Buffalonians vs New Yorkers

I can't believe some of you are trying to diss NYC girls. Puhlease.... -

Watched Amy's Netflix special last week, and I thought she was really funny. Seems to have strayed away from that whole "I sleep with a ton of guys" routine. But I can see why a lot of people don't connect with her style of humor. -

I texted my BIL who lives in Dover, NH, and he says Black Trumpet Bistro is his favorite restaurant in Portsmouth, FWIW. He's in medical sales, and often takes doctors/hospital administrators out to dinner. Says this is his go-to when working close to home if he really wants to impress a client. Heard of this place, PTR? I also second the Ri Ra Irish Pub recommendation. I've been to locations in Burlington and Charlotte, NC. Excellent Irish food, great beer selection, and cool atmosphere/decor. Makes you feel like you're in a pub in Dublin. -

I'm certainly not an expert on Portsmouth, but I have been there a couple times. Once for a lunch pit stop on the way to Wells Beach, and once for dinner. I wouldn't recommend the place we went for lunch...wasn't anything spectacular. The restaurant we went to for dinner was very, very good though. Fresh seafood, creative menu, great raw bar. http://surfseafood.com/menu/portsmouth/ I'm sure others have more Portsmouth expertise than I. It really is a neat little city. Enjoy. -
We've already hashed this out in the shoutbox, Boyst. Let it go with your Tso conspiracies. Have some respect.

The kids and I still eat gluten from time to time, and we usually get a pizza on Friday nights. My wife has become increasingly willing/able to modify her meal or just eat something else. The real challenge is when we go out for dinner. We went out to a nice French restaurant for our anniversary a couple weeks ago, and there was like 4 things on the menu she could eat and everything needed to be modified.

Seriously. You pay the 300K to fix the foundation, and then wait for the rest of the house to slide down the hill?

Agreed. Although pre Little Nicky there were a few good Sandler movies. I know I might catch some heat for this, but I haven't seen Will Farrell do anything funny since Old School. -

Never liked Carlos. Also, Chelsea Handler is not funny to me. My wife loves her, but I think she is repugnant and dumb. -
It is quite perplexing. A year ago, we were consuming a whole lot of gluten in my household. Loads of pasta and bread and everyone was doing just fine. Within a matter of weeks, my wife was up literally almost all night, every night with "gastro issues." She lost an unhealthy amount of weight, and she also began developing these dry, patchy skin irritations. One was on the side of her head and made her hair fall out. She was (not shockingly) developing depressive and anxious symptoms. She must have seen 9 or 10 different doctors, was in therapy, and was finally diagnosed with Celiac. We immediately cut all gluten from our diet, and eventually had to cut out dairy as well for some reason. I never would say anything to her, but I was skeptical about the whole thing because she was seeing a couple homeopathic doctors. Within a couple weeks of the dietary changes, however, her health started to improve significantly and her hair grew right back. Weird stuff.

Do you agree with Frank Martin's quote?

Yes. A lot of good stuff here. I like the part about being honest and "you tell me before I hear from someone else." I think I might use that one. -

Jeebus! Some of you sound like you even enjoy smacking your kids around...lol. My son is almost 8 and he got one spanking when he was about 4. One smack on the butt did the trick, and I remember feeling horrible about it at the time. The thing is, he never before and never since needed to be spanked. He's a good kid. I'm a firm believer in not going to the spanking thing too often, and only under extreme circumstances. If you spank too frequently kids become accustomed to it and the consequence loses value, IMO. My 4 year old daughter, on the other hand, has been on the receiving end of 5 or 6 spankings already. She's well mannered and behaves herself for the most part, but she has a little bit of an evil streak to her. She's just like my wife. -

What's Chinese about it? Running around your car like idiots at a stop light? I wonder what one General Tso would have to say about this? His chicken is delicious. You strike me as a "life of the party" type of person. Amarite?

She did make a purchase that I find to be somewhat bizarre. Checking account summary indicated that she paid $178.94 to ACME Co. for "bulk wrenches and screwdrivers." You might be onto something... -
Just finished Bloodline S3 and it was torture to watch. My wife made me watch until the end. The second to last episode was trash, and the finale was pointless and meandering. I think I'm done with that show if they do S4. I have House of Cards S5 in the chamber, but I'm reluctant to start it. Just so overwhelmed with all the political ridiculousness lately. Looking for something lighter maybe. Shameless S7 was pretty good. William H. Macy is starting to carry that show to some extent, but it's still pretty funny.

This clip was on Tosh.0 this week. Daniel Tosh is a Dolphins fan. Pretty funny stuff when the dude rolls over to reveal a 'phins t-shirt. See, Bills fans aren't the only ones to do stupid things.

Great topic! I imagine we all were little rascals at some point in our lives, regardless of our culture or background. "Run, Johnny, Run". Haha. Oh, the things we used to do back in the day in the hood. Around Christmas time we would steal one light bulb from people's Christmas lights so the whole strand would go out. We called that game "t'was the night before Christmas and yo &$@ is diggin around in the snow for tiny light bulbs." The knocking on doors and running one...well I know what my white friends called it, but of course I won't post that. It's offensive. My MawMaw called the game "The postman always rings twice, but the meter man only knocks once and run off cause he just shut off the damn lights." Oh, MawMaw...bless her heart.

Uhh, I think she may have wanted your life insurance policy. Do you find random small appliances plugged in and positioned on the edge of your bathtub? Does your car's brakes fail frequently? -

Obviously you don't understand women, so I'll help you out pal. She doesn't want to go sky diving! She's 36...would probably disclocate her hip on he way down! She wants to go ski diving with ME because it would be fun and special... Women. -

Oh, hell no.... My wife wants me to do a jump with her so badly. Tells me her boyfriend in college promised to take her, but they broke up before they could go. I tell her she should have stayed with him.
