Your logic is horribly flawed...you don't draft to replace people. You take the best players available and make the entire team stronger. In the Bills mind, Wood was the highest rated player left on their board at 28. That's why he was selected. I don't know if Brad Butler personally offended you in some way, but calling him a journeyman lineman is ridiculous!
-
How about 0 for 4. Whitner? Yeah, right! Butler. Best all around OL last year. Kelsay. The only one on the list that even has a chance to be cut.....maybe 10% Parrish. You just don't cut elite punt returners for the heck of it. Ko Simpson is my suprise cut...if that's even a surprise.

Brad Butler! debate his merits at guard

I agree. Please don't say Peters was the best lineman on the team last year......he was a friggin turnstile! -
Brad Butler! debate his merits at guard

I agree..... He wasn't moved to RG because he sucked at Tackle. -
Ephraim Salaam - still available?

This guy is strictly a Right Tackle at this point....IMO He's worth signing if you have an injury or you want veteran depth. -
Great read. My favorite part of the story: "The common trait among Hangartner, Wood and Levitre is that, in addition to being highly intelligent, they're physical and play with a nastiness that should serve them well when tangling with the brute force and aggressiveness Wilfork, Jenkins, and Ferguson display on a regular basis." SMASHMOUTH!

Are you his mother? His boyfriend? Why would you write this without some sort of proof.....a link or something please!
-
This would be the ideal situation to me. O-line depth is crucial!
-
You win the worst post of the day award! McGee, McGee, McGee......holy sh--, it's Terrence Mcgee Leodis McKelvin DID step up....in his rookie year.
-
That is the ideal setup... Stability on the right side, a smart center, a bulldozer for a left guard and a veteran LT.
-
Quick find estro.... I'm all for bringing the guy in on the Bills terms, not his. He was once a good up and coming left tackle.... now he's a vet with a history of back problems. I still say go get him, but don't write his name in stone for the LT position for the entire season.

Agreed. The Bills current white away jersey is a joke. Navy blue shoulders? Royal blue numbers? Not sure what metrosexual yuppy designed these, but they are horrible! Let's just simplify and bring the AFL jersey back full time, home and away.

To me: It means gimmick offenses work in college.... The QB's who run these gimmick offenses, generally fail in the NFL. Rivers ran a legit offense and stayed 4 years, by far the most impressive college QB on that list!
-
Plus, the kid ran the Texas Tech spread gimmick offense. It's like taking a Hawaii QB, you just don't do it. Basically, if a college QB didn't run some type of pro style offense don't bother. Or be willing to dedicate 2 years to him learning how to take snaps from under center. Weak arm, gimmick college offense = no NFL career.

I would like to see the Bills go back to royal blue, period. All that market research that said navy blue translates better on TV than royal blue is outdated. Most of us have High Def TV's now and bright colors look amazing in HD. The Bills are meant to be Royal Blue, Red and White.....PLEASE GET RID OF THE SUPERDARK NAVY BLUE FOR GOOD!

So glad we didn't take Pettigrew
SteamRoller67 replied to SouthGeorgiaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Lions fans boo everything now...they're jaded by years of poor leadership and idiotic management. Pettigrew is a stud TE in every way. I didn't want the Bills to grab him at 11 either, but at 28 would have been fine with me. That being said, I loved the Bills draft this year.....4th round gem Shawn Nelson will be a great addition to the passing game. -
Do You Agree With This?

Here's my problem with retiring numbers.... At some point, 20 or 30 years down the road are we going to have QB's wearing double digit numbers in the twenties? I hate retired numbers in any sport. You can reward the player by hanging his jersey name/number in the rafters or on a stadium wall, but the number itself should always be available to future players. -
New England's AFL throwback jersey is red. http://www.nflshop.com/family/index.jsp?ca...3541059.3541066 Tennessee Titans is baby blue http://www.nflshop.com/family/index.jsp?ca...3541059.3541065 Something has to give.... I believe the Bills will unveil a white 1964-65 throwback jersey this summer. The league doesn't want a royal blue versus baby blue contrast on TV. Someone has to wear white.

So, in your opinion Pickett can play DE in a 3-4 defense? He's considered slow for a DT... how slow do you think he would be playing in a 3-4 as a DE?
-
Honest mistake..... I hear Rice, I think about Jerry first and dinner second!
-
I'm all for Simeon getting a tryout. The guy was a beast...."was" being the key word. If he could contribute 10 plays a game on 3rd down and pressure the QB, he's worth the veteran minimum to me. Wendell Bryant was an underacheiving DT from day one.
-
I've wondered the same thing. A one or two year offer only. He played the same cover 2 defense the Bills run his whole career!
-
NO THANKS.... Old, slow 3-4 inside linebackers don't convert well to 4-3 middle backers. He needs a 3-4 defense or he's out the league in 2 years.

If Trent truly stumbles and stinks up the joint, the only option is the 2010 draft. Fitzpatrick is a career backup with the Rams/Bengals and now the Bills. These 2 guys will be the Stafford/Sanchez of the 2010 draft: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma College football's most accurate passer could emerge as the top overall pick in 2010. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas A year from now McCoy emerges as a top-10 pick. Per Todd McShay at ESPN......
