I'm going to be in the minority... but I love Mike Martz as a coach. Everywhere he has been the offense has been better when he was there and worse when he left. I could care less about running the football... all I care about is points scored, and if you look at stats every team he has been w/ was better offensively when he was there and worse when he wasn't
I would take Martz in a heart beat & build a strong defence!

On February 4, 1993, after the Bills had appeared in their 3rd straight Super Bowl, Bill Polian was fired as general manager. Polian wasn't fired because he wasn't doing a good job, he was fired because he didn't get along with treasurer, Jeff Littmann, for reasons unknown to all except those close to owner Ralph Wilson, Littmann and Polian himself.
In his closing press conference, Bill Polian said of the team that he built, "They're a very special group of men. Cherish them, you will not see their like again."
100% in agreement, no one can argue any different....Polian was the Best in an has prove he can do it with other franchises. Nuff said..

Chris Polian and sign Tony Dungy as his coach. All agreed, right!!
-
Terrance Cody, DT, Alabama
This guy is the stud we need next year, he can dominate 2-3 line men easily. Pick Cody!
-
No, becuase his replacement was a fine GM in his own right.
He is the only one to take this team to the superbowl. Butler never was able to pull it off.
-
The day the Bills fired Bill Polian the best G.M. in the league. Anyone else agree!

God bless the Spielman family and our prayers go out to them. Stephanie fought Cancer long & hard now Rest in Peace.

Yep, I remember that post!

i did dumbass he's still a noone...google Marc Ross and learn something.... much better choice
I didn't need to google Marc Ross, I know football. He doesn't have a chance...He is not even on the radar screen, move on. Go Bills!
-
he knows plenty about football...you're the idiot spewing about how you want martz or whoever more than shanahan, its jst Gabriel isn't that well known because the bears suck incase you haven't noticed...can we hire a GM from a winning franchise like Indi or NE or Pittsburg if we are going with the first year no experience GM route
Stop talking with garbage in your mouth, and google G. Gabriel.

I think it would actually be quite interesting and potentially quite potent to develop a Rams style offense here in the snowy east. Certainly, the Greatest Show on Earth sty;e game does not transfer exactly here in an outdoor stadium in a windy Ralph.
However, the key to this style was not throwing away the run to pass but in throwing away the TE as a checkdowm target in place of downfield passing to the WR.
The Bills actually have the talent at WR right now to do this and also RBs with enough pass catching ability to be a cutrate Marshall Faulk in this style which did use Faulk effectively in the run attack at its best.
That is what i am talking about, exciting offense not boring...
-
Martz?!? Surely, you must be joking.
You wouldn't love to watch his offensive magic work on our pityfull AVP calls. I am sure he could develop the passing game and then the running game would be a hammer attack....
-
Trestman is even worse.
Why do you say Trestman is bad? He took his team to the Grey Cup in his first year, that is alot better than our Bills at 3-6 this year.record
-
who is Greg Gabriel?
and youd rather have Marc Trestman or Mike Martz, than Shanahan?
You really don't know anything about football then, do you if you have no clue about G. Gabriel...
-
We'll get the guy from the Alouettes.
Trestman has plenty of experiece and would be able to some good for the offense and is cheap..
-
The new G.M. should be Greg Gabriel with strong Buffalo roots. H.C. Marc Trestman or Mike Martz and keep Perry around and work on improving the Defense...

the sad part about that is. Eric Berry is going to be a great nfl player. Personaly I have my sights set on Terrence Cody
I agree Cody will be a beast on the Def Line & stuff the run! This is a safe pick!
-
It is not the quarterback, it is the coaching and the O-line... Gibbs won with Theisman, Williams, Shraeder and Rypien.... puleaase. This is the coach not adapting to his players and sticking to the only thing he knows which doesn't work anymore... definition of insanity.
Your right its the young line that make the QB look terrible.. Inexperience but they will get better....
-
I'm predicting Herm Edwards. He's at the right price, has a successful year of coaching in his past, has recently failed with his second team...plus he knows the AFC East.
I think that you may be right! Good point.
-
I would hire Greg Gabriel as GM & he has local roots and then bring in Marc Trestman who is very offensive minded to run as head coach, Any thoughts? I would also fire Modrak & elevate Buddy Nix to the Head scout & put some money into our scoutning dept. that is the R&D of football.
-
I'm glad I was able to see that... Might just have to fire up the VCR and show a game from a real team on Sunday.
Ah that was a great era! At least you have some video tape, I don't.
