It is possible that they didn't attend to make teams behind them feel like they don't need to trade up in front of AZ to get Geno. All I know is I love the pre-draft period because I get to use the term 'smokescreen' so frequently.
Well since we're talking from a branding perspective, "this is all they have" (i.e. a rookie qb) is quite a lot. People LOVE rookie qbs, especially before the season starts.
1) We are not average fans on this site. The average fan, while maybe not thrilled about the upcoming season, does not have as gloomy an outlook as many on TSW.
2) A rookie QB will "sell our brand". Period.
Yep. Additional confirmation:

I imagine we will stay at 8 and take either Geno or Barkley if they're still there. If not we wait until the end of the first to trade up, or even roll the dice and stay pat at our 2nd round (more likely knowing us), to take Tyler Wilson if he's there. If not, we go into panic mode and do something crazy, maybe grab Nassib.
We really do have talent. There have been much worse teams in the past 10 years. We definitely need to make some noise on the OLine and add more LBs, however.
FA: G, LBs, WR
Draft: qb I agree with (Geno, Barkley, Wilson)
Who knows if it will pan out, but if it happens I'll be more optimistic (perhaps have more faith). I enjoy watching rookie qbs play, so I'm not totally down on this year.
