  1. It's just not in the Bills best interest. Not trying to target you but I'm just a bit surprised. He has talent, and I want the Bills to have talent.
  2. That is correct. But I would rather keep EJ for the Bills talent pool than "do him a solid" and deal him now. I believe Tyrod will do well, but I cannot predict the future. Thus, keep EJ.
  3. I think Tyrod is currently the best quarterback on the roster with an extremely high ceiling. That should hopefully be unequivocal enough for you. However, that opinion does not preclude me from holding EJ in high regard, nor should it. Just because I think one is better than I can't like the other or expect him to have a bright future if given the opportunity (mutual exclusivity). You want to know something crazy? Just as I heard the (tyrod) news this morning, I was eating breakfast at work. I kid you not, the moment I found out, the Shout song came over the PA system (they pipe in music to the on-campus restaurants). Coincidence or destiny???? EDIT: am I the only one who thinks this Shout song thing is nuts??
  4. I am thrilled with this decision. I understand we as a community are split whenever there are QB controversies, but I think we have a good ball team here and I'm happy the decision was between players who were performing exceedingly well as opposed to the least bad. I also am happy to have EJ on the team, and think he's got a future in the league. If Tyrod doesn't turn into an above average QB I'd be happy to start EJ down the road. I just happen to think TT has a hell of a ceiling (as does EJ), and he won the competition.
  5. I don't think I can stomach seeing him in a pats* jersey.
  6. lol, did anyone think this was remotely possible? (edit: not suggesting you did Kelso) But more importantly, Tyrod was the only choice, he's been consistently good, and is a young guy with a high ceiling. I also wouldn't underestimate his support in the locker room. The guys love him.
  7. Devastating. I have to think Whaley doesn't want to cut his losses on Bryce Brown. If he makes the team, I swear...
  8. Fantastic post.
  9. I'm only concerned that our run d might drop off, given how our personnel executed pettine's d
  10. Tyrod has won the competition outright I think. Consistent. Pocket presence. Reproducible throws. Long drive after long drive. He's currently the best QB on the team with a ton of upside. I'm also thrilled that EJ is progressing, and I think we've got ourselves a nice little situation here! Let's hope things looks this rosy in a few months.
  11. I think he's ok at it, but I'm sure the coaches are talking to him about that long read-option run he hit last week. He should have slid. I'm not worried about his durability though, I think it's a simple matter of being coached to slide.
  12. The assumptions like this have been driving me nuts (not picking on you BigBuff, just using your previous perceptions as an example). I think he's better at those intermediate routes that are so crucial in the NFL than most people assume. He also has a good arm. Maybe not as strong as EJ's, but the two aren't mutually exclusive. Ugh I hope he gets the starting nod. I think he's our ticket to the playoffs.
  13. Interesting question. Although I suppose both Cassel and Taylor would have to crap the bed tomorrow for this to be relevant. They have both looked very good in their limited time.
  14. I thought PMing was for the source, not who the starting QB will be according to said source (aside from it not being EJ). C'mon Metz, post it up so we can argue in favor of it or against it with ad hominem attacks based on whether the proposed starter matches our preferred candidate!!
  15. I've read that post a few times. Just so it's easy, here it is: All I'm saying is that if anyone besides EJ is named starter, Metz can claim he was right. I have no reason to doubt Metz, I'm just wondering why he didn't say "I'm pretty sure I know it's [insert name here] who is starting." This offseason is getting to me, obviously.
  16. Have I missed a post today where he says who the coaches have decided on? The way it reads to me, if the coaches name Cassel or Taylor the starter, Metz can say he was right. Now, I tend to think that Metz must have a legitimate source, but still.
  17. My favorite argument was that his arm wouldn't last the season
  18. I'm a bit late to the party this morning. Metz: to clarify, did you say you know which QB the coaches have settled on, or just the idea that the coaches have settled on one of the QBs that's not EJ?
  19. That is awesome. TR is a hero of mine, and that is one of his many wonderful quotes.
  20. Gotta keep the competition fair. Good move.
  21. Watch a replay of the browns game if you can. He made the throws and showed the pocket presence people were asking about after the carolina game. There is a taylor highlight reel on the team website, but obviously that's going to show a limited number of snaps.
  22. This notion of extrapolating number of scoring drives is a bit dubious, but hey, preseason is what it is. EJ does seem to yield a lot of 3 and outs / punts, but I've absolutely seen the progression this offseason and want to keep him (and I'm convinced we will). That said, its appeared obvious to me that tyrod has that offense humming. In command, throwing it nicely, picking up yardage when the play is broken or read option. I'm not as concerned about the TDs, whether they were drops or not. With our skill players healthy and mccoy in the backfield, I'd be reasonably optimistic about our redzone performance. It seems to me that tyrod would get us into the red zone more often than the other guys.
