Come move to New York!
Johnny Hammersticks replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Thanks for the advice, but I don't need any advice. I care about all humans, bub. It's convenient for you to falsely assume that I'm some sort of bleeding heart liberal. I never said that this whole thing was perfect. I said it's a step in the right direction. I think if they are to do this it should be available to all individuals regardless of SES. I also think that there should be reasonable admission requirements for this. Not everyone is meant to go to college. And by the way, I worked almost full-time during high school, and I was a 3 sport athlete. I started delivering newspapers when I was 12, and got my first job washing dishes on my 14th birthday. Neither of my parents went to college. Blue collar, hard working type folks that didn't understand the importance of saving for their child's education. I also worked nearly full-time during college to pay for as much of my tuition as possible. I worked my a$$ of...never had anything handed to me. I never claimed to be holier than thou, or wealthy by any means. My wife and I both make a decent salary. We live very modestly, and we save as much money as we can. Hell, I still drive a beat up 2009 Subaru. I'd be happy to buy you a beer or two if we ever meet though I never even intimated that you were "anti-human" or anything of the sort. I merely stated that "I care about humans" because I am willing to pay a little more in taxes to support programs like this. I never stated that you don't care about people, and quite honestly, I don't know you well enough to be able to make any assumptions about your values and beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as I have stated, there are parts of this that I do not agree with....just like you. A step in the right direction, Boyst. -
Come move to New York!

Hey, it's a step in the right direction. Coming from someone who paid their own way through college and earned a doctoral degree (Psy.D.), my student loan payment is well more than my mortgage every month. I would have mopped floors at Wegmans for 4 years after my post-grad graduation if it meant that I could cut that debt in half. My wife and I make too much money, so IF we lived in NY, my kids would likely not benefit from this. I still would support this, however, as I care about other humans. -

I don't understand your post. Are you in favor of, or opposed to, a free college education at New York's state universities and junior colleges? -

What a tease... I'm feeling Cuse/Ga Tech at 50/50 right now. He's scheduled to visit Oregon as well, but they are not believed to be in contention. He probably just wants to pose in all that Oregon Nike swag. I'm also hearing that we are out on 2017 SG Chris Duarte. Boeheim is moving on.

Last night we made fish tacos. Mahi Mahi and Cod. Cilantro, shredded cabbage some quick pickled red onions, and my wife made some kinda sauce to go on them. Pretty good. My wife drank wine. I had some lime-aid. I allow myself a couple drinks on the weekends, but I was feeling a little dehydrated. Had some "loose" bowel movements. My wife wanted to play Wii Jeopardy, but I wasn't feeling that. We worked on a puzzle for a little while, but then I got bored. My wife kicked me out of bed because I was talking in my sleep. I slept in the guest room, but I don't mind because the mattress is reallly comfortable. Soft pillow top.

Do you use Facebook or Instagram?

Yeah, the man gets 9 months of pure wedded joy. My wife, love her to pieces, turned into a fire breathing Gila Monster during her pregnancies. -

During the election my wife and my sister had to block my mother on Facebook. It was actually a really big deal, and feelings were hurt. My Mom is a staunch conservative and a Trump supporter, and she was posting all this awful, hate-filled Trump propaganda stuff. Some of it was very graphic and disturbing (abortion stuff), and other stuff was downright racist. I think they're all "friends" again now, but it was pretty ugly for a while there. I just laughed at how ridiculous they all were being. Another weird Facebook thing...and please tell me if anyone has heard of this...my wife kept showing me pictures of her friends who had just given birth with their "push presents" from their husbands. She showed me a few. One girl got a brand new Audi, another got a huge diamond ring, and another got plane tickets for her and her sister to go to Hawaii or something. Is this really a thing? Push presents? Jeebus... -

Recent personal visit from Jim Boeheim, promptly schedules official visit to Syracuse, posts this on his twitter feed. Yeah, things are looking promising with the Tucker recruitment. Too bad the weather is going to be so crappy for his visit. Georgia Tech will get his last official unless (crossing my fingers) he commits to SU first.

I'm so done with this team. -
I get all my news from Facebook. I don't trust those liberal, hashish smoking liars on CNN.

Jordan Tucker would be a huge commit. Long, athletic small forward with a great perimeter shot. Can get to the rim and shoot off the bounce. I hear GT is the favorite, Cuse 2nd, Oregon and Nova are long shots. I think we have a puncher's chance of landing him if his visit goes well (keep him away from Frank Howard). I'm excited about Allen Griffin joining the staff. I always liked him as a player, and he has 5 solid years of coaching experience. Nice to bring those Cuse guys back. I hear his primary responsibility is going to be working with the big fellas. Interesting. Another tid-bit I read today is that red-shirt sophomore SF, Matthew Moyer, has put 20 pounds on his frame and is down to 4% body fat. GMac says he has been busting his balls in the weight room, and has really improved his shot. I think he will surprise next season. Now we just need to land a 2017 combo guard, or SG. Hopefully, Eric Ayala reclassified to '17 and picks Cuse.

Just borrowing your shower!
Johnny Hammersticks replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yeah, I believe he was in his mid-20's. He was taken away in an ambulance a few times while he was living across the street. I'm assuming for heroin OD. He finally lost the battle. Sad stuff. -
