    Few of these threads have original-posts that are wildly off the mark, but my god, hasn't the point been made? Allen needs to play better, and it's likely he will. He showed a season of elite play. He's had two mediocre games to start the season, with poor throws as well as suspect protection. You're either on board, or you're not.

    Availability is probably his biggest risk, though he does have off games. Love his physicality and think his coverage skills have continued to get better with time in the league. No idea about his market value so I choose to have blind faith that Beane gets it done for a reasonable contract, somehow.

    I don't know how the former is an argument that supports the latter. Are you lording the cognitive ability of the young over the rest of us?? Jk, supporting the bills since bledsoe is, sadly, enough misery to have earned some stripes. I was only a kiddo for the 90s run anyway.

    Why is that the "likely" case? I understand the hypothetical scenario you're outlining, but I'm wondering why you think it's the odds on for what's occuring, currently?

    He was dynamite. Really just great to see. Offense has the regular season (hopefully) to get to an elite level, and with some luck watch out.

    Allen looks almost...tentative. Slower to pull the trigger and certainly "aiming" his throws without stepping into them. I agree that it is unsettling. I have faith he'll round into form at some point.

    We've got to be able to have a reasonable shot at running (and occasionally demonstrate it) out of the same formations we like to pass from. We cannot have a formation for each, but yesterday we did (and to some degree, last year too).

    Of the three, Oliver becoming a force would be the best outcome. We NEED consistently disruptive interior pressure in the playoffs.
