You make a good point here, but I would consider ditching Brooks for Thigpen or Steward/Tarpley. Still not a fan of keeping Cassel. Thanks!! I gave Goodwin the edge purely because he is always a home run threat. The defense HAS to respect him when he is on the field. There has been a lot of discussion about who will make the 53 man roster, and I have even questioned others about my concerns related to keeping 3 QB's. After much thought, I decided to "put my money where my mouth is," and use my 5,000th post to post my final 53. (2) QB: EJ Manuel, Tyrod Taylor * Yeah, I know....Matt Cassel is starting the first pre-season game. I don't care. IMO...he is not better than EJ or TT, and the thought of him being our starting QB gives me nightmares. Simms to the PS. I know I am going to take a lot of abuse for this. (4) RB: LeSean McCoy, Fred Jackson, Karlos Williams, Boobie Dixon * Bryce Brown fumbles too much. No shocker here to most. (1) FB: Jerome Felton (6) WR: Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin, Robert Woods, Marcus Easley, Chris Hogan, Marquise Goodwin * I went back and forth between Goodwin and Thigpen about a hundred times here, and I think they keep Goodwin ultimately. Who knows what other information might surface, when combined with the club owner's testimony, might make it challenging for the prosecution to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Kane raped this woman. With all due respect to you and Kirby, I'd be interested to see your final 53 with 3 QB's on the roster (2 with arguably very similar skill sets). Which valuable special teams contributors doesn't make it? Boobie? Thigpen? Butler? They're not going to be able to stash Williams or O'Leary on the PS. I'm just throwing this out there...those roster spots are quite valuable. Especially when Simms has PS eligibility. Again, JMO.

Anyone who supports Cassel being the starter needs to make the trip to SJF to watch practice. What Cassel possesses in terms of veteran experience is diminished (IMO) by his blatantly apparent ineptitude as a passer. His arm is done. Even if it is a close contest between he and EJ/Tyrod, I think Cassel loses out due to his lack of versatility. I agree with others in that Cassel will be playing for his roster spot on Friday, and I'm excited for others here to actually see him live.

Can anyone who was in attendance speak to anything other than the QB's? This thread is kind of dull. How did the offensive line look? Did Sammy even have a reception? How did the defense look? Where did the blitzes come from? How about our secondary? Any rookies/UDFA's shine? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
