  1. I thought most of us felt that way about the trade and this year's prospects...but I could be out of the loop. Anyway, I agree. EDIT: it's pointless to argue about it, but I don't think there was a snowball's chance in hell that we would have taken OBJ if we hadn't traded.
  2. please, please let this be nonsense.
  3. I'll be beside myself if we hire Kyle.
  4. Keep Kyle away from the Bills.
  5. I live on the planet where the Buccaneers are likely to draft a QB 1st. Assuming that occurs, in combination with McCown being on their roster, it's not unlikely at all that they will try to trade Glennon. Foles is less likely to be traded, imo. But, that's the assumption forming the foundation of this thread isn't it. Having either compete with EJ is as good a plan as any. And much of the talk this offseason has been referencing QBs under contract. Given the paucity of prospects on the FA market, I'm expecting us to trade for a QB, regardless of what we do in the draft.
  6. Even if I attribute the EJ pick to Whaley, I still think he's been a good GM. QBs are a crapshoot, and he's brought a nice assortment of talent to the roster. My support (not that it means anything), however, is completely contingent on him fixing the OLine this offseason.
  7. I did say "battle" with EJ, referring to a competition. I actually have been most impressed with Glennon when watching games of all three guys.
  8. I'd definitely take Foles. Part of me thinks bringing on Foles, Glennon and having them battle with EJ isn't such a bad idea...
  9. Can't wait to sign a whole slew of brand new guards this offseason (save for Richardson). Everyone else can walk.
  10. Tying the next coach to EJ's progression prevents moving on.
  11. I've only interacted with him several times, but I really get the sense that he'd like to be a long time Stanford coach. Money talks though.
  12. Well yes, I would hope the coaching candidate is made aware that EJ is on the roster. I bet all of the candidates will know that already, in fact. What I'm saying is that I don't think any of our coaching candidates should be judged according to how they are perceived to mesh with EJ.
  13. Bump - I'm legitimately curious what many of our posters more familiar with the NFC think. 5 years in Detroit, appeared to lose the team at the end. He is, as was mentioned in another thread, quite puzzling.
  14. I hope the search for a head coach has nothing to do with EJ
  15. I think I'm eh on just about everyone. Namely Schwartz and Reich. It's a positive 'eh' for schwartz.
  16. Even if it were all Whaley, he deserves to remain GM through this offseason. EDIT: I'm finally ready for Russ to move on, for what that's worth.
  17. I am a big fan of Whaley, I think he's done a fantastic job of talent acquisition and I am firmly in the camp that would have selected him over Marrone, if there were a forced choice. As for the oft debated EJ pick: the only real way to treat this is as Whaley's pick. I do not think EJ will pan out, so I am not holding on to some hope that we made a great pick (although it would be fantastic, wouldn't it). Anyway, my point is, missing on one quarterback pick should not derail a career. He is young and clearly set up for a long haul in Buffalo, should he want it. He has done a great job of bringing in talent on the defensive side of the ball as well as offensive playmakers (I still think the Watkins pick will pan out, he's clearly a phenomenal WR). Bringing in Orton was a great move. Kolb was a logical move. Releasing Tavaris too early was suspect. I believe trying to find a franchise QB is a total crapshoot where the odds are stacked against you. It's an educated guess for the best of them. Missing on 1 shouldn't be a firable offense, and we've moved on quickly. I am happy he is with the team and running the show. I expect him to bring in major OLine reinforcements and two quarterbacks. If he doesn't I'll start to question him. Until then...
  18. Are we getting trolled here ptr?
  19. Well if he's elfish I'm out. At least get a wizard or something.
  20. I can't stand that guy. Don't know how I would feel about him on the Bills.
  21. We're his fourth interview along with SF, ATL, and CHI My best guess is he would prefer ATL, SF, then us.
