  1. Watching his tape, he does catch with his body more than you'd like to see, but he also has a bunch of hands catches & high-point catches so he clearly has that ability. He just needs to be coached to not let the ball get into his body as much. Not a big deal IMO. A body catch is a whole lot better than not catching it. He also played with one of the more inaccurate QBs in college football, and a lot of deep balls were underthrown, causing him to slow down & let it drop into his hands tight to his body. I didn't see many where the ball was out in front of him & he had to extend/reach to catch it.
  2. Well Kelce didn't even have a target his rookie year, he played only 1 game on special teams. So here's hoping Kincaid can have a much better start to his career.
  3. Aaron Donald & Dwight Freeney come to mind as being considered reaches on Draft Day. Freeney was mostly projected as a 2nd rounder and went 11th. Donald was said to be a late 1st rounder, he went 13th. NFL.com even rated him a 5.9 prospect, Average Backup or Special Teamer.
  4. You don't think they went back and watched every snap of the players they put on the short list? Maybe the USC tape did initially put Kincaid & Dorian Williams on their radar, but I have no doubt they did a ton more work before grading them.
  5. Boettger was never going to make the team in 2023. They did him right by keeping him on the team to rehab, but he is not in the plans. He was already a replacement level OG at best, and is now coming off the absolute worst injury possible for an NFL player.
  6. TE is a steep learning curve for a rookie & few make much of an impact their first season. But looking at that list, the 2 who stand out, Pitts/Engram, are not true Y-TEs. They're technically F-TEs, but really just big WRs. Their learning curve is mainly route running, since they rarely inline block. Kincaid is in the same mold, he needs to learn the playbook & routes, he should be up to speed much quicker than a traditional TE would. He probably won't be working with Kromer on blocking, he'll be with the receivers.
  7. The 225lb bench press is really an endurance event for OL/DL who can move serious weight. I've known guys who could bench 450lbs but could only do 225 for 12-15 reps. The combine bench press test for linemen should really be 315lbs for reps.
  8. If the Bills really do plan to run true 12-personnel sets, don't be surprised if we draft another pass-catching TE in the later rounds.
  9. It's very telling that Dallas didn't draft Mayer after Kincaid was stolen out from under their noses. Then Cincy passed on him when they have a need. I'm guessing few, if any, teams had Mayer rated higher than Kincaid.
  10. It's actually not false. You must not be counting Kincaid's stats at U of San Diego. Career stats Kincaid: 175 rec, 2,623 yards, 34 TDs Mayer: 180 rec, 2,099 yards, 18 TDs
  11. If we get Hopkins, I'm cool with Campbell at #27. I agree with others that there's no way he lasts into the 50s.
  12. I too am a fan of that movie. Not very realistic they way the draft plays out, but fun anyway.
  13. I agree with the majority that a MLB at #27 in this draft is a reach. But what if they do draft Campbell & he turns into this generation's Ray Lewis? I think we'd all be pretty happy. You never know, half this board wanted Josh Rosen...
  14. 2020 Playoff game vs Texans. Got to watch the first half, then had to run an indoor baseball practice. There was no cell service or wifi inside the facility, so I couldn't even check the score. Bills were up 13-0 at halftime, and I assumed we'd be OK. I was horrified when I finally got outside & saw what happened.
  15. I could live with that draft. I think Wanya Morris is a bit high, there'd be a better OL pick available at that spot.
  16. Any of the midget WRs who are primarily slot guys being projected in the 20s-30s. If one slides to the 3rd, sure. But we don't need another midget badly enough to draft one early.
  17. Maybin I knew he was a bust in waiting, like everyone else. I didn't think anyone would take him in round 1, let alone us.
  18. Enjoy your 63 catches for 947 yards 4 TDs, Odell.
  19. Zack Kuntz- TE Jack Campbell😱
  20. Give me Campbell or give me Death! I'm even OK with him at #27, as long as we go OL/WR with the next 2.
  21. TEs almost never contribute much as a rookie, most take 2-3 seasons. A first round TE pick is usually one of 2 things: a luxury pick for a contending team that doesn't have other glaring needs, or a lower level team that's is 1-2 years away from playoff contention & can endure TE growing pains. We are in the middle of our championship window & have too many immediate needs for our first rounder to be only used in sub-packages.
  22. If this happened, there'd be an angry mob at 1 Bills Dr with pitchforks & torches. Beane would have to be airlifted out by helicopter.
  23. Golladay has lost way more than a step since his last good season in 2019. He also lost any semblance of hands he once had. He was benched for Hodgins last year, and his only game with significant playing time (100% of snaps) was the Giants' Week 17 game in which they sat their starters. That tells you all you need to know.
  24. In Rapp's 3 full seasons, he has averaged 95 tackles & 3 INTs. Wow!
