Should they really be crushing the Jesus juice every night? ?????? -
Love the talent, but is he healthy? Dude has had lingering groin issues the past couple seasons.

Who wouldn’t?

Okay, fine. Comparing App St to D-2 Lenoir-Rhyne was a mistake on my part. App State is a big school. It’s one of the biggest and best football schools ever, and if it were any bigger or better it would be so big they’d probably have to play in the NFL. Sorry. ? Good point. While it would be nice to find a short yardage back in the latter rounds or as an UDFA, another option could be Carlos Hyde on a 2 year ~6 million dollar deal after the draft ??♂️

This is kind of where I’m at except I’m hoping for DE & CB in rounds 2 and 3. If Evans is there at our pick in round 4 that would be amazing, but that’s looking more and more unlikely. Perhaps Beane has something in mind to move back up into the 3rd for Evans if it works out. Still very interesting that they’re spending so much time on him pre-draft.

Okay, fair enough, but I think we can all agree that compared to the P5 conference “powers” App State would be considered a small program. How about comparing the schools of the other top RBs....Georgia, Ohio State, LSU? I think we’re splitting hairs here. My point was that some people may be critical of the level of competition he faced relative to the other top RBs.

For a while I’ve been thinking that #54 will be the sweet spot to draft a RB, and I still think there will be at least 1 or 2 of the top 4 available when we pick, but I am beginning to think that Beane has other intentions with our first pick. Evans is a prospect that has really grown on me after doing some research. Although there remains the small school competition trepidation, similar to Kyle Dugger, he just jumps out at you when you watch him play. Although not the ideal compliment to Singletary, I think he would be an excellent weapon to have in this offense. Most of the “draft experts” I’ve seen have him going in the 4th round, but a few recent reports I’ve seen have him possibly going in the 3rd. It certainly seems like Beane is really interested in him. What are your thoughts about Evans in the 3rd/4th? Perhaps DE/DB is the target with our 2nd rounder?

Tre White - Best in the League?
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Houston's #1 Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s among the best in the league, and yes, he deserves to be paid like the best. Not only is he an elite DB, but has outstanding character. Beane will certainly pay him, IMO. -
Tony Robbins or Nick Saban? ?

Spotrak has his projected market value at around 3 million/year. I’d take him on a 2 year deal. -

I would love to add Carlos Hyde to the RB room. I think he would be a great compliment to Singletary, and I’d like to see Motor average at least 20-25 touches per game. That said, if Swift, Taylor or Dobbins are there at 54 I think Beane would have to strongly consider them. Regardless, I think they’ll draft a RB somewhere...doesn’t need to be with our 2nd rounder. -

Prospect discussion: Antonio Gibson
Johnny Hammersticks replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, the same argument could be made against drafting Chase Claypool at 54. Yes, he was a WR at Notre Dame and put up good numbers (at least his senior season), but he has a lot of work to do to become a polished NFL WR, IMO. Is he a physical freak? Yes. But he is not a good route runner yet, tends to struggle against press coverage (despite his physicality), and doesn’t do much after the catch. Sounds more like a TE to me. Very similar to a Darren Waller. That said, I think we are finally in a position with the state of our roster to draft players like Gibson and Claypool. With the exception of RB, IMO, we have pretty good depth at all positions. We can afford to develop these players as long as they can play well on special teams. I trust Beane has the good judgment to take calculated risks with these types of guys. -
Kinda looks like Fred Armisen ??♂️
