  1. That’s “the look” these days ?? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone that looked like him before...
  2. First time in years I haven’t cooked thanksgiving dinner. We’re going to my MIL’s this year, and she is not a very good cook. I’m not looking forward to dinner, but I am looking forward to kicking back, drinking lots of beer, and watching football all day.
  3. Yikes...wish I didn’t watch that video. Requiem for a Dream type schitt...
  4. Caribou is by far my favorite game meat. My father bagged 2 of them up in Saskatchewan back in the day. Kept me fed for about 6 months during grad school.
  5. So true... I collaborate with a local mental health agency that my school district contracts with to provide substance abuse prevention/treatment services to our students. I would estimate that close to 95% of our students who are being treated for heroin addiction disclosed in their intake interview that they got their start with opioid pain medication and moved on to heroin because it was cheaper and more readily available. We lost 2 students to heroin overdose already just during this school year. One of which was a varsity hockey player who became addicted after receiving copious amounts of Hydrocodone (his physician is under investigation) to treat a minor back injury. He was also an assistant coach/volunteer for my son’s mite hockey team. Took my son to his funeral two weeks ago to say goodbye. Horrifying.
  6. True, but at this point would you rather have your QB described as “gunslinger” or a “game manager?” I’ll take the former just as a change of pace.
  7. Chukwu has clearly improved from last year, IMO. His footwork and defense are markedly better. Sidibe is a frosh, and is clearly our best center already. I think he will be a good one. Actually reminds me of a young Rick Jackson. Too bad Bernie isn’t around to coach up the big fellas
  8. I have 2... Silverware scraping on a plate, and recently, leaf blowers at sunrise. Every freaking day this week!
  9. Tough to narrow it down, but I’d have to say Denzel Washington would be near the top along with Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn, and Robin Williams. My personal favorites. Actresses I like are Julianne Moore, Kathy Bates, Natalie Portman, Penelope Cruz, and Charlize Theron.
  10. I love me some Tyrod Taylor, but this is clearly the right move for the franchise. Hats off to McBeane for having the sack to make this move. He certainly is a class act, and I think he still has a solid career ahead of him (although likely as a placeholder or a backup). I make it a point to bring my son (7 years old) to at least one training camp session each year. Not this past summer but the one before, I brought him to an afternoon session. Every year he has gotten at least a few autographs. Well this time when the horn sounded to end practice, the whole team ran up the tunnel and to the locker room. The only player who stayed to sign autographs was Tyrod. There were probably 150 people there waiting for an autograph, and he stayed until each and every one of those people got an autograph, a hand shake, a picture...whatever. He even ran over to mid-field to grab his gloves out of his helmet, and gave them to a disabled young man who was patiently waiting in his wheel chair. He earned my unconditional respect on that day. I wish him the best.
  11. Pure Leaf unsweetened black tea. Love it. One of the best things in my life right now.
  12. Venison farts are lethal. Especially when you throw a few beers into the equation. I don’t hunt anymore, but a lot of my friends are getting deer right now so we have been given a bunch of meat. I like the steaks best marinated with some soy, ginger and garlic. You really have to be careful to not over-cook it.
  13. Nice win tonight over a feisty and talented Iona squad. Once again Tyus Battle dominates. He really is going to be something special this year, and I’d be surprised to see him return for his junior year. Nice showings by Howard, Brissett and Dolezaj. Dolezaj just has “it.” He will be a force once he develops physically. Love the twin towers of Chukwu and Sidibe in the middle. Chukwu with 10 boards. I’m not overly optimistic, but I’m feeling better about this team.
  14. ...and how many times did the Bills punt? Further, how many times did the Bills offense go 3 and out? Our defense has not looked good...I don’t think anyone is arguing that. It doesn’t help their cause, however, when the offense can’t get a freakin first down. I think that is the central point of the OP.
  15. I think there may be some truth to the OP. I don’t believe any of the Bills, Phins or Broncos’ defenses are as bad as they look on paper. Tough holding up on defense when your offense can’t move the ball, and you are on the field for almost the entire game. A defense’s best friend, IMO, is an offense that can produce sustained drives, eat up clock, and hopefully put points on the board.
  16. Indeed.... Pitino’s face looks like a candle that has been too close to the camp fire.
  17. Watching Mitch McConnell's face slowly slide off his skull.
  18. Oops! Maybe Niagara is #1 now?
  19. I guess what I had in mind was Hyde sort of "spying" Kamara and helping out the LB'ers, as needed. Based on what I've seen, none of the LB'ers are equipped to cover Kamara. It's kind of a pick your poison type of thing I suppose. I agree with a previous post that we will likely see a lot more man to man coverage tomorrow with either Gaines or Tre White with safety help over the top. Hyde playing closer to the LOS.
  20. Maybe the best of our current LB'ers, but if they rely on Milano to shut down Kamara in the pass game we're toast. Has to be a combination of LB'er Safety coverage.
  21. I forgot to mention Dolezaj! Oh my, he looks like a 15 year old kid out there, but I think he is going to be very, very good for us. He just seems to be in the right place all the time. High basketball IQ kid. I think he will push Moyer for minutes off the bench in a hurry. I understand that he is a pretty solid shooter as well, but is reluctant to shoot much while he gets his feet wet. Give him a year in the strength and conditioning program and watch out!
  22. Picked up a growler of Rock Art (Morrisville, VT) 50 State Porter last night to enjoy with my steak dinner. I've been on a dark beer kick lately. Seems to be my pattern in the fall until I get tired of it. Drank a couple tall boys of Heart of Lothian Scottish Ale after work yesterday with a neighbor friend. Great little brewery in Middlebury, VT. Relatively low ABV (I think 5.2) beer that has a nice, full flavor but you can drink all day if you wanted to.
  23. They looked better than I had anticipated. I really like Sidibe in the middle. Great recruiting job by GMac to reel him in. He's gonna be a good center for years to come. Battle is gonna be Battle. He's our best player by far, and it looks like he put on 20 pounds of muscle. I'm concerned about scoring, but I think we way be able to put something together between Howard, Brissett and Thorpe. Brissett seems to have tons of potential, and Thorpe can really take it to the hoop. The zone looked pretty darn good. Moved well for this stage in the season with a lot of new players. Not a bad start against a very mediocre Ivy League team. How bout Cal getting stomped and Pitt going down to Navy?
  24. Bwahahahaha!!! Get real...
