  1. Pretty much. Wannstedt wants to see the front 4 generate the pressure and play 7 in coverage. Gannon commented on that final TD that the Titans knew exactly what the coverage was going to be and ran the play to beat it. He was dead nuts on.
  2. On the bright side, they held Chris Johnson to under 200 yards.
  3. I really can't stand the hangdog moping around body language of Fitzpicks. Our starting QB just oozes no confidence and zero leadership.
  4. Regarding Dareus: It's shocking, frankly, to see the guy that people said was the best player in the draft getting dominated straight up.
  5. Yes, we were trying to switch to a 3-4 according to Buddy. JJ Watt looks pretty freaking awesome in a 3-4, in fact.
  6. Is this a fill in the blank? How about "Wanny's scheme sucks."
  7. Not sure it would be useless. Maybe the next coach would put him in a position to have success.
  8. It's symbiotic. Dalton may not be as big as his hype, but he seems pretty accurate and a decent game manager. Aspects that are seriously lacking from Fitzpicks game.
  9. There's that. Sometimes it is better to stick with the garbage you know.
  10. I don't get Bowe's thinking. Why go from a bad team with suspect QB play to another team with suspect QB play to be with a coach that is in a lame duck season and on the hot seat? Maybe he just can't stand Kansas City and doesn't care so long as he gets out.
  11. Because AJ Green can bend over backwards while sprinting to catch wobbling passes a yard or more behind him?
  12. Yep. Getting a new QB would be at the top of most people's "adjustment" list to Santa Nix.
  13. Wait. So, you're saying Glenn's injury is why the Bills defense flat out sucked?
  14. Since you're the captain of hindsight, I'd figure you'd be the first guy on the bus for taking a wait and see on this one. It's really kind of idiotic to assume he's going to suck purely based on his height though. Drew Brees is rewriting the record books and he's not tall at all. Personally, I'm going to wait and see. The kid has looked good and bad so far, which is about exactly what should be expected out of a 3rd round rookie QB with some talent.
  15. The point of the question was to see if ny33 had anything other than the height measurement on Wilson. Your misunderstanding it completely if you think the question implied he had a great second half last night.
  16. Other than height, what are the skills you think he is lacking? He's got a great arm, mobility, is tough, oozes leadership, is even tempered, is smart, understands the game, learned the offense quicker than Pete Carroll has seen anyone before... but, yeah, he's not 6'8". Good thing he's not a C in the NBA.
  17. Speaking of injuries, I wonder if Jackson isn't fully over his torn pec injury.
  18. Consider the possibility that in the jumbo package, the Seahawks have some guys versatile enough to tie up blockers in the run game and quick and powerful enough to collapse the pocket like a cheap, old beer can. Then, it might be possible to play either run or pass despite the personnel. Now, consider that you might want to rotate the line frequently to have them all going at 1 billion miles an hour all game long, so you rotate players and bring in guys with different strengths based on down and distance. The idea might be to try to maximize what those players do well. Another approach is to play in waves. Line up 4 guys in their spots every down and try to read and react to what the offense does to you. Use the same guys for a few series and then substitute in your backup rotation on the next series to keep everyone fresh. Neither of these approaches is exactly unpredictable. Both can be exploited schematically by a good offense.
  19. Could be some sort of "payback" for the Marshawn Lynch trade.
  20. Gilmore may be a lot of things, but he definitely is not "un-pedigreed" as the 10th overall pick. Nor is the kid on the other side, Williams.
  21. Then again, it isn't so neatly separable. Let's grant that Cowher was an idiot to stick with Stewart as his QB. Is it possible that Cowher did not do this purely based on the stupidity in his own head? Might he have been deceived by his coaching staff? Maybe even just a little? The reality is that managers often have to rely on the opinions of their subordinates and make less than fully informed decisions. Now, Chan Gailey has had a history of sticking with a so-so QB, trying repeatedly to coach these guys up, as if there is some taboo in trying to raise the level of the competition at the position. So, if Chan gushed about how he thought Kordell was the next Elway, etc. it has to be allowed that this may have influenced a moron like Cowher (recall that was a given).
  22. And Stewart's first offensive coordinator with the Steelers was ___?
  23. Funny, one might think losing was harder to take.
