DeSean Jackson headed to Eagles in trade.
947 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad we stayed away, DJax isn't any better than Foster at this point in his career. -
I wouldn't praise the fan either, but that guy would never have to buy his own beer in WNY again.

CB Kevin Johnson (Texans) to the Bills
947 replied to N.Y. Orangeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Levi played well, but is very far from proven. Taron stays in the slot, and you have 3 solid CBs who can play outside. However it plays out regarding who's CB2, we're much better with KJ. -
What names a week from now would you like to see on buffalo?
947 replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cole Beasley- just as talented as Humphries, but probably significantly cheaper -
Williams has short arms & his feet are too slow to play LT at the NFL level. Look at the list of LT prospects that busted and their arm length, it's not an exact science but arm length is a major deal for LT. Getting dominated vs Clemson showed both of these flaws.

Totally agree on Isabella. But couldn't disagree more on Jonah Williams, he is a very high chance of bust if kept at OT. Risner is the only bust-proof OL IMO.

What's your off-season worst case scenario?
947 replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We get outbid for all the RT & Centers, and our "impact free agent signing" is Funchess. Then we're unable to trade down, so we draft DK Metcalf at #9. -
I like Sills a lot. He's a 3rd or 4th rounder because this draft is so deep at WR. He can become a solid #2 NFL WR. I think he may need a year before he's a real contributor, needs to add some muscle to his frame, his arms & legs are stick-skinny.

It boggles my mind that people are picking Jonah Williams. Short-armed unathletic college LTs become average OGs in the NFL. Even Robert Gallery, who was a better college LT than Williams had to move to Guard. Taylor & Dillard will be very good OTs. Taylor is better as of now, but I actually think Dillard has the best chance to be a really good LT. I'd actually rather have Risner than Williams, he's RT only but will be a stud there.

ASU WR K’Neal Harry is projected as a 2nd rd prospect.

I think Harry is the most ready to be a solid contributor as a rookie out of this WR class. I don't think he makes it pick #40. I'd love a trade down & draft him in the back half of Round 1. -
'Buffalo is very, very interested' in Matt Paradis

Risner is an absolute beast, he would make somebody else expendable, no way he's flex guy. I honestly wouldn't be suprised is Risner was a rookie pro bowler. -
This will be difficult to top: 9: Ed Oliver- DT, Houston 40: Chris Lindstrom- OG, Boston College 74: Andy Isabella- WR, UMass 112: David Montgomery- RB, Iowa State 131: Zach Gentry- TE, Michigan 147: Anthony Johnson- WR, Buffalo 158: Wyatt Ray- Edge, Boston College

Question. What is the opinion on G Wyatt Teller?
947 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well we already have 1 new OG in Long. At this point, it looks like Teller is a starter by default. I'm nearly 100% sure we'll be adding either a Guard, Center, or both in the draft/FA. Long could be our Center if we don't add one, and that'd be good for Teller's chances. I'd personally rather have Teller be depth this year while he develops, but he may end up starting, and very well may be a serviceable starter with better talent around him. -
Carolina WR Devin Funchess unlikely to be extended

Brown had a solid year and is now set to get paid like a top-5 LT. He may not even be a LT in a non-Patriots offense, let alone a good one. He's a good player, but not a great one, this has classic overpay written all over it. The Derrick Dockery & Langston Walker signings are still too fresh in my mind... Build your O-line through the draft & by signing young "up & comers" fresh off their rookie deal.

2019 NFL Draft Wide Receiver Prospect Primer
947 replied to blacklabel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow at Isabella at #20. He's going to be a much better pro than the majority of these guys. -
NE's offense has the ability to mask subpar OT play, because the ball is literally out in 1.5 seconds on passing plays. Nate Solder was never a very good LT in NE, but he was highly rated because he did his job for those 1.5 seconds. He got paid by the Giants for that, and went on to suck for them, because they run a more traditional passing offense. Somebody will now overpay Trent Brown & the same thing will happen. I hope it's not Buffalo.

I would love Ridley or Harry in the 2nd. Jawaan Taylor & Ridley/Harry in the 1st & 2nd beats the heck out of taking Metcalf & a 3rd tier OL prospect.

Article for those obsessing about Metcalf

It's his extreme awkwardness when he changes direction that causes him to slip, it's not the slipping that causes him to look awkward. This a huge red flag. -
VCR ALERT: Tues. 3/5/19: Steelers at Bills
947 replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember that game well. I live in IL, so I went to a local sports bar to watch the game with a friend who's a huge Steelers fan. He & his son wore Steelers jerseys, my son & I wore our Bills jerseys. I was sure we'd dominate, but it didn't end well for us... We couldn't even slow Leveon Bell down. The only positive from that game was picking off Roethlisberger 3 times. -
9 is too early for either, but I am much more confident in Hockenson to become a solid player. Metcalf is has a good chance to be this year's Josh Doctson first round flameout.

Little talked about option for Bills at 9: Brian Burns
947 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching Burns in his FSU highlights, he looks way too skinny to play 4-3 DE. I hate to say it, but he is built like Maybin was at Notre Dame- who ironically also played at 230lbs & bulked up to almost 250 for the combine. I know Burns is a much more complete player than Maybin could ever dream of being, but the body comparisons are close. -
How can we not be all in on Metcalf now?
947 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After all the "Combine Heros" who have burned GMs over the past 25 years, you'd think this stuff wouldn't happen. Metcalf's 40-time in shorts, bench press, and muscularity isn't the same as ability to run routes, catch contested balls, and producing like a WR1 on the field. He may look, run, & jump like Julio Jones- but that isn't enough to make him a star in the NFL. I'm VERY concerned about his agility numbers. Sure, he may end up a really good player in time. But he is an extremely raw prospect at this point, and can basically only run fly patterns. I want no part of him the first round, and I hope he's somebody else's mistake. -
Carolina WR Devin Funchess unlikely to be extended
947 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funchess is "just a guy", he doesn't have the ability to separate, and is not particularly good at catching contested balls. I wouldn't be suprised if Duke Williams has a better NFL career than him. That said, I'd rather we spend 1.9M/year on a JAG like Funchess than 10M+/year for another JAG in Tyrell Williams.
