I don't think Claypool was a malcontent in Pittsburgh, he had a great rookie year for them (873yds, 11 TDs). The Steelers traded him away because rookie George Pickens was surpassing him in the pecking order. If somebody offers you a draft pick in the 30s for a guy who's 3rd on your depth chart at his position, you take it & run- regardless of his attitude. His attitude issues were all with the Bears. The guy is clearly a jackass now, but I don't think he came into the league as one.

I was just thinking about his hit in the Miami game & trying to remember any other times he really made a hit. The only one I could think of was when he knocked Dane Jackson out cold. Yep, Edmunds' hardest hit as a Bill was on a teammate.

In the infamous 9-6 loss to the Jags in 2021, we had also just beat Miami the previous week, and were flying high at 6-2. The Jags were 1-6 at the time. Our Josh threw 2 picks & lost fumble on a sack by their Josh. Crazy things happen to us. After typing this out, I'm actually finding myself more nervous about this game than the Miami game.

And the NFL AFC offensive player of the week for week 4 is Josh Allen!

Josh has now been named OPOW 12 times. He's 2nd among active players behind only Aaron Rodgers, and tied for 23rd all-time (OPOW dates back to the 80s). -
I loved seeing him pull, totally sealed it off for Josh's rushing TD.

Fixed that for you: Who cares...coming off an Achilles injury he will be a shell of his former self for the rest of his life...every dropback will cause him to have to plant on that leg. Nobody is ever the same athletically after an achilles tear. There have been a couple players who've still been decent like Crabtree, but never what they were before. It's a death sentence for 90+% of players. A 40yr old QB? Toast. Look back at Marino post-achilles, that'll be Rodgers if he even decides to play again.

Daquon Jones needs more mention in this thread. Dude was a savage today.

McD has been awesome. It sucks that we wasted the past 2 seasons with Frazier.

9/24/23 Week 3 GAMEDAY Bills vs Commanders Pregame Thread

Brown's best career game IMO is when we played Washington 2 years ago. He was 1-on-1 with Young much of the game. Young did an outside speed rush on just about every pass play, rarely a counter move or anything else. Brown just get kept riding him out of the play and neutralized him. I hope Young does the same thing today. -
I live in the Chicago area. I've been telling friends who were happy about signing Edmunds to talk to me a few weeks into the season, once they understand. He did have 16 tackles this week. I didn't watch the game so I can only guess that most were after a significant gain, who knows...

First Arthur Moats, Now Leonard Floyd, Anyone else I'm forgetting?

Too soon to say if Rodgers is done for good. If he does play again, he'll look like post-achilles Marino barely able to move in the pocket, which would surely lead to more big hits. 40yr olds coming off achilles tears are never close to the same. -
Joe Burrow's new deal could get done before kickoff

Higgins & Boyd are UFAs after this season, and Chase is up the following year. Higgins is a goner for sure, some team will offer him top-10 WR money & no way he'll pass that up, or could Cincy match. They could maybe re-sign Boyd if he comes cheap. I could also see them letting both walk and signing a mid-tier vet & drafting another WR. There is no way they don't make Chase the highest paid WR in the league, and losing other key players is cost of doing that. -
I listened to him all the time on Sirius radio back 15+ years ago, his knowledge was incredible. Haven't heard him in years, but glad to hear he was still doing his thing into his 90s.

Bernard ran a 4.59 & definitely plays slower than that. While I doubt Deion Jones is still running as fast as the 4.39 from his pro day anymore, but he's sure to be a hell of a lot faster than Bernard, or Dodson. When you consider that Jones already has 5 seasons of what Bernard/Dodson dream to someday achieve once, they're not similar at all. Dorian on the other hand, I think can be a player. Obviously not at MLB this year, but eventually.

Yeah I agree on an Matakevich. Makes no sense to pay $2.5M for a an average ST-only player.

Josh Allen and starters will play against the Bears

I really want to see Josh manipulate Edmunds in coverage with his eyes, the way Mahomes always abused him doing that. Make him think you're throwing to whatever speedy replacement-level KC receiver is running the crossing route, while Kelce just sits down in the zone for a 20 yard gain. -
Connor McGovern Injury ????????????????

I've had a grade 2 MCL sprain, the 6-week variety. It swelled up pretty fast & hurt like hell to put weight on it, there's no way I could've been walking around on the sideline after it happened. If McGovern was really moving around, I'm hopeful it's of the milder variety. -
If you were the #1 overall draft prospect as a Junior

What if you forced your way to the Bills & then sucked? If Beane gave up multiple 1st rounders to get you & you were a bust, all of Bills Mafia would hate you for the rest of your days. You think JP Losman would be welcomed back by the fans? -
There was one play early (first drive, I think) where the pocket was clean & Allen could've stepped up if needed. But he bailed out to the right, directly into where TJ Watt was headed. Brown was doing a really good job with Watt on the play, and that fell apart when Allen rolled into the danger zone. It's that stuff that concerns me.

Well that was an absolute crap fest - PostGame thread

Dorsey's play calling with the starters was still idiotic. Our OTs are getting throttled by Pitt's edge rushers, and we're still featuring long-developing 20 yard routes with double moves. To the point that Josh had to move around the pocket & evade rushers while waiting for receivers to complete a route.
