The time to re-sign Bell was 12 months ago. Now he is likely gone, another good player developed by the NFL's farm team and let go due to silly player contract management. I await the Levitre signing but I am not overly optimistic. We got very lucky with SJ, lightning will not strike twice. We need to re-up ALL good players who are entering their contract year. Fingers crossed the FO has learned something.
-
they got a tremendous amount of value for the pick. Great trade for the Rams, no matter what. I wish we could do that once in a while.

he is a good player and the bills should sign him. the sj signing gave me a small glimmer of hope!

OT - Christian Laettner in debt $30 million
zazie replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes they had some bad luck which is being compounded by credotors forcing them to sell into a down market. Which means they may never be able to pay off ALL the creditors. And with this terrible publicity. thye will find it difficult to start again at least in this business. And I am pretty sure that mad hens assistant to NBA head coach is a difficult jump. Nichols bastard! -

Sounds like they kept raising money while some ventures were failing,. Very bad faith way to do business. But it was not a ponzi scheme - they did not use new investors to keep old investors happy. They just effed up. Stupid, but civil in nature, not criminal. Saving grace and silver lining. -

After Close To 15 Years of Blasting Them
zazie replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone in another trhread aluded to the fact that the body is a system and maybe the shattered leg threw things out of whack. I am hoping for the best but I really believe Wood needs a lot of time to really get right before coming back, or the same thing will happen. 2013 we should be looking at. So for 2012 at the least, we need someone else. -

Nice analysis. Bell is gone IMO, the Bils would have signed him by now if they wanted him. So they will try Hairston at LT, a reasonably large downgrade for that position, and a move which also downgrades the RT position which went from strong to weak, as there will be no capable back-up. Why have we not yet signed Levitre to an extension??? He is next years fO TRAINWRECK HAPPENING IN SLOW MOTION AS WE ALL WITNESS IT HELPLESSLY. -
That is very generous of you. He is not serviceable at all. He is well below average in the 4-3 and has done nothing for the Bills over his entire career, but cost us plenty in both money and points against. You have blinders on to not realize that. It is sad we still have that guy on the team and blind fans supporting that. Cutting him does not create any hole since the huge hole is actually, Kelsay himself.
-
Kelsay shound have been cut every single year for the last 6 years. He is aful and only has a spot in the NFL on the Bills. Why, I don't know. Had we cut him 5 years ago, he would have been a retired player five years ago already, no othe team would put up with his solid lack of production. Awful player, epitomizes the ****ty Bills.

She is correct though even if it is not good etiquette. The receivers for the Patriots picked a bad time to choke on easy plays. -
Byrd , Levitre, who else needs to be extended NOW?
zazie replied to zazie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still tend to think of ACLs and other injuries that require a year or more of rehab as pretty devastating and career threatening. Maybe mediacl scinece has caught up to ACLs though, you could be right. Either way Wood is injury prone and needs to have an playing-time incentive contract IMO -
Wolf is from Buffalo, by way of the Vaderland.

Wood is a bit more tricky. It has to be an incentivized deal with renumeration based on playing time. Decent signing bonus but on the small side. He blew his ACL, a devastating injury for a non-athlete, even more so for a guy that needs his body to perform at a professional level. Anyway if I am not mistaken Wood is under contract thru 2013, we have another year on that one before we have to worry about a Bills FO brain-fart. -

The SJ situation is such a joke. Good teams extend the rookie contracts of players that perform. Now we have 2 more entering contract years. Should we not just extend them now? -
Steve Johnson on the Jim Rome show today (2/3/12)
zazie replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SJ: Franchise tag or gone, there is no door 3. I am over it actually. I am thinking about Byrd and Levitre now, we need to contract them or see the same scenario next year. Can't the FO learn from these mis-steps??? If 2012 season begins and these guys have not been extended, wow. -

Kyle got his big contract and is in semi-retirement for the time being. Hopefully he will want to play again, but you can never tell. -
Godell may just save the Bills afterall...
zazie replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hit the nail on the head. Barring Facebook making its new corporate headquarters in the M&T building, the Bills are gone within the decade. Pray that RWs medical staff can keep his living corpse breathing for as long as possible, if you really care about the Bills being in Buffalo. His last breath will coincide with the last breath of pro football in Buffalo. Sabres town from then on! -

Stevie Johnson is a class act in my book now!
zazie replied to fansince88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even should his heart say yes, his agent will say no. Rightfully so. Unless the Bills offer the most money. They had every chance, and they let him play out his contract. I guy that does not get hurt, does not complain, and produces. The Bills are destined to be awful. Please note that NOW is the time to resign Byrd and Levitre but we will not, and next year, people will be hoping their hearts find it in them to sign with the Bills. -

At least the Bills were able to save some dough by underpaying this guy on the last year of his rookie 7th round deal! Thanks heavans we did not resign him last year at any point, give him a well deserved raise and lock his services up! -

If you have ever stayed at a nice hotel in a real city, you would understand the difference. Buffalo hotels are a place to sleep, not a destination in themselves. Rochester is white collar and in the recent past had thriving companies like Bausch and Lomb, Kodak, and Xerox, it is no surprise they have some better hotels. Buffalo has....UB. That said, a hotel is for sleeping. Get over yourself, Marcia. -
