Things looking better for signing Pisa
djcalvin79 replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hey look, wise guy is back. didn't get lucky lately dude? i wouldn't mind listening to a Pats fan if he had valid points, but not on a thread that says "Things looking better for signing Pisa". if he's a legit member of TSW he can freely start another thread and not hijack this one! also note how i said -
pot-stirring, or pot-smoking? we're in no position to decide upgrades/downgrades before the team has even played a down.. remember this thread, we'll be visiting it often once the season begins.

no one's changing any one else's minds here with their allegations/revelations.. you either deeply dislike the Pats* or else you write their name without the * and are dying to kiss Kraft's ass i preferred an earlier time when the Patriettes had their rear ends handed to them, what goes around comes around, then goes around again.. i'm young, i know i'll be around to see the end of this era and the return of the Patriettes..

Things looking better for signing Pisa

last i checked this was a Bills board, on a Bills backer website - not a Pats* discussion thread on an AFC website. afcfan1, please find yourself some other forum to divest yourself of your (probably videotaped) indepth knowledge of your favorite team. moderator, could you please eliminate this guy? if i wanted to talk to more idiots about the Pats* i'd just talk football here at work! actually, tom bundchen coming back to practise has been the highlight for all the folk here in Mass after they watched the Booins and Sillytics get unceremoniously dumped out of the playoffs. i (and i assume most of you Bills fans out there) come here to read about the Bills. not the Pats*. if people want to start non-Bills conversations please do it on a separate thread, with a clear non-Bills titled thread. -

This week's Sports Illustrated cover: Tom Brady
djcalvin79 replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i've lost a lot of respect for Peter King in the last couple of years with his fawning over Favre and now Brady.. however, there was something there that caught my eye now here's some coaching lessons that our staff could do well to learn.. maybe they do use them, maybe they don't.. i don't rank our coaching that highly that i trust them to throw in wrinkles during training.. unless it's Bobby April who has shown time and again that he can be creative and inventive - link (funnily enough, April actually credits DJ with a lot of praise that's given to the ST unit!!) -
Thank you, that had to be said. Of course, the nonsense will never end. Besides, it goes well with my morning coffee.

Interesting Tim Graham article on

considering there are about 300-odd players at the combine each year, starting in the early 80s i believe.. that's a lot of players!! definitely a rare talent! -

I never thought I would say this, but ..

that sounds about right.. Pats* will definitely not be worse than before. I believe we should be most fearful of a team that we're 0-16 against. I'd be glad to even gain a split against them, but we have to get some sort of passrush going to prevent Brady running up the scores. It'd be great if the OC could throw in a few trick plays, devious schemes, anything really.. because what we've been trying hasn't worked in the last few years. I'd hate for us to get swept yet again, it's getting hard to live here in Mass. and deal with all these idiots here on mornings after we play! Fins have a primarily run-based offense with Chad dumping-off often. We haven't been able to stop Ronnie Brown effectively and this will haunt us. We need to get out running game in gear to negate Porter, Taylor & Co, and then bite them going long when they pack the box. The NJ Jets are building a team in the Ravens mold - scary defense, minimal offense - no surprise really with Rex Ryan there. We will have to find a way of scoring 20+ against them to win both times, or else don't be surprised to see us lose with 13-7 type scorelines. I would say the best chance we would have to put points on the board against the Jets will be via special teams and turnovers caused by our D. -
that comes from being beaten by them twice last year

haha.. yes! let's get Shockey to join the posse while we're at it!

CNNSI Ranks the best backfields in the NFL...

i'd rather the rest of the league underestimated our backfield and get too cocky when playing against us.. we don't do too well when praised to the high heavens anyways -

ok, we'll amend that: BUFFALO HATES THE HABS better now? -
I agree with you there, there was a definite drop off on assumed talent level among OT after Smith, and I don't think Oher was worth the risk either. If Maybin has Poz's work ethic from PSU, he might turn out to be a hardworking football player (see Kelsay, Chris). To become a really good DE, he will have to show some magic of his own.

Last year, 2008 was the playoffs or bust season
djcalvin79 replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
absolutely! seems like a lot of the players have gotten far too comfy in their roster spots playing for Coach Nice Guy.. DJ is impassive at game time, as is Bellicheat.. the only difference is that Bellicheat is impassive while he is scheming, plotting and being devious.. while behind DJ's blank stare is nothing. no wheels spinning, no machines crunching data trying to make decisions, nothing. only a little boy screaming "i wanna go home, mama". -
having flogged the Pisa-contract thread to death, we've now made the jump to arguing which one of two past-their-prime RBs is better.. which is redundant since Rhodes is here & Taylor is at the Pats* and never shall the twain meet except in battle can we talk about something more relevant like what the new wedge regulations will do to our return units, or if Bobby April will make a good head coach?
