasn't invested in the QB position or really much in weapons for this aerial assault oriented attack. So, is Gailey really a brilliant offensive mind, or is he more of a stubborn one-trick mule?
  18. Quite true on Jauron. Taking the air out of the football is a good strategy for sneaking out victories with a team with less talent. Unfortunately, it is not a strategy for building a great team that can win consistently and win if it ever got to the playoffs.
