Why Ndamukong Suh won't go #1 overall
Beastly Dareus replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thoughts..... but Ndamukong Suh is the best player in this draft. There aren't any QB's that are worthy #1 pick this year. There also aren't any WR's worthy #1 pick. And there aren't any OL worthy #1 pick. And that's the St. Louis Rams biggest needs. So in the end that leaves Ndamukong Suh as the way they would go because they need a big DT as well Unless they decide to trade down or find a partner to trade with. Or they decide to just draft Clausen or Bradford #1 which is a reach (in my opinion neither of them should be top 5 picks) This years draft will be interesting... -
lol, I could always bring my own beer. I'm old enough to buy it
-
So your saying Snead will go in the 1st round? Correct? And if your wrong, I get to crash your tailgating party
-
Lol, he was good in college.. it didnt translate into the NFL because of the system and because of the coaches. No one can deny Losman was good in college. He was on a bad team and he still put up decent to above average numbers with a lack of talented receivers around him. I don't care if I lost credibility with you, especially since ive proved you wrong and out argued you by miles. What does that say about your credibility? EDIT: Not to mention all but 2 people (You being 1) have agreed with my opinion of Snead in this thread

If we need an "established" QB.....
Beastly Dareus replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm i like that idea -
Actually Losman coming out of college was highly ranked because: He had good mobility, good arm strength, good footwork and average to above average throwing mechanics. The only questions Losman had was his leadership and his accuracy. Losman failed in Buffalo because of a bad system he didn't fit and because of bad coaching
-
No"draft guru" that I seen had Snead put as the #1 QB prospect coming into the season. Alot of them had him ranked in the top 5. But most Had McCoy, Bradford and Locker and even Tebow ranked above Snead. I'm on draft websites alot. Ive never seen Snead in the #1 spot

I personally don't like any of those names -
Ok I think I would know a little something since I have 2 cousins who are scouts. And neither of them think highly of Snead. And plus I'm studying sports management in school right now (Sports Management major) and my goal is to be a head scout. The funny thing is that you haven't even put forth a strong enough argument as to why Snead will become a 1st round pick. You say "At the combine the controlled conditions will benefit him and his draft status will rise" -- Not true, the controlled conditions at the combine aren't going to drastically change his poor accuracy, it wont help his throwing mechanics, and it wont help his poise. All those 3 things right there are round 1 must haves for a QB. No QB that is poor in all 3 of those skill sets will be a 1st round QB. No way a team will take a 1st round flyer on a guy that his only positives are: a Strong Arm, Mobility, and above average leader. His weaknesses greatly outweigh his strengths.
-
No team will take him in the first round. His stock at the combine wont go up because they will see the guy one on one working with other receivers.... The first thing scouts will notice is his terrible accuracy and his terrible throwing mechanics. And then if they give him drills with presser baring in on him they will notice his lack of poise. Right now his a 3rd rounder at best, watch his draft stock to a 5th round grade.
-
Right on... Not to mention his skills are terrible. Terrible accuracy, terrible throwing mechanics and footwork (which is hard to coach). His arm strength is great BUT he can connect on the long ball because he throws it over the receivers head or 5-10 years away from the receiver. And his poise is god awful. The second a defender breaks into the backfield he starts running around like a chicken with his head cut off instead of taking an extra second to throw to a check down receiver. The guy had 4 good receivers in McCluster, Bolden, Summers and Shay Hodge. Yet just look at his production. He had an average O-line protecting him as well. The team that takes Snead in the top 3 rounds will waste their pick on this guy. The 2 guys that say Snead will be the first QB taken and a top 10-15 pick, have no clue about football talent.
-
What games do you people watch? Snead cant make every throw... his accuracy and throwing mechanics are TERRIBLE He has had 4-5 games his whole college career where he had a "good/great" game. And all his good game came against poor competition. He has struggled greatly against top level talent.

Thats the way I see it as well. They have only had meetings with: Cowher, Frazier and Fewell. One could argue that they may have talked to Marty Schottenheimer as well (considering him and Buddy are close friends) And they contacted Jim Harbough and they had a "level of interest" talk (aka stealth talk)

Bills close to making a decision?

No I think the media (mainly ESPN) has just started rumors of what they want to hear. They have been just speculating the entire time. Especially people like Schefter and Clayton who insist that Cowher will not be the coach of the Bills. I think it frustrates ESPN that they can't get information from the Bills (Especially frustrating from Clayton and Schefter) that they just threw out a wild guess of "Cowher will not coach the Bills, the rumors aren't true. Cowher isnt talking with the Bills this week, hes at his home in NC walking his dog" according to our sources close to Cowher. But the funny thing is that no ESPN report has named their source regarding the Cowher to coach the Bills talk. And they usually do name their source. -
Cowhers Pittsburgh colleagues say: "there's some merit to the rumors of Cowher becoming the next head coach of the Buffalo Bills." -So with that said. Thats now 3 sources apparently close to Cowher and the Bills that have basically said there's a good change. With Joe Logan reporting he has sources close to the Bills, Marty Schottenheimer who is good friends with Cowher, and now Cowher's Pittsburgh colleagues. -Adam Schefter however started a widespread rumor on Tuesday that "Cowher no going to Coach in 2010, Schefter's sources say he isn't involved in contract talks with the Bills, instead he is in NC walking his dog" Seems like Schefter doesn't really have a clue what hes talking about the past 6 months regarding the Bills. Or are Cowhers close friends clueless? I would think that Cowhers friend Schottenheimer and his former Pittsburgh colleagues have more insight than Adam Schefter (who has lost alot of credibility since joining ESPN, he was once great with NFLN)

hmmm is there reasoning behind why they do it? I mean do they think minorities get treated that unfairly in coaching interviews? -

Bills close to making a decision?
Beastly Dareus replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares who his family is. His family success doesn't guarantee him success. He has NEVER coached any part of the NFL game. How do you instantly expect him to be a NFL Head Coach when he has never coached a NFL playbook nor coached in the NFL speed. The NFL is much different than when he played. The college game is much different from the NFL game. Im struggling to find 1 College coach that had never been at least a coordinator in the NFL; that went from college to a NFL HC job in the past 10 years and had success -

O the guy who has never coached from a NFL style playbook and has never been at least an assistant in the NFL? The NFL game is different from college.... The same guy that is 17-20 at Stanford? Stanford plays what top competition in NCAA? He had success at San Diego but what competitive, top level competition do they play? How many college HC that took HC jobs in the NFL right away in the past 10 years have been good? I can see him as a coordinator here but not a HC -
