Coleman with literally the slowest time of all the WRs & looked stiff as all hell. I can't see any way he can get separation at the NFL level. No way he gets drafted before round 3.
-
Mitchell & Legette may not even make it to #28 now...

Johnny Wilson looks like the next Kelvin Benjamin.

No team will trade for Zach Wilson. Even if somebody was thinking he'd be worth a 7th round pick, the entire world knows he's going to be cut.

What realistic Free Agents are on your wishlist for the Bills?

I'd be on-board with all except Dobbins. I don't think most people understand just how catastrophic an achilles tear is for an NFL skill player. There is almost a 0% chance that Dobbins will ever be an effective player again. There has never been an NFL RB who has been anywhere near their previous level after that injury, almost all are out of the league within a year of their attempted return- see below. This is a 2 year old list, but you can add Cam Akers to it as well. -
I tried to watch it when it first came out, I had to tap out a few minutes in. I just couldn't do it, the part that hit me was in the beginning when Bruce said "everytime I watch it, I still think it's gonna go through". I want to try it again now, my sons are teens & only know what I've told them & what they've seen in clips, I guess it's time.

When you're cash-strapped, paying a gadget player in Taysom Hill $40MM is probably not the best way to get out of financial trouble.

This mean Boyd is a goner. Cincy likely will be drafting a new slot WR, but that leaves another outside WR on the board for us.
-
Mel's board is great for us. The 2 best fits for us (without trading up) are not even on his board- Franklin & Legette. The fact that all the WR draft rankings are all over the place after the top-3, really speaks to the volume & depth of this draft class. This could be the best WR draft ever.

Top-5 Defensive players often sign 1yr cheap prove-it deals with rivals, so why not?

Hester belongs nowhere near the HOF unless he buys a ticket. I also couldn't believe McMichael made it. I'm in the Chicago area & saw his whole career. I loved the guy as a player, but I never would've said he's a HOFer. I'd argue that Kyle Williams was a better DT, & he won't get a sniff from the voters. This is like when Harold Baines made the baseball HOF, it opens the door for a bunch of "pretty good" HOFers in the coming years.

Tuel Time maybe? Peterman's 3 TD to 12 INT ratio for the Bills has to win it, but I'd vote Tuel for next worst.

Bills to add Ronald Curry as quarterbacks coach (updated)
947 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Curry's senior season in HS, he had 59 TD passes, 16 rushing TDs, and added a return TD. That's 76 TDs in 14 games. -
Any analysis on Ricky Pearsall? I'd much rather have him than Worthy.

I really liked Curry as a player for the Raiders. I had no idea he was coaching in the league. I'm intrigued. -
Legette's height has already been proven to be an exaggeration, he measured 6'1" at the senior bowl.
-
Boyd is a Slot WR, and is projected to get an $8.7M/yr contract. We don't need a slot & probably can't pay that much anyway. I'd argue that Shakir is already as good as Boyd, and on his way up.
-
I really want Ricky Pearsall. He reminds me a lot of Cooper Kupp, and not just the beard...

I really don't see us trading up this year. We have a bunch of late picks, but those aren't getting you up even 1 slot in the 1st. We already traded our 3rd this year for Douglas, we only have the compensatory 3rd coming. This board would implode if Beane traded another 3rd rounder to move up a few spots. There will be a very good WR available at #28, and we need our rounds 1-3 picks to contribute as rookies.

Brady is only slightly more charismatic than Belichick, not exactly somebody made for this job. Plus, I'd have to guess roughly 50% America dislikes him too. There is little chance he excels at this. I can't comprehend how he'd get $375M to call games for 10 years without ever having done it before.

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”
947 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem with Diggs is the complete lack of effort on most plays that aren't a pass with him as the #1 option. On run plays, he barely moves, rarely attempts to block anyone, and basically just stands there way too often. On pass plays with others as the primary, he often runs his route at 60% unless he sees Josh scramble, in which case he speeds up & tries to get open. When he's doubled, he often just gives up & dogs it. This stuff wouldn't fly in youth football, and they'd be called out the first time it happened. I can't believe he's still getting away with it. This wasn't an issue his first few years here, but now is a major one. If your #1 WR isn't doing the little things, it brings the whole offense down. -
We're one of the only teams that routinely pays special teams "aces", and our special teams still suck. If other coaches are getting good results with guys on their roster who also back up other positions, why are we paying ST-only guys like Matakevich $2.5M? We need a new ST coach, and also stop paying for primary special teamers.

Is he going to develop further, or is he just a tall Chris Kelsay? I like Rousseau as a player, but so far he hasn't stood out like I expected.

The WR#2 Market (Spotrac Breakdown and Comparison)
947 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mooney & Samuel are Slot WRs, we do not need that. Shakir is a very good Slot & will likely be for years to come. What we need is an outside WR. I think we draft that guy in the 1st, but we also need a bargain-priced vet for that role. The ones who fit that bill are Chark & Josh Reynolds. Chark would probably be the cheaper of the 2, but I'd be ok with either.
