Bills still interested in Jared Gaither
Beastly Dareus replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not being a stickler, Im just saying its obvious the articles where saying the Bills where interested in the PAST and that nowhere in the article does it say they are still interested. Theres a difference between hammering someone for a typo and hammering someone for misleading and not knowing the verb tense something is written in. Incorrect.... OBD doesn't approve every article especially opinion articles or analysis articles -
Im a Missouri Tigers fan and I find it surprising that a mock draft has Blaine Gabbert in the top 25 picks. Gabbert is a good QB BUT he will not be taken ahead of Andrew Luck. Ryan Mallett and Jake Locker. Blaine Gabbert is a QB of the system just like Chase Daniels was but Gabbert has more potential and additional I dont expect to see Gabbert enter the 2011 draft and skipping his senior season when he can improve his skills futher and become a top 10 pick in 2012. If the Bills dont solve their QB problems this year and Edwards/Fitz/Brohm continue to play below average then the QB I would like the Bills to draft is Andrew Luck. Luck has a great arm and great accuracy and he has a perfect tight spiral. In my mind Luck is the perfect QB fit in Buffalo. I like Locker but his arm strength is only average but hes a smart accurate passer. Mallett im not too sure about yet. Depends on what he does this year. He struggled in Michigan then he had a good year last year. All I know is the potential of the 2011 NFL Draft class is through the roof. As long as the following QB's or even just a few declare like most are saying: Andrew Luck Standford, Ryan Mallett-Arkansas, Terrell Pryor-Ohio State (Depending on improvement), Blaine Gabbert-Missouri and Nick Foles- Arizona Even if those QB's don't declare you have: Jake Locker-Washington, Christian Ponder- Florida State, Pat Devlin- Delaware, Ricky Stanzi- Iowa, and Scott Tolzien- Wisconsin. All all these QB's as of right now have the potential to be 1st and 2nd round QB's.

Bills still interested in Jared Gaither
Beastly Dareus replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the English Language there is a thing called PAST TENSE and PRESENT TENSE... words like: "sniffed" and "showed" are PAST TENSE words. Meaning the Bills in the past maybe 3-5 weeks ago contacted Baltimore regarding Gaither. But if you read all the reports and stories Baltimore put Gaither on the trading block as a ploy to get Gaither to go to off-season workouts. Please stop posting stories from the past that we have all heard already, just because Buffalo Rumblings and Bills Digest and other Buffalo media sports outlets are about 2 weeks late picking up the story it doesn't mean its news. In conclusion.. Nowhere in those articles does it say the Bills are still interested so change your title of the thread. All it says is the bills "showed" and "sniffed" at trading for Gaither in the past -
Greg Gabriel fired by Bears
Beastly Dareus replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where does everyone get the idea that Tom Modrak is getting fired or leaving anytime soon? Give up on it already. Hes never been in charge of our draft's.. it was always Donahoe, Levy, Brandon, Jauron And to respond to the topic.. I would love to see Doug Gabriel in our scouting department. I think Nix, Whaley, Modrak and Gabriel would be a nice scouting team -

Veteran Free Agents to Consider
Beastly Dareus replied to Beastly Dareus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ouch, that makes me a little depressed. I have been wanting him since Oakland released him -
Buddy Nix after the draft during the press conference said we will be looking at Veteran Free Agents to fill holes or add depth. I think if we signed the following three we will surprise alot of people next year. Garard Warren- NT- 31 years old. 6'4"- 326 pounds. I have been wanting him since he became available when Oakland released him. With the 2nd round selection of Torell Troup and then Kyle Williams. These three could provide a great rotation. Plus I think Kyle Williams will be used at all three DL positions. Knowing that I still think we need 1 more NT. He would solidify our DL and even our defense. He has the experience and he is proven. He brings 127 starts with him in his 10 year career. He can be had for a decent amount of money. I say we sign him to a 2 year deal, while we find another NT. Chester Pitts- OT/OG- 30 years old. 6'4"- 310 pounds. Pitts is coming off a year in which he was injured but this guy has experience and he is a proven offensive linemen who can play guard or tackle. He has started every single game that he has appeared in since his rookie season without missing any games up till last season. He is a 9 year pro that brings alot of versatility. He could start at LT/RT/ or RG until Eric Wood is FULLY recovered and ready to go. And when Eric Wood comes back he could either play C or RG, depending on which position is performing worse. We can also use Chester Pitts to play LT and give time to Ed Wang, Kyle Colloway, Demetrius Bell, and Jamon Meredith time to learn blocking schemes and the offense and develop in practice. I would think one of the four would be cut or put on practice squad. Then we would have Cornell Green at RT. but if he performs bad then we have a few options. Alan Faneca- OG- 33 years old. 6'5"- 305 pounds. He might be old but a 1 year contract would be perfect for the Bills not only because of his experience, leadership, and proven ability BUT because with him the Bills would not have to rush Eric Wood back at all. We can give Eric Wood a few extra weeks in practice when he is ready just to make sure. Once Wood comes back he can either play C or RG.. Depends on which ever Faneca or Hartgartner is playing worse. In Faneca's 13 year career he has only missed a grand total of 2 games. He has started in 185 games. Thats alot of needed experience and leadership on a offensive line that lacks in that category. Other Free Agents: Flozell Adams-OT (If he has juice left) and Shawn Andrews-OG/OT (If he stayed healthy), and Cornelius Griffin-DT (If he still has something left) If we can sign Faneca and Pitts our offensive line would be solid with pretty decent depth. Imagine: Pitts- Levitre- Hartgartner- Faneca- Green/Wang to most likely start the year. Then eventually possibly: Pitts- Levitre- Wood- Faneca- Green/Wang. Sounds about 15x better than what we had last year. Not to mention QB play would most likely improve by about 900-1,200 passing yards on the year then it would open nice holes for CJ Spiller to blaze through on his was to a 1,200-1,600 yard season. If we where limited to ONLY three more signings in Free Agency, these three guys would be the guys I brought in. Big Bodies to solidify both lines for next year while the young guys learn in rotational roles and in practices. I think we could get them all for a pretty good reasonable price Thats my own option, if you would like to comment or share your opinion please feel free. Or if there are any other Free Agents that you think would help please share. GO BILLS!

Well you didnt check hard enough... this link from above: http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/p/2010-nfl-...ree-agents.html

I would like to see us bring in: DE/OLB- Brandon Lang- Troy OT- Tony Washington- Abilene Christian OG- Ciron Black- LSU DE/OLB- Lindsey Witten- UConn
-
La Canfora just said we might look at Flozell Adams
Beastly Dareus replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope we bring in guys like Garrard Warren- NT, Chester Pitts- OT/OG... and possibly Flozell Adams- OT (but hes old and beat up) through Free Agency -
I would like him.. hes underrated thats for sure
-
Ricky Sapp- OLB-N Clemson (Love this kid, hes a big playmaker who should have been a late 2nd rounder) Aaron Hernandez- good talent at TE Cam Thomas- good NT would solidify our D-Line for a long time with Carrington and Troup and Williams But I think our top targets should be like this: Bruce Campbell- OT Selvish Capers- OT Ricky Sapp- OLB Cam Thoma- NT Eric Norwood- OLB For those of you that want a QB, There in NO point in getting a QB when he will be a project QB. We already have 2 project QB's on our roster with Edwards and Brohm. Those of you that dont think Edwards is a project well he is with the new coach and offense, he was coached up by a terrible staff and he showed promise before. If we are going to add a 4th QB, it should be a veteran through Free Agency. I dont see why we would draft a project QB when the draft still has good talent at OL/DL/OLB/TE and theres some talent at WR and not to mention CB (but we dont need any more DB's thats for sure)

Since when is Patrick Moran credit-worthy? He has no inside knowledge, like he claims to have. He is wrong most of the time with his predictions, and his articles are always pointing out the obvious or he reports something someone says on ESPN or other football sites. Buffalosportsdaily is all around the worst place connected to Buffalo Media to get Bills news... The twobillsdrive forums are more reliable by leaps and bounds.

McNabb wants washington to sign T.O.

Dont forget about Chris Cooley and Devin Thomas..... -
Except for Clausen is leap and bounds the most NFL ready QB in this draft class and has been mentored by some pretty good Offensive coaches. He has been playing in a NFL offense for 3 years already. This Jimmy Clausen Hate is getting really old. I bet you and most of the people that bash or discredit Clausen have never seen him play. I for one dont have cable unless I'm at school. On the weekends I'm at home and we dont have cable.. So Im stuck watching all the games on regular T.V and NBC airs every Notre Dame game.. so I have seen alot of Jimmy Clausen over the past 3 years. He played with a pretty painful foot injury all year last year while having average- below average talent around him and he put up awesome numbers. Hes tough, has good arm strength, accurate, good poise, good mechanics, good quick delivery, good throw on the run, hes mobile..... AND the only negatives or question marks people have about him is that he is cocky, has smaller hands than most QB's, sometimes floats the ball, and sometimes is too quick to check down under pressure and he's short... BUT Gruden, Jaws, and many others say that the cocky, immature attitude that people complain about is about when he was coming out of high school. Also Jimmy Clausen is 6'2 1/2" which is not that short like people act like it is. And the argument that he sometimes floats the ball... thats because at Notre Dame he had a good connection with a few receivers and timed it well and just threw up the ball for him to go get when he didn't have the safety playing back.

Mike Williams version 2? Are you serious? Also, where have you and Don Banks been? This has been a story for over a week. How about skimming through the threads and reading the other Bulaga thread(s). Just because a player is overrated doesn't mean he is Mike Williams version 2. Anthony Davis - OT- Rutgers would be considered the Mike Williams version 2. Davis like Williams has a terrible work ethic, is lazy and doesn't seem to interested in football other than getting paid. Until Davis starts acting like he wants to be a football player, I would never take him in the first round. He has all the talent in the world and can be a Pro Bowler but he takes plays off and doesn't work hard. Sounds just like Mike Williams. Bryan Bulaga on the other hand, who I agree Is a little overrated but never less an above average RT has a good work ethic, he enjoys football and he is far from lazy. Bryan Bulaga is no where near a Mike Williams type. And finally, THIS IS A NEW FRONT OFFICE AND COACHING STAFF... stop relating things back to the old coaching staff and front office.

Bills interested in Tebow? ESPN Insider

Davis has Mike Williams written all over him. TONS of talent but terrible work ethic and hes lazy -
Bulaga - the more I read...
Beastly Dareus replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then you watch this: And Bulaga looks just average and should not be a top 15/20 pick. -

Beastly Dareus replied to Agua's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks, I didn't see that before. Like i said in my above post, I dont think Tebow should be taken in the top 25 at all... And I hope to god we don't take him at #9. If we are going to take him, do it in the second or if they really really want him trade back into the first ahead of Minnesota. But if Clausen is there at #9, I hope we dont pass on him for Spiller or a risk pick like Davis (OT- Rutgers) or for a player like Bryan Bulaga who alot of people claim to be overrated and possibly only a RT in the NFL. -
Walter Football: Bradford vs. Clausen Comparison
Beastly Dareus replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then obviously he has never spoken to Kiper, Jaws, Gruden, Mayock and Scott Wright and many other draft "gurus" who all are very very high on Clausen who think and have said repeatedly that Clausen is a top 10 pick. Hell even Todd McShay who has stated many times he's not a big fan of Clausen, has Clausen as a top 15 player and pick. Lande is one of those people that has a very very small group of people people he gets information from and talks to but he passes everything on like he talks to everyone. Russ Lande is always off on his evaluations. Hes the same guy that claimed John McCargo and Keith Ellison where going to be solid starters and surprise alot of people. Hes the same person that Rated JP Losman better than Phillip Rivers and Big Ben. He's the same guy that said Brady Quinn is going to be an all pro. Hes the same guy that said Darrell Revis was a late first round talent or early second round talent. He also said Micheal Oher was at best a early second round talent. This year Russ Lande thinks Patrick Robinson (CB) is a top 10/15 pick and better than the likes of Joe Haden and Jerome Murphy Russ Lande is also the guy that gets 2-4 of his first round mock draft predictions right each year. Point is Russ Lande claims alot but hes wrong way more often than he is right. Hell Todd McShay is more creditable than Russ Lande. Anyone that sources Lande really needs to find new sources of information. I have read his evaluations and mock drafts in the Bills Digest 2 or 3 times and he tends to say the opposite about many players than most people say about them -

If Clausen is on the board at pick 9, I hope its him... I hope Spiller is off the board at pick 9. I also hope some team takes a gamble on OT Davis from Rutgers and Bryan Bulaga before our pick as well. I have been hearing alot more negatives on Bulaga lately than positives. Seems like most are saying he's only a RT in the NFL and not worth a top 10 pick. Davis has too many character and inconsistent motor question marks.. he almost sounds like version 2 of Mike Williams... LOTS of potential of being a Pro Bowler for many years but seems to lack interest and is lazy. I like Spiller, he's going to be a great player and Pro Bowl RB BUT i don't believe in taking a RB in the top 15 in the draft when its arguably the easiest position to fill. There are so many options of where the Bills pick this year, that we have NO CLUE what so ever who the pick will be. BUT I would not draft Tim Tebow #9 overall ESPECIALLY if Jimmy Clausen is still on the Board. If we want Tim Tebow really bad then we should try to move back into the first round ahead of the Minnesota Vikings pick. Tebow should not be drafted in the top 25 and I hope to god that we arent the team to pull the trigger on him early. BUT I really would be shocked if we passed on Jimmy Clausen if he fell to #9. He is the most NFL ready QB of this draft. I would be especially mad if we selected Spiller over Clausen. I think there are 4 players the would be on the board and worth the Bills pick at #9... Jimmy Clausen (QB), Derrick Morgan (OLB- in the 3-4), Dan Williams (NT) or Trent Williams (OT); and the only reaches I would probably accept would be Sergio Kindle (OLB) or Mike Iupati (OG/OT). But this is going to be a very interesting draft... way to many different ways this can go. Im kinda excited -
The only thing that makes me worried about Clausen is that I have heard that he has small hands which can hurt him in cold, windy and snowy games. But other than that I like Clausen. I think theres more positives than weaknesses. The only negatives ive heard is his cocky attitude and his hand size. Im still 50/50 on a OT or Clausen at pick #9. Then at pick #41 if we decide to take OT @ #9 then I would be 50/50 on a NT (Terrence Cody) or Tebow at pick #41
