People enjoy lots of things that are dumb. Should we ban them all? Some people ENJOY smoking and drinking while watchign football, it is just a fact. I am a non smoker non drinker but I empathize completely it is ridiculous to not set up a smokking section, it is gods green earth the Ralph is standing on, not the inside of an airplane

Hard to believe the brain trust did not draft Gabbert. They got one right finally. Even the blind squirrel......

By the way especially for a piss-poor team like the Bills, these rules are a killer. I am sure that if people could enjoy their tailgate experience, have some freedom to use a smoking area, and not be banned from taking a little cheap real booze in by TSA-quality full body searches (for your own 'safety' (Eff you very much!!)), maybe there would have been a few less empty seats for the last couple of home games. Drive away the last of the buying public that can stomach your sh**tty product, excellent strategy.

how is our excellent UDFA gem Mr. Jabari Greer looking? Good thing we developed this talent for the Saints, that is what the minor leagues are for! He was essentially called up to the Game when the Bills let him go.
-
The taking away of freedoms and the fun of the game at the Ralph is not limited to smoking. Of course there should be a smoking area, but the parking mandates, the searches down to the toes for an illicit flask, etc. It is a footbal game not disneyland. I do not smoke but I am against all these rules. Let people enjoy the games, for Pete's sake.

I am saying that the Bills may offer something like that, but another team, will offer slightly more, and Bell will move on. LT is a tough position to fill, if a serviceable-to-good one comes on the market, reasonably young, still coachable (and Karl Malones son to boot!)there will be interest from other teams. Given Littmans stance on paying our own people what they are worth, Bell is a goner. Should have been redone LAST year but we did not do it.
-
we could have had Starks also. They got a starting tailback AND matthews in that draft.... salt in the wound, the starting tailback they got is from Buffalo. We got Spiller, who may develop, and who was our 6th rounder again?? By the way is Starks injured or benched?
-
Bell should get low to medium LT money with incentives for staying healthy and a decent signing bonus. In fact, he WILL get that. Just will likely be by another team.
-
Bell will get some nice money in a new deal. Some will be incentive based, but is will still be more than Overdorf/Littman will pay. He is as good as gone. As usual, they waited too long being cheap.. As soon as they realized this 7th rounder had legit NFL talent they should have signed him up, but no joy. Now we are going to have to really hope Harston is as good as he looked.
-
We need a center, Wood has an injury that will take a year to come back from fully, it may be training camp 2013 before he is in full effect. LG and RG seem to be solid. RT we have our guy and have to give him the time. LT combo Hairston/Bell we can hope to get almost a full season out of.
-
Our coaching was so poor then that this is by no means a foregone conclusion. The Bills could easily have coached Rodgers into a non-career. Adna few years on the bench behind Farve, and good coaching, could have resulted in JP being a good qb
-
Pears is serviceable to pretty good. Bell is actually pretty good, Hairston looked ok but unproven completely. Bell is pretty good and due a new contract - he will be gone, Littman-stylee. Ditto for SJ.

With the injuries will they let Jasper play

Is it possible that Jasper is not ready to play NFL football? Is that at all possible despite is great size? -
Bill's have a chance against Denver
zazie replied to VirginiaMike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Back when the record was 5-2 I looked over the upcoming schedule and saw this as a sure win. Now we are reduced to "Bills have a chance". Ugh. -
Years ago Checkers on Hertel used to have a great one; living in Thailand I have not been there in a long while but I can still taste those, very special with a cold Canadien. And great horseradish

Bills needs: 1. New owner 2. See #1 3. Ad infinitum

Surprising how many chances Ruvell Martin had to completely blow, and Aiken has not seen any playing time. Odd.

Will Fred Jackson get a contract extension?
zazie replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Fred, Buddy promised in good faith to hammer out the extension. While Buddy strikes me as being perhaps not as great as we all had thought, he does not strike me as a blowhard or a flake either. I think FJ gets his new deal in the offseason this year. Hope so for everyones sake. -
Emerging Sub Plot in Draft could effect Bills ...
zazie replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the rookie salary cap in place, NO team will forego the chance to take a franchise qb. It is never going to happen. Nice dream, though. -
I thought Spiller looked pretty good.
zazie replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CJ may have gotten a "Aaron Rodgers" career advantage that will mpay dividends for the Bills in the next few years. A couple of years to sit on the sidelines and watch and learn and get stronger, before being thrown into the fray, maybe we got lucky on something (for once). -
If Ngata never ever has another good play, his career far outshines that of Donte Whitner even if Whitner plays another 10 years.

Assuming the Bills lose one more game ...
zazie replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Respectfully, every team has injuries to their best players every year. 2nd string can be coached up and play well. Did not happen for us though, not this year, not 2008, not in a long while. Talent-wise we have a few first string guys that are pretty good... but will SJ be here next year? Will Wood play at the same level by next year already? Will they pay FJ and make him a happy contributor now that the Pears contract is done? I have had the same mindset as you for many years - next year will be better, etc. Just losing my steam, the DJ years were exceedingly tediuos and painful, and we seem to be in much the same spot now sadly. Bring back Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton or coach Marv Levy - let's save America and save the Bills! -

With those teams you mention there is at some point light of day again. This Bills team has a dearth of talent and of coaching, we are going to lose our best players to free agency, we piss off our other best players with contract shenanigans, etc. etc. Where is the end of the tunnel for the Bills? Seems like they will be in the play-offs again soon, on the first....of never. Hope I am wrong and something turns around/ -
Easley is a very lucky guy, he has lasted about as long in the NFL as a typical 4th rounder and has put no ubuse on his body at all as yet. Given he played football for one season or so only at Uconn, he is getting a nice chuck of change after college with zero sacrifice. Kudos, they should all be so lucky!
