Taurean Thompson will visit SU this weekend along with '16 commit Matt Moyer, and recruits Tucker, Diallo and Green. I have no supporting information for this, but I think we land Thompson after this weekend.

As far as I can tell, he isn't being recruited by any major programs yet. He is gaining some attention, however, and I'm surprised he hasn't received any looks from Syracuse as they have been out that way recruiting Kalif Young.

JB has decided to test the waters of retirement, but has elected not to hire a financial planner. Seriously though, I would guess that this "meeting" is related to Pearl's services. I was first thinking the news was related to Mali, but there is no way that news would not have been leaked by now.

So incredible. I was at that game. I was probably 5-6 years old, but I remember all the hype when Pearl signed with Syracuse. I want to say we weren't very good entering the season, but I believe we finally cracked the top 20 the week of that game. Probably one of the loudest moments I can remember in the Dome when he hit that shot.

So sad. The Pearl made so many of us fall in love with Syracuse Basketball. RIP

Columbia transfer Grant Mullins visited Cal yesterday, and will Michigan on Wednesday.

So, apparently Mullins' visit went very well. He will visit Cal tomorrow. I'm hearing that Stanford and Michigan are not pursuing him nearly as hard as Syracuse. JB wants this kid bad and is putting on the full court press. Who knows? This would be a good depth player for Syracuse. Can run the point and shoot the long ball.

Hmmm...perhaps he is not getting the interest he would like from those schools?

A little recruiting FWIW update. For those who haven't read my recruiting posts, I have a connection within the athletic dept who once in a while slides some little tid-bits my way. Disclaimer: sometimes these pan out and I am right, and sometimes I turn out to be wrong. College basketball recruiting is a crazy thing. It appears as though it's down to Yukon and Syracuse for 2016 PF Taurean Thompson. I thought for sure Kansas was going to pursue harder. He is taking an official visit to Storrs on Monday. Could be an announcement within the next couple weeks. I am hearing, from my guy on the hill, that Syracuse feels pretty good about their chances right now. If no Thompson, they have a solid backup plan in Dembele who has strong interest in Cuse. Cuse has cooled on Columbia transfer SG Grant Mullins. Apparently, he is looking to transfer to a school with the best business grad program, and it's looking like Stanford, Cal, and Michigan are all in the mix.

Yikes! A rare no from me. Forgive me for saying, but maybe the student involved was a little "special?"
