  1. Yes, I agree this did allow them to extend the zone and get out on Virginia's shooters more. Also allowed JB to give Thompson more minutes which is good. Great second half. With a team that relies so heavily on the long ball, we are going to have shooting slumps like we saw there in the first half. Great adjustment at the half by JB, as they came out and attacked the rim with Battle and Gillon. Jimmy's interview post game was special. It was a great moment for him and this program. I got just a little choked up when he was talking about being there for 1000 wins. Total NCAA screwjob.
  2. I've lived in the south...I guess if you consider Charlotte the south (seems like there were almost as many yanks down there as southerners). But people in general seemed to be nicer and more down to earth. Beer snobbery, especially amongst the "craft beer" crowd is a very real thing, IMO. Maybe it's amplified a bit here in Vermont because there is a brewery around every corner. What is sour? Sounds interesting.
  3. Oh my goodness! Dawn of the dead casting call?
  4. Not surprising. I have had similar, snobby experiences at some of these small-batch breweries here in Vermont. It's a thing, apparently.
  5. Hill Farmstead Brewery, up near Burlington, is awarded world's best brewery for the third consecutive year. This is the first I've heard of it. Gonna have to visit their tap room soon. http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/life/food/2017/02/03/three-peat-win-hill-farmstead-worlds-best/97444378/
  6. Who cares? Is there still a bikini bowl?
  7. They have booze and drugs in both Boston and Atlanta.
  8. Are the drugs gluten free?
  9. This team lives or dies with John Gillon. That much has become apparent. What's most impressive about his 43 point performance is the 9/10 from 3 point range. I know Gmac, Cooney, Rautins and Southerland (maybe others I can't think of) have hit 9 3's in a game, but I don't recall any player shooting 9/10 from outside. Remarkable. Did it surprise anyone else that NC State continued to maneuver below the screen at the top of the arc allowing loads of open outside shots? You'd have thought coach would have made some adjustments to get out on the shooters better. Unsung hero in this game was AW3 scoring 27 points and was a monster on defense.
  10. I think all of our "suckometers" are extra sensitive right now. I was expecting a collapse there for a minute.
  11. Showed good resilience there in the 2nd half. Solid top 100 road win for the resume. Keep rolling.
  12. Bread the wings with what? I'm a slave to rice and tapioca flour these days due to the gluten thingy. Sounds good though. Soy or teriyaki based? What else in there?
  13. [private message to Augie] Want to make a deal? Kill each other's wives? Let me know...I want pizza [private message to Augie]
  14. Lifesavers holes! Whatever happened to these, and where was I when they disappeared. I scoured the candy aisle of 2 supermarkets, as I wanted to put some in my kids' Christmas stockings. No luck.
  15. I'm going to do wings again this year, per usual. I usually make my traditional "hot" sauce with Franks and some other stuff, and my kids really like wings with old bay seasoning. Last year I did some honey & garlic that went over pretty well. I'm thinking about trying something new this year. Any fun ideas for wing flavors?
  16. Really? Wow. I guess it was a mistake taking him in my fanspeak mock yesterday...lol.
  17. Daniel Carlson from Auburn seems to be the consensus best kicker in the draft. IIRC, he also handled kickoff and punting duties for a bit. Everything I have seen has him in the 4-6 round range, but who knows?
  18. We tried one this past weekend. It was disgusting. My wife thought that she could tolerate the cheese. She was up all night.
  19. I have been doing research, and there seems to be a legitimate biological etiology to Celiac Disease. Care to elaborate? Sorry for hijacking the SB food thread, BTW.
  20. My wife has been pretty good about allowing me and the kids to have pasta and bread occasionally, as she will will just substitute gluten free pasta and bread. The really hard thing for me is no pizza. I really miss the occasional friday night pie, and I wouldn't dare eat it in front of her. We went to a burger joint in Burlington last weekend with a bunch of hockey families after my son's game, and it was sad watching my wife eat her cheeseless meat patties with a knife and fork. It has been tough. It's all the things (e.g., seasonings, sauces, etc...) that you don't think about. Meat and veggies, meat and veggies, meat and veggies.
  21. My wife recently "discovered" that she has sensitivities to gluten and dairy, and has cut both out of her diet. Which of course means that they are pretty much cut out of my diet as well. Two of my favorite things
  22. No chance, IMO. The kid was widely considered a top 10 pick a day ago, and should be ready to go by TC. This is not a Myles Jack type situation.
  23. Classless piece of trash. But we already knew this...didn't we?
