I also share your skepticism. Anthony Lynn has done well with what he has been given on offense, but I don't know if he's ready to be the guy in charge. Bradley is intriguing, but there is concern over what he did in Jacksonville. Although playing on their heels a lot, that defense grossly underachieved, IMHO. Hopefully Whaley and the Pegulas do their due diligence, and hire the right person...not the most "convenient" person.

Manhattans are like boobs. One's not enough, and three's too many. Cheers, man. Am I the only one who is happy to see 2016 go away? Tough year for me. -
Bills Distraction - Part II - CFB

I get where you're going here, and it makes sense to me, but I don't give a crap about college football. This will never happen, however, as the NCAA and the universities profit so much from their football and (to a lesser degree) basketball programs. It's not the same as college baseball because barely anyone cares about college baseball. There is no money in it. I'm stating the obvious here, I suppose. -

37 with a wife and 2 kids, 7 and 3. The bride and I usually go out for dinner and drinks, but both she and my daughter are sick with colds. We're going to cook some food, drink a grip of champagne, and probably play cards or something. Oh yeah, and I have a marijuana peanut butter cup that was given to me by an art teacher at one of the schools where I work. Things could get interesting. Happy new year everyone. -
Jeff Fisher for next DC

What....no. I was talking about Jeff Fisher dude. I think he's on the verge of a mental breakdown. -
Jeff Fisher for next DC
Johnny Hammersticks replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The dude seems like emotionally volatile or something. Like 2 shades away from going all Gary Busey. That said, I'd take Charles Manson as DC if he could give us a top 10 defense. -
UNC QB Mitch Trubisky
Johnny Hammersticks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His style of running will not be sustainable in the NFL. He runs like Frankenstein out there. Going to get himself killed. Good arm though. He can make all the big boy throws. I think he is a good prospect, but will be overdrafted by some desperate team in a crap QB class. -

Oops...missed that safety who was all over his RB in man coverage. Fooled by a disguised coverage. Bust. -

First Post Your response to the bolded "The only reason his numbers look somewhat decent is because he puts up crap stats when his team has fallen behind by multiple scores." mmmkay...
-
Wait, what? Your claim is that Tyrod Taylor is similar to Bortles because he only looks good on paper because he puts up stats in garbage time? Because he throws more when his team is playing from behind? How many games did Buffalo lose by more than 7 points this season? Yeah, two. I counted.

If no Tyrod Taylor, where do we go?
Johnny Hammersticks replied to KRT88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we're getting a lesser QB and a 3rd round pick? And how does that improve the QB position? Doesn't compute man. -

Trevor Siemian? You get all the accuracy issues with none of the athleticism. I'm not sure if you're being serious. -

I find a particular board member's absence from this thread, well...interesting. The only way I can see moving on from TT this year is if the staff feels that Cardale Jones is ready to take the reins. Otherwise, we won't be in a position to draft the only QB in this draft who is worth a crap...Trubisky. Watson is the other guy I like, but I wouldn't take him earlier than the 3rd and I don't see him as better than TT right away. No better options in FA than TT, IMO. -
Chris Beake could be worth a look for DC
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely a solid candidate given his experience, however, hasn't he spent most of his career coaching on the offensive side of the ball? I'd also like to throw out there, Adam Zimmer, LB'ers coach Vikings. Very well regarded around the league, experienced, and has the pedigree. Did an amazing job with Barr and Kendricks this year. -
Freudian Slip?? Here's why A-Lynn Spoke First
Johnny Hammersticks replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So your perception, if I am to understand correctly, is that it's not necessarily that NFL offenses have made the 3-4 "antiquated" or less effective. It is more about practice restrictions outlined by the CBA, in that, there is simply not enough practice time to correctly and sufficiently coach the 3-4? Indeed. Quality post...thanks. Although I'm still not 100% convinced that the OC was not in the room to weigh in on whether or not to start HIS starting QB. Whether his input was important to the "decision makers" or not, you think he would have been extended that courtesy. Especially if he is viewed as a potential piece of the puzzle moving forward; which I believe ALynn is. -
Freudian Slip?? Here's why A-Lynn Spoke First
Johnny Hammersticks replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you explain this a bit further? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I always thought that utilizing the 3-4 as the base defense gave the DC an advantage in terms of versatility. Linebackers that can either rush the passer, play the run, or drop into coverage. That is, of course, if the DC had the proper personnel. The Bills were clearly lacking a true NT for the scheme, and many have contended that Preston Brown was playing out of position as a 3-4 ILB. Also, not having competent safeties hurt us, but that would adversely impact any defense regardless of scheme. Not trying to defend Rex's 3-4 at all, but wondering why you think the scheme itself is somewhat antiquated. -

Tyrod Taylor - pick up the option

It's astounding that you actually needed to provide stats to support this idea. The collective IQ of TSW continues to plummet by the day. -
the Jim Leonhard of Rex's Bills defenses
Johnny Hammersticks replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losing AW killed the defense. Why losing one specific player had such an impact on Rex's defense is beyond me. -
Ah, I see your point now. Who knows with Boeheim? His practices are mysterious and many times don't make sense to me. I find DC2 frustrating to watch, personally. He's gotten better in the low post, but has the curious inability to rebound and go back up with it. It's maddening watching him get stripped by 5'7" white guys all game long.
