Don’t come into my thread and push me around, pal. If I have cake I better damned we’ll be eating it too. What? Would someone come and take my cake away? I’d like to see them try. Well, I’d like to see them try unless they were really strong and tough. Then I’d just let them take my cake. Why the hell do people say that?

Story of my life, brother.... ? Although I used to work for a landscaper and had to cut lawns occasionally, and the ones I hated to cut the most were those Chem-lawn lawns. The grass was almost too thick, and it was really hard to make it look nice for some reason. Also, it seemed to be high maintainance in that it needed to be watered a ton.

I live in central Vermont near Middlebury. Yeesh, thank you for all the great suggestions, but this seems like a lot more work than I had anticipated ? First of all, my wife and I don’t work from late June until late August, and we travel a lot in the summer, so daily watering is out of the question. We get a good bit of rain here during the summer, however, and if we ever get a long stretch of dry weather I usually am good about breaking out the sprinklers. I think I’m looking for something like what Gugny suggested, but sounds like I need to spread the weed killer like tomorrow, as the ground is beginning to thaw. Couple other products suggested here that I will look into. Thanks all...

I spent a bunch of money last summer having the lawn re-done in my backyard. The previous owners had 3 huge dogs that dug giant holes all over the place, and there was a 6’x6’ hole where a shed used to be. Anyway, I successfully grew a nice lawn back there last summer after it was excavated. I’ve never taken much care of my lawn before, but I’d like to put more effort in this spring/summer. What do you “lawn guys” do to your grass in the spring? I’ve heard of weed and feed. What else do you use? I have a bunch of weeds in my front lawn that I’d like to be rid of. Any recommendations for products? Weed killer...fertilizer? Should I re-seed the entire lawn? Anything else that would make my lawn look better? Also, when do you all start this process? Is it too early now? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

This thread is really funny to me...

Ommegang has some great beers. Also a terrific live music venue (with camping) just outside of Cooperstown. Saw the Avett Brothers there a couple years ago.

Hey man...it’s all about damage control now. We need depth. We aren’t landing any 2018 4-5 * recruits at this stage in the game. Majak would be a good insurance policy if Sidibe’s health continues to be an issue. Policelli is a 3* kid probably comparable to Matt Moyer. Maybe a little better offensively. I feel like you and I should just talk on the phone ?

Yes. Graduated in December. Frankie Policelli (SF) and Majur Majak (C) are also 2018 uncommitted players linked to Syracuse that could provide depth. I heard they were going hard after Majak, and I suspect they will pursue Policelli as well.

Trey Porter is a redshirt junior PF transfer from Old Dominion who would be immediately eligible. I think he should be on the top of their list. Great defensive player/rebounder whose offensive game made tremendous strides this year. Was his conference’s most improved player this year. There also is the overseas option and the JUCO option.
-
Absolutely! If Battle and Brissett both stay I think we will be okay. More than likely will be in the grad transfer market as well. I’m trying not to panic until I absolutely have to.
-
I heard from a friend who works in the athletic department that he was likely going to be academically ineligible, and that is why he made this decision.

No, I think you’re misunderstanding me. That coaching staff had no idea. I’m suggesting that him reporting that he had been thinking about doing this for a long time is pure BS. Again, I don’t know for certain, but I think he’s now trying to save face.
-
I read this also, and this makes his decision all the more head-scratching. I feel like there are only 2 possible scenarios here. Either he was not going to be eligible and the g league was his only option, or he stupidly made this decision based on promises of large sums of money (“loans”) from an agent. Could be that scenario A led to scenario B. Smokescreen ? Much easier to say it was his choice, rather than admitting that he was ineligible.
-
I haven’t heard any accounts that he made up his mind to do this a while ago. Where did you hear/see this? I know the media pundits are portraying him as a trailblazer, and it may turn out that way coincidentally, but I’m hearing that he was all-in on Cuse up until recently. Seems a bit odd to me, and certainly seems to support what my guy is saying about eligibility issues forcing his hand. Who knows? I completely agree with you that he gave the Cuse coaching staff the ultimate bag over the head punch in the face. I’m pissed, and I can’t imagine how the coaches feel. I hope in the future that NBA GM’s/coaches consider his actions as they relate to his character (maturity, loyalty, etc...).
-
I think he really wanted to play at ‘cuse. I don’t think he was going to be eligible, and made this decision to save face. Make it appear as though he willingly chose a year of the g-league over major college basketball.

If Baker Mayfield was facing the death penalty via lethal injection, what would he want his last meal to be? I say good cast iron pan fried chicken, his grandma’s macaroni and cheese, and grilled polenta with a roasted garlic, basil aioli. Carrot cake for dessert. Thoughts?
