  1. Milano was the MVP of the game. He does need to start working on the jugs machine before games though...
  2. LOL, I said the same thing to my son & wife, except it was "Who's the caveman next to Dorsey?".
  3. Yep. Ball was tipped, but was less than 2ft away from Knox. That was a very catchable ball.
  4. Singletary missed the blitz pickup on Josh's strip/sack. After that, I imagine having a patchwork OL that was getting dominated led to Moss getting more plays due to his pass-pro skills.
  5. I assume the QB spike to stop the clock was not a thing yet in that 1980 Bengals/Oilers game? Bengals got down to the 27 yard line on a QB scramble with about 10 seconds left. They need to stop the clock to attempt a game-winning 44yd FG. They get set up with about 4 seconds left, but the QB fires a quick pass to the Z-WR at the sideline so he can jump out of bounds & stop the clock. Time expires on the play, game over. If the QB spikes it, they'd still have 2-3 seconds on the clock & can kick the FG.
  6. I don't think Boettger plays this year. He was also pretty awful prior to injury, I really doubt he'll be effective coming off a torn achilles. People forget that Bates getting into the lineup was the catalyst that got our 2021 offense going after a few weeks of stagnation & no ability to run the ball.
  7. I didn't watch the game... Was on the road at my son's baseball tournament, and thought I'd be able to get one of the streaming sites to work on my phone. I thought wrong.
  8. Guys that are shoo-ins, even if not this year: Holt, Joe Thomas, Jared Allen, DeMarcus Ware, Revis, Freeney, & Simeon Rice. Eric Allen should already be in. He was elite in his era, made 7 Pro Bowls, & only missed 7 games in a 14yr career. With recent HOFers with short periods of dominance like Boselli, maybe Patrick Willis or Priest Holmes has a shot. Holmes has 94 career TDs, and Willis made the Pro Bowl all 7 of his healthy seasons. Both had very dominant primes.
  9. Both of Tua's long TDs to Hill were broken plays. If the Ravens don't crap the bed there, nobody would be talking about a possible close game. We won't let that happen, especially twice. Miami doesn't have a run game that needs to be respected, so I think we can contain the deep stuff & harass Tua.
  10. Singletary should be the short yardage back. He finds a tiny crack & slices through it better than just about any RB in the league. Him over Moss in those situations should be a no-brainer. So what if he's small, he accelerates in an instant and gets positive yardage. Moss runs hard & is a big body, but takes longer to get going & struggles to find a crease if a hole isn't initially there.
  11. The long pass to Gilliam last night was reminiscent of the desperation deep shot to DeMarco in the playoffs. Gilliam is fine on dumpoffs & short passes, but isn't a talented enough receiver to go get the ball out of the air downfield. Turning around & beckpedaling on a deep ball is the worst thing you can do. Knox would've turned that into a huge play, same with most of our WRs. I was a pleasantly surprised by Gilliam's speed in the game, he looked more athletic than I thought he was. His TD was fantastic.
  12. Sitting through the Week 5 Bye has to be under their consideration.
  13. They teach you on Day 1 of youth football to keep your head up. That was utterly moronic by Edmunds. Head down trying to spear an opponent that was already down, only to knock your teammate into next week.
  14. I won't be surprised if that was Mitch's last start of the year. I'd say he has 1 more week max to show something. So far, he's looked worse than every single one of the supposed bottom tier QBs: Geno Smith, Mariota, Brissett, Davis Mills, Mac Jones, Flacco- even Cooper Rush.
  15. I've had the same injury, it may even be worse than broken ribs. I heard it pop & pain was extreme. Mine took 4 weeks before I could do anything involving twisting w/o a lot of pain. The injury is more common from twisting too hard than impact. It's not something a flak jacket will help, impact won't hurt it more, but twisting will. The injury being on his left side is much worse than being on his throwing side, you use the left side to generate power to throw. I'm sure he'll get pain injections & pop some percocet, but he still won't have the same power/torque to throw. I bet he takes a few weeks off. And we all know what happened the last time a Chargers doctor gave a player a rib injection... (cough) Tyrod (cough)
  16. The split screen sucks, instead of making half the screen for each game, they put each game in a small rectangle that's about 20% of the screen. It's like gluing 2 iPads onto your tv screen. You can't see anything. I watch RedZone a lot when the Bills aren't playing, and screen splitting pisses me off to no end. I have to watch a TD pass on a tiny screen so they can also show Cleveland kick a 19yd field goal? Why can't they just delay one of them by 5 seconds & show both in full screen? The only thing worse is when they do the 3-game split...
  17. This week, Settle or Oliver (maybe both) will likely be inactive, so it'll be easy for them to activate Shakir. Lawson would also be activated if it's both. Going forward though, it's likely that either a WR or RB is inactive each week. If everyone is healthy, one of: Moss, Cook, Shakir, Kumerow, or Crowder will have to be it.
  18. I think part of it is that teams try to defend him like a Tight End, which he isn't. Kelce lines up in the slot the majority of the time, he's not an in-line TE very often. If you put a LB on him, like you normally would a TE, he's too quick & gets open. If you put your Slot CB on him, like you normally would a Slot WR (and most slot CBs are undersized), he's too big & physical. The other part is he constantly gets a free release since he's in the slot. He's deadly if allowed to roam free. Solution: Put your best cover CB on him, and you can slow him down. Bump him at the line with a LB too, and now you're cooking with gas.
  19. I think the Packers might actually be done. They won't be near as bad as they looked yesterday without both OTs & their WR1, but they could be a .500 team. Rodgers body language & attitude was bad, I think he either retires after the season or forces a trade. The 49ers are in trouble if they stick with Lance. I don't see him ever becoming what they thought he could be.
  20. Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis was a similar win/win trade.
  21. There isn't much Dallas can do. When you pay elite-QB money to a QB who is not elite, and are also paying elite-RB money, you're too cap strapped for anything but the cheapest moves. They'll likely have to add a street FA or pluck a practice squad guy. No way the 49ers trade Jimmy, I'll bet they're going to need him soon.
  22. He is probably the easiest 240lb defensive player in the league to block. I'd rather have Maybin come back to play Edge than Edmunds.
  23. Hughes is supposedly starting in Houston, with Mario Addison backing him up.
