I'm 6'4'' 251 and I bench 325. How much $ do you want to put down?
I'd be willing to wager that Aaron Maybin could easily take you in a fight. Remember, he has the fastest first step this side of Niagara Falls. He'd probably punch you in the throat before you even got your hands in the air
PS. fighting on the internet is like competing in the special olympics....even if you win you're still retarded.

Maybe I'm a poor poker player, but here is something I don't get: wouldn't the reason to bluff about our interest in Gabbert be to induce the Cardinals (or someone else) to trade up IN FRONT of our pick? If the Cardinals think we're serious on Gabbert, why would they think we'd deal them our pick so they could take him??
Perhaps, they might be thinking that they could give us an offer that we couldn't refuse...even if we really were interested in Gabbert.
-
Interesting that he thinks there will be a record number of QBs taken in the first round. IIRC the six QBs taken in round 1 of the '83 draft is the record? What six QBs strike him as first round talents this year I wonder. Once I get past Newton, Gabbert, and possibly Mallet, I'm stuck. Are Locker, Kaepernick, and Ponder moving that far up? I just don't see them.
GO BILLS!!!
I have heard prognostications where Ponder, Kaepernick, and even Dalton could be targeted in the late first round.
-
I am 90 percent sure that Maybin doesn't make it out of camp......I would rather use his spot on a player cut from another team that is a superb special teams gunner or a backup swing tackle
Yeah...like John Wendling???? I still can't believe they cut him. He was shaping up to be a special teams monster.

There have been work stoppages in football, don't fool yourself. It is the rich against the richer and neither side really cares about us, imo.
Worst thing that could happen (and it's shaping up this way) is that the two sides do not gain any ground during the present "mandated mediation" sessions. The judge then decides in favor of one side or the other. The losing side then appeals the judge's decision, and the 2011 NFL season is spent mired in the judicial system. This is a very real possibility, and I think a lot of people (including myself) are in a state of denial right now.

1. Von Miller OLB 2.Ben Ijalana OT 3. Bruce Carter OLB 4.Kendric Burney CB 4. Kj Wright ILB 5.Ricky Stanzi QB 6. Rob Housler TE 7. Deandre Brown WR 7. Alex Green RB
Like it
Kendric Burney is a smurf, but he showed well at the senior bowl against taller, more physical wide receivers. Love Stanzi in round 5. I like the Ijalana pick, but I would almost rather take the best 3-4 DE (i.e., Heyward) with that pick and then address OT in round 3 or 4.

How does he weigh less than 2009? Has he been using the Body Blade?
I heard it was the P90X program, supplemented with a few sets per day of the Shake Weight.

Here goes...
1. Von Miller OLB
2. Cameron Heyward DE
3. Ras-I Dowling CB
Championship!!!!!

I don't think you'll have much to worry about...I'm in Charlotte, and at this point I think it's going to be a shock to this City if they don't take Newton #1 Overall...It seems to be a forgone conclusion...
That seems to be the overwhelming opinion at this point. That raises an important question, however, as the Panthers drafted Jimmy "the ostrich" Clausen with their first pick last year. Would Cam be the starting QB for week one, or would he ride the pine until the Panthers lose a few games? Was Clausen's performance last season a good indication of his ability to be a successful QB in the NFL?
-
What!? I thought you were leading the Quinn Bandwagon, I still would take him at 3 just after Gabbert and Dareus.
I am a very fickle person...particularly in the weeks leading up to the draft
I still think Quinn is an excellent prospect, and would love to see him in a Bills uniform, but given the options I don't think he's the best choice at #3. With the lone exception of AJ Green, I am hoping on the best defensive lineman available at #3.

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find it in a search.
Rumors are gaining steam that Washington is looking to move into the top couple of spots to grab a franchise QB. For the Bills, this presents an interesting trade scenario. (http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/39321/could-elway-shanahan-be-trade-partners)
On the positive side, a trade like this would likely land the Bills Washington's 1st and 2nd Round pick (#10 and #41), AND, because Washington doesn't have a 3rd or 4th rounder, NEXT YEAR'S 1st round pick. So the Bills could grab an additional pick in the top 41 this year WITHOUT moving out of the top-10, and gain an additional 1st Rounder next year (when, if the projections deliver on their promise, the QB class will be significantly better).
On the negative end, if the draft goes as many are anticipating, the majority of blue-chip defensive prospects could be gone by the 10th pick. NFL Draft Countdown, a solid mock by any standard, has Dareus, Peterson, Miller, Bowers, Amukamara, Fairley, and Watt, all taken in the first nine selections.
So what do y'all think? Would it be worth foregoing players like Newton and Gabbert, Miller and Peterson, Fairley and, possibly, Watt (and drafting in their place a player like Cam Jordan, Aldon Smith, Tyrone Smith, Robert Quinn, or even A.J. Green-- who could slide), for the additional second rounder this year, and a first round pick in 2012? I'm curious to hear your opinions.
Yes, it would be well worth it, but I doubt we would get their 1st next year. The draft pick value chart is a useful tool, but there is always room to negotiate between teams.
I'd take 10, 41, and then next year's 2nd and 4th.
Take the best 3-4 DE at #10 (Jordan, Watt) unless someone ridiculous like Green slides.
Then take the best linebacker available at #34 (Reed, Wilson)
Then take the best ROT with #41 (Cannon, Carpenter)

If this scenario plays out, there are several other players I would select rather than Gabbert.
A.J. Green - BPA situation IMO...Sure fire starting, and potential pro-bowl wide receiver. Has been revered by scouts as the best WR prospect to come out since Calvin Johnson. Sometimes you just can't pass up on a player of this caliber, regardless of your team needs.
Nick Fairley - Nasty disposition, best snap anticipation and quickest first step (IMO) since Warren Sapp. Criticisms regarding lack of upper body strength, and questions as to whether he could play 3-4 DE. I say, good coaching and a year of an NFL conditioning program and this guy is going to be a menace at any position on the d-line. I also see similarities to B.J. Raji.
Cameron Jordan - I know, many people feel that Cam Jordan at #3 is a reach, and therefore we should only consider him in trade-down scenario. I don't buy that. Cam is quite possibly the best, pure 3-4 DE in this draft. Granted, he's not gonna be getting tons of sacks, but he is a beast against the run and moves well through traffic; adept at making plays down the line. I wouldn't consider him the be a reach at #3.
Not a fan of Miller, Peterson, any OT (really..are you kidding me), or Robert Quinn at #3.

Of course you've never seen anything tremendous from him on the football field. You've never even heard of him until the combine. So how can you have seen someone you didn't know even existed until then?
I suspect your reading comprehension is lacking. As I stated in my post, I did watch a few Illinois games this year and did not really see anything impressive from him. You would think, if he was such a great football player, that I at least would have heard his name called a couple of times during those games.
-
Brooks Reed Baby!!!! Even though the FO has stated that they are satisfied with our OLB's, this guy is too good (IMO) to pass up. He has perennial pro-bowler written all over him.
-
Does anyone have any video or information on Martez Wilson? I would love the idea of getting this guy in the second round. His measureables are almost identical to Von Miller. In almost every combine event this guy was neck and neck with Miller. He is about 1" taller and than Von and at 250 is heavier. Looks like the guy can play special teams too and help out in kick game coverage as well as potentially challenge for a starting spot on defense.
I don't know if this guy will drop to the second round as I have heard that the patriots as well as other teams have expressed interest.
Martez Wilson is an intriguing prospect given his out-of-this-world combination of size and athletic ability. The criticism of Wilson, as I have heard, is that he just does not have commensurate football instincts and skills. I watched a few Illinois games this season, and I barely even knew who he was until the scouting combine. It seems that if he were such an elite talent, he would have made more of a name for himself...especially playing in the Big-10. I'm not saying that he isn't going to be good. I'm just saying that I haven't seen anything tremendous from him on the football field.

Based on playground rules, I choose Dareus and Carimi (although he won't be there in the second). Fairley was tempting because of the "nastiness" element that he brings to the equation. I like Dareus' versatility to much, however, as I think he will prove to be the better pro in the long run and is a better fit for this defense. Given the choices in the 2nd round, Carimi was a no-brainer.

Although I don't recall the word "wigger" ever being mentioned, there were similar criticisms about Big Ben coming out of college. He presented in interviews (according to some) as being kinda "gangsta-ish" acting....if you will. For what it's worth, I haven't seen this from Mallett. He certainly isn't as charming and charismatic at a guy like Cam Newton (sarcasm), but I feel that he has been reasonably well-spoken, classy, and respectful to the pushy media jerks.
Mark my words....a lot of teams will regret passing on Ryan Mallett. I just hope, if he does make it to #34, that we don't make the mistake of passing on him.

I think you wasted a lot of time and energy creating this thread. You are illustrating a point that should be obvious to anyone who is not a complete retard. Obviously the NFL draft pick value chart is just a tool used by teams to ESTIMATE the equity of a given trade involving a draft pick. The figures are not absolute, and of course the Packers are not going to trade all their draft picks for the next two years for the #3 this year. Your whole example is completely ridiculous.
God, I can't wait for the
draft!!

My problem with Ponder, besides the fact that the guy does throw an ugly, wobbly ball, is his inconsistency. He looks pretty good in some games (Wake Forest, UNC, Florida, Senior bowl) and then he looks terrible in others (Oklahoma, Boston College, NC State). I'm not sure how much the injuries played into his inconsistency, but he seemed to be all over the map this season. Another thing I noticed about Ponder, JMO, is that he panics when he is under pressure (see NC State game). He took a couple hits early on, and was worthless for the rest of the game. Looked like he was playing scared.

If you look at the current front office and how they operate some things need to fit so they will draft a player. Last year every player selected was a senior. Players they select this year must have either played at the Senior bowl or have visited One Bills Drive in the last month. Then finally fit a need. If you look at the players brought to OBD they were mostly front seven defensive players or QB's. So here's my guess at the first four rounds. Carolina takes Cam Newton QB and Denver takes Marcell Dareus DE.
1st Round. Cam Jordan DE, Californa. He fits a need, played at the Senior Bowl, visited OBD, can play both 3-4 and 4-3 and has a good blood line. Buddy Nix said earlier this year that he is happy with OLB's so my guess is that Von Miller is out.
2nd Round. Christian Ponder QB, FSU. He fits a need, MVP of the Senior Bowl, recruited by Galley in high school, visited OBD, played in the Pistol Offense which Galley likes, and is smart.
3rd Round. Kelvin Sheppard ILB, LSU. He fits a need, played in the Senior Bowl, and visited OBD.
4th Round. Wright, Shareece CB, USC . Mcgee is old and MCkelvin is bad so fits a need, played in the Senior bowl with Galley.
4th Round from Seatle. Pinkston, Jason OT, Pittsburgh Played in Senior Bowl, played at Pitt for Wannstedt, three year start at LOT and fits a need.
I would say I would be happy with this draft. How about You!!

Buffalo selects Cam Jordan at #3....but is that really outrageous?

I've seen him rated as a mid to high 2nd round pick. He could last until the 3rd though.
