Trade: LB Alonso & CB Maxwell to Dolphins from Eagles
947 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was more like week 11 or 12 when he fell off, but good point. -
Glenn looked very average to me last night. He is definitely not worth upper tier starting LT money. He blew his assignment on the called run by Tyrod and allowed an un-blocked Chandler Jones to blow it up for a loss. Then we had to hear Gruden gush over how amazing Jones is.

I know your thinking it just like me what IF WE WIN

The Over/Under on bogus calls against us to extend Pats drives is 3. I've got the over. -
The credit can't all go to Whaley for getting Darby. I'm sure Rex identified Darby as a perfect fit for his Defense, then advised Whaley. Sure Whaley had the final say and pulled the trigger on the pick, but I really doubt he was the one to discover Darby as "the guy" we need.

If EJ starts, we lose to the Jags. To the freaking Jags. That would doom the season. The passing game will be difficult with no Sammy or Harvin. EJ doesn't have the running ability to make a Defense respect the threat. It'll look like the Titans game with no Tyrod's running to bail us out at the end. A lot is riding on Tyrod playing this week.

One of the guys on the panel that is off-camera made a fart noise in response to Carter"s comment.

So Shady has not even played one down for the Bills

Holy LOL at "pre-Madonna". Is that like someone from 1981? -
Is Tyrod Taylor a legit fantasy Pick?
947 replied to BobChalmers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You'd have to be insane to draft Tyrod as your QB1. He won't be in the top-15 QBs drafted, even in a Buffalo league. If you must have him, by all means draft him, but get a top-12 QB first. Could he end up a top-10 QB? Sure. But I'm not betting my season on it. Grab him as a bench player & see where it goes. -

I had my draft yesterday. Tyrod went undrafted, but Manuel got drafted in the 16th round. I almost drafted Tyrod, but couldn't pull the trigger after EJ's big game. Instead, I took Brian Hoyer with my last pick, as my 3rd QB. As soon as I heard the news today, I picked up Tyrod and cut Hoyer. Edit to add: This is a non-Buffalo league, so Bills players often get overlooked. I think TT can be a viable QB2 for fantasy. He could be a 2TD/game guy, with 200 passing yards & 50 rushing- that's solid. -
4 reasons Bills D won't miss a beat without Dareus vs Colts
947 replied to pbanach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gore didn't have anything left last year, let alone this year. I can't believe his signing in Indy is being looked as "game-changing". We'll miss Dareus for sure, but Gore won't have more than 50 yards rushing. -
Way Too Early 53 Man Roster Projection (5-22-15)
947 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's no way we can afford Vernon Davis after the Clay contract. That would be extremely short-sighted. If cut, VD would likely go to team that already has a QB in-place & can compete for a title this year. -
I have to agree it was signing Mario. Feels like yesterday I spent days checking this board & the Bills official site every 5 minutes for updates, hoping he didn't leave town yet. That was the catalyst that started the change in perception of our team around the league.

Trent Green is definitely the okayest QB of all time..
-
No thanks. He wouldn't even be competition for Preston Brown at this point. Hawk has been overrated his entire career since being overdrafted.

Let's look at the other Bills O-lineman on the Wall of Fame... Billy Shaw- 5x 1st team All-Pro, 2x 2nd team All-Pro, 8 Pro Bowls. 9 NFL seasons, all with Bills Joe DeLamielleure- 3x 1st team All-Pro, 4x 2nd team All-Pro, 6 Pro Bowls ( 1 was w/ Cleveland). 8 of his 13 NFL seasons with Bills. Kent Hull- 2x 1st team All-Pro, 3 Pro Bowls. 11 NFL seasons, all with Bills Jim Ritcher- 1x 2nd team All-Pro, 2 Pro Bowls. 14 of 16 NFL seasons with Bills Ruben Brown- 2x 1st team All-Pro, 2x 2nd team All-Pro, 9 Pro Bowls. 9 of 13 NFL seasons with Bills. While I think Brown was a real good player for us, I really never saw him as dominant. But his accolades stand up against all of these guys, 2 of which are rock-solid HOFers. Voters are going to look at All Pro teams & Pro Bowls, which are quantifiable, I doubt they go back & actually look at film on OGs. I think Ruben deserves to be on the Wall. I'm not sure he's HOF material, but I won't be surprised if he squeaks in.

I'd take the cash unless the Bills were in it. A regular super bowl isn't worth $20k. I honestly don't even want to watch the SB this year due to the matchup.
-
Mario is already 40th on the all-time list with 91 Sacks, and he's only 29. If he duplicates this year's his numbers next season, he'll jump up to 26th. Assuming he plays 5 more healthy years, he's a lock for top-10 all time. 9 sacks per season over the next 5 years will get him there. Add in the fact that he's a complete DE, and not solely a pass rusher, and he's the next Bills HOF player.

Guess which team is listed #1 to land Peyton Manning ?
947 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manning has a long history of playing poorly in the cold, and he knows this. If he plays another year for a team outside of Denver, it'll be a dome or warm-weather team. -
Trade Bryce Brown & make a run for FA Mark Ingram.
947 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gore is done, he should retire. I'll be furious if he ends up on the Bills. We already have our own version of the old vet, and he's much better than Gore at this point. -

947 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ingram is a 2-down back. He will be way overvalued in free agency, and will get overpaid by somebody. Spending big $$ on a FA RB in today's NFL is moronic unless it's the last piece to building a championship contender. I'm not convinced he's any better than Brown anyway. -
Getting a new OC has to be a stipulation of Marrone staying on. Marrone's biggest knock in my opinion is his failure to recognize how over-matched Hackett is. He needs to admit his mistake in hiring Hackett and get an experienced OC. It'll take an order from up above to get him to it though. I could see Marrone being the long-term answer if a viable OC is brought in.

He really should be the favorite for DPOY at this point, but the networks spend about 20% of their weekly airtime showing JJ Watt highlights, so it won't happen.

I came here to start a thread on this too, good to others talking about it already. I absolutely loved the hit personally. It was really a microcosm of the game itself. Matthews was pursuing with his head down and got blasted. He underestimated our team, and got smacked for it. Just like the Packers team as a whole in that game. As hard as it was to watch the Offense, plays like the Wood hit make that game simply amazing for me to watch. I live in the midwest and don't get to see many Bills games in their entirety. And usually when they are on National TV, I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth. This time, I'm still fired up the next day. Feels awesome to have a team with an identity again.

Foles would maybe be an option if he was on the open market. Not worth a pick though, unless it's a 5 or 6.
