I grew up with Jeremy. Lived a few blocks away, and graduated in the same HS class. We weren’t super close, but we did play hoops together all the time. Just a genuine, good-natured dude. I’m so happy to hear about this positive news. Hope everything continues to work out for them.

One really good restaurant here closed, but they started a food truck that serves mainly awesome fried chicken. From what I hear they are making money hand over fist up at the ski resorts.

There was one place left in town with decent wings. One place. Closed permanently due to COVID. Now I have to either drive 30 minutes or resort to (gulp) Tops wings 😒😞

Saw some people ice fishing yesterday, but it was on a small, shallow lake. I wouldn’t do it, but I guess it’s safer than on a river with moving water. That’s crazy. Hopefully no kids out there.

I also jumped ship around the same time in the series for similar reasons. It was like Dark Mirror’s ugly sister. Not very well done.

Finished Queens Gambit last night. As others have said, very enjoyable show. IMO, there was a “lull” during a couple episodes toward the end, but the beginning and ending of the series was quite interesting. I had this suspicion down the stretch that something bad was going to happen to her in Russia at the end. I won’t share whether I was right or wrong because I don’t want to spoil for others.

Look...I’m all in favor of resting the starters in week 17 if there is nothing at stake. That would be obvious to anyone. You still didn’t answer my question though. You’re the one that brought up Belichick. Name a season where he rested starters with seeding/home playoff game(s) on the line. I’ll keep waiting...

Then why wouldn’t Beane just call it a day and sit the starters tonight as well? We already have the division wrapped up and a home playoff game secured anyway. The #2 seed is very important, and the starters should play as long as there is something at stake. If there was absolutely nothing to gain, fine. Rest all the starters. Buffalo has worked to hard to lay down now and just settle for the 3 or 4 seed. What message would folding now send to the players? This take is hot garbage, IMO.

I agree with you. Securing the #2 seed is far from meaningless. Ensures two home playoff games if we win the first one. Chance to knock a division foe out of the playoffs. Less stressful, but these games are very, very important, IMO.

If my memory serves me, weren’t we missing Tre, Milano, and Hyde the last time we played NE? Wasn’t Tre Edmunds playing essentially with one arm? Our #1 CB for that game was Josh Norman. This is a completely different team that NE is going to face tonight. I expect Allen to have a huge game.

He has a few different ones, but his main one seems to be “white 80, ready-set.” You can also hear him go through a progression of “white 80,” “green 20,” “brown 80!” There’s another one he uses, seemingly when he is under center, that I can’t decipher. Here’s a good video of his snap cadences.
