  1. Nice! Check out stinsonmellorlacrosseco and burnedbylax on EBay. Especially burnedbylax which has some great deals. I recently got a Maverik Centrik head custom strung for 40.00 including shipping. Great deal. Love me some EBay.
  2. My annoying, pseudo hipster brother in law falls into this category. He thinks he's superior to everyone else with his ironic glasses, flannel shirts, beard, and multiple uses for mason jars. At family get togethers, there is typically a hand full of us who are congregated around a television watching some type of sporting event. His "I don't follow sports because they're not hipster enough" attitude is really annoying. Just go make some fancy French press coffee and leave us men alone, bub.
  3. I'm with you 100% about the "court storming." You storm the court when you're Sienna and you beat Duke at home. Something like that. You have to admit, however, that VCU won for reasons that had nothing to do with the players on the court or the coaches. VCU should have lost that game. A win is a win, but....just sayin.
  4. We bought Falcons balloons today at price chopper...lol. Wait, is that bad ju-ju?
  5. Chicken wings. Traditional hot and old bay seasoning for the kids. Seared Ahi Tuna lettuce wraps with sriracha mayo and wasabi (julienne daikon, carrots, jalapeños, and quick pickled red onions for toppings). Assorted dips and chips. Rice crispy treat cake with double fudge frosting. For beverages...Labatt Blue, Fiddlehead IPA, Stowe Cider, vodka and tequila, and about 30 very strong Jell-O shots. Go Falcons!!
  6. Agreed. Something like this, where the players or coaches are not at fault, should never impact the outcome of a game. Piss poor call by the refs, IMHO. Total screwjob.
  7. I can't even imagine. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
  8. I don't want to jinx us, but I think we are in relatively decent shape IF we beat one of Duke or Louisville and go 2/3 against Ga Tech, Clemson and Pitt. Our kenpom before this win was 53. Agreed about Tyus. I've been screaming since November....put Tyus out there and give him the green light. He is the best athlete on the court at times. Also, he's typically a good FT shooter. The high-low nonsense is very frustrating. Taurean is just not there yet defensively, and Robey is infuriatingly inconsistent. Virginia not having a solid offensive center hurt them badly today.
  9. We'll trade you Frank Howard. He's pretty tall for a guard. We can get the deal done right now for a bag of used basketballs.
  10. Yes, I agree this did allow them to extend the zone and get out on Virginia's shooters more. Also allowed JB to give Thompson more minutes which is good. Great second half. With a team that relies so heavily on the long ball, we are going to have shooting slumps like we saw there in the first half. Great adjustment at the half by JB, as they came out and attacked the rim with Battle and Gillon. Jimmy's interview post game was special. It was a great moment for him and this program. I got just a little choked up when he was talking about being there for 1000 wins. Total NCAA screwjob.
  11. I've lived in the south...I guess if you consider Charlotte the south (seems like there were almost as many yanks down there as southerners). But people in general seemed to be nicer and more down to earth. Beer snobbery, especially amongst the "craft beer" crowd is a very real thing, IMO. Maybe it's amplified a bit here in Vermont because there is a brewery around every corner. What is sour? Sounds interesting.
  12. Oh my goodness! Dawn of the dead casting call?
  13. Not surprising. I have had similar, snobby experiences at some of these small-batch breweries here in Vermont. It's a thing, apparently.
  14. Hill Farmstead Brewery, up near Burlington, is awarded world's best brewery for the third consecutive year. This is the first I've heard of it. Gonna have to visit their tap room soon. http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/life/food/2017/02/03/three-peat-win-hill-farmstead-worlds-best/97444378/
  15. Who cares? Is there still a bikini bowl?
  16. They have booze and drugs in both Boston and Atlanta.
  17. Are the drugs gluten free?
  18. This team lives or dies with John Gillon. That much has become apparent. What's most impressive about his 43 point performance is the 9/10 from 3 point range. I know Gmac, Cooney, Rautins and Southerland (maybe others I can't think of) have hit 9 3's in a game, but I don't recall any player shooting 9/10 from outside. Remarkable. Did it surprise anyone else that NC State continued to maneuver below the screen at the top of the arc allowing loads of open outside shots? You'd have thought coach would have made some adjustments to get out on the shooters better. Unsung hero in this game was AW3 scoring 27 points and was a monster on defense.
  19. I think all of our "suckometers" are extra sensitive right now. I was expecting a collapse there for a minute.
  20. Showed good resilience there in the 2nd half. Solid top 100 road win for the resume. Keep rolling.
  21. Bread the wings with what? I'm a slave to rice and tapioca flour these days due to the gluten thingy. Sounds good though. Soy or teriyaki based? What else in there?
  22. [private message to Augie] Want to make a deal? Kill each other's wives? Let me know...I want pizza [private message to Augie]
