The Aldi's here in my small town in Vermont sort of reminds me of Trader Joes. Great prices for good food. Cheap, but very decent beer and wine, a good selection of cheeses, and many seasonal specialty items. Most everything discounted to a fraction of what you would pay at a supermarket. I think it depends on the store though, because the one in my hometown (Auburn, NY) is disgusting.

I think I read somewhere that the winking owl won tastes tests over Charles Shaw wines. Anyway, isn't Aldi owned by the same people who own Trader Joes? It's probably the same stuff...different label. I agree, it isn't great if you are a real "wine person," but if you like 2 buck chuck then you will like the winking owl.
