  1. My wife and I went to South Beach for a vacation in 2018. We were in Little Havana walking around, and this guy came walking down the street carrying about 6 or 7 of those bungee cords with the metal S hooks on the ends. As he approached the intersection where we were standing amongst a large group of people he started swinging them around in the air. I quickly grabbed my wife’s hand and pulled her the opposite way down the street. When he got to the group of people he just started whipping random people with the cords. People were screaming and a few guys tried to subdue him. We took off. Was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever witnessed.
  2. SF is the most beautiful, yet one of the most disgusting cities I’ve ever visited. About 7 years ago, my wife and I went there for a week for a work conference. One of the nights we walked to a restaurant for dinner. It was about 6-7 blocks from our hotel right in downtown. On the way back to the hotel we got confronted by a vagrant drug addict with a box cutter demanding money. We ran away and found a Target store and tried to hide inside. All the while the addict stood outside, face pressed against the glass window, literally drooling all over the window and screaming at us. We alerted some employees who said they were going to call the police. To our knowledge, no police ever even responded. We had to wait in there for about 45 minutes until we left the rear exit of the store and caught an Uber back to the hotel. All politics aside, I’ve been to most major cities in the US. SF was the one in which I felt most unsafe. Miami is a close 2nd, BTW. Just gross. 🤢
  3. I read today that the drunk driver is/was employed as CFO of a substance abuse rehab facility. Wow. This is just such a horrible tragedy. 😢
  4. Yup. I believe we got the early bird special for like $275 for purchasing prior to 8/1, but we have a subscription to YouTubeTV (which we like much better than DTV).
  5. I think Gore would be a great PS addition.
  6. This response to what was clearly a joke is a little over the top. Also, who responds to an “opening day menu” thread like you did? Why even respond if you don’t have the means to make a dang plate of nachos or something? Jeez…lighten up dude! 🙄
  7. Judon is an a-hole.
  8. Pretty cool stuff.
  9. Definitely fall where I live now. Best weather of the year and the start of NFL football. Kids going back to school is always fun. Friday night HS football games are always a good time, and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love waking up on Sunday mornings and having a coffee with my wife on the back deck before the kids wake up.
  10. I was just commenting last night to my wife about how that pole vaulter with the giant hog could make a living on OF. 😂
  11. FanDuel is the only one I’ve used. No problems.
  12. Somewhat related in terms of exploration/discoveries, but I was watching an interview with Neil deGrasse Tyson yesterday and a man asked him the question (paraphrasing) “If there is life on another planet in the universe and we’ve been looking, why haven’t we found any evidence? You would think if there was we would have found some type of evidence by now.” His response was “That would be like taking a water glass to the beach, filling it up with ocean water, and then coming to the conclusion that there are no whales in the ocean.”
  13. congrats! What were you playing? I once won 5K in one hand of Caribbean Stud in Punta Cana. Paid for almost my entire trip. I suspect you were at the hold ‘em tables though….
  14. Gallagher Jim Carrey Chris Farley
  15. Just binged the ten episode mini-series, Maniac, on Netflix. Jonah Hill, Emma Stone and Sally Field. It’s a sci-fi series…sort of a blend of Dark Mirror and Squid Games. Jonah Hill was surprisingly good playing multiple different characters. Emma Stone was awesome. Very interesting plot. It was very good, IMO.
  16. JFC man! My heart would implode. I’ll look into Lucy’s though. Although I think delivery of nicotine pouches to VT is currently not allowed, as I have tried to order from other websites (at half the cost of buying tins from the gas station).
  17. Interesting. I might give those a shot.
  18. Just watched the movie The Adam Project with my wife and kids the other night. Ryan Reynolds was pretty good in it as usual, and it was a pretty enjoyable movie. As a family, we struggle to find movies that work for both my 14 year old son and my 10 year old daughter. All of us enjoyed this one. I recommend.
  19. To me it’s like having a strong cup of coffee. I’ve never been a regular smoker, but there are times in my life where I would keep a pack of Marlboros in the cabinet and it would last me 6 months. I haven’t had a cigarette in almost 5 years. I definitely used to enjoy chewing tobacco (Skoal), but haven’t done that in over 20 years. This seems to be a fairly safe alternative to both, but I still don’t think it’s good for my body.
  20. I used to crush some Skoal back in my late high school - college days. Yes. Top semi pro box in Canada. Juniors is 17-21. Some of our players (more from our senior team) have been drafted into the NLL. What’s your favorite ZYN flavor?
  21. Really? I’ve read that it restricts the blood vessels. Causes elevated blood pressure. What’s your top 3? Mine are Spearmint, Wintergreen and Citrus. 😂
  22. I know…I know…I’m an idiot. Nicotine is really, really bad for you. I coached a junior A indoor lacrosse team up in Ottawa for a few weeks this summer. One of the other coaches was popping those ZYN pouches. I tried one finally, freaking loved it, and just started buying them after that. I’ve been going on a month, and I still only do 3-4 3mg pouches per day. I’ve heard of other people who constantly need to have 2 6mg pouches in their mouth all day long. I’m thinking I’ll probably quit soon. Anyone else get down with some ZYNies? If so, anyone quit and experience the withdrawal? I’ve read that it’s pretty crappy.
  23. Don’t you want to hear about the nature/severity of Bishop’s injury before you think about moving possibly our best boundary corner to safety? Edwards is week to week. Yeesh!
  24. No question, but hasn’t Browning been the holder for Bass during OTAs/TC?
  25. I wasn’t overly concerned initially. Even after seeing a few false reports (trolls) about the nature/severity of Cole’s injury on social media. The report was that his arm was heavily wrapped (I assumed ice), and that he left the field but remained at practice. These were some promising “clues” to me. Given that nothing has been made public, I’m growing a bit more worried. Especially with the day off today.
