The amount of times I've called Cam Lewis "Cam Phillips" is almost medically alarming.

Noticed that too. He's got to be a lock for the team, so some practice players aren't making it. Van Roten? Cam Phillips? McCloud?

I know this is the common view of him, and certainly it was his reputation during his draft year (I loved his college tape), but I sure think Singletary runs with more power. The notable exception was the Pittsburgh game like two years ago to run out the clock in the 4th. I hope all the folks who are high on him (more than I expected) are right and he's been bogged down by injury.

I believe the idea of a Moss trade has been tossed around at OBD. Whether they find a team willing to make a trade worth it is another question.

Well, sure. But the trick there is to find a way where he is officially "set aside" and not playing. It sounds like you think a suspension would do it. I think that requires a roster spot, but I could be mistaken. Either way it's not playing Ariza through litigation.

I'm not super interested in the tangential argument on here that seems to be dripping with pseudo-partisan culture war language. What I'm saying is the press that comes with this is untenable for a massive brand like the Buffalo Bills. To simply trot out Matt Araiza for the duration of this litigation is not an actual option. I think that notion is more of a hypothetical being used on a message board for folks (not necessarily you) to take their argument to the extreme.

You want him on the team until then? That's just not tenable. It's goes back to the "we don't live in a vacuum" thing. We can cut him, try to find an exemption like the commissioner's list, he can retire, but I don't see how in the world he can be a member of our normal roster or practice squad given the allegations (unless some massive piece of exonerating evidence emerges virtually immediately).

My guess over time (I obviously have no idea and want justice served above all) is that he'll be acquitted of serious charges to the point where he'd be deemed employable by an NFL team. Short of something like a commissioners exemption, I'm not sure how he'll be a Bill.

Are you ready for this topic to dominate evey press conference and interview and discussion with/about the Bills all year, and potentially beyond? It's a major, major distraction.

In a vacuum, a team would wait until the entire thing is litigated and a judgement is passed. But we're not in a vacuum and cutting and resigning to the practice squad isn't going to ease the PR nightmare that much.
