    As much as this thread highlights the cultural changes that Beane/McD brought to the organization (thanks OP), it also illustrates just how poor of a coach Rex Ryan was in that regard. The proverbial inmates were certainly running the asylum during Rex's tenure. Yuck....

    Agree with all of this. Having a tall, athletic MLB to use in tandem with a CB/S such as Tre White is going to give McD/Frazier a great deal more flexibility in neutralizing guys like Gronkowski/Kelce/Graham.

    Indeed. Yeah, Tre was all over him like flies on a fresh turd. Maybe the best coverage job on Gronk I've ever witnessed.

    I believe this to be true. Unless SL comes to camp and completely sucks, he at the very least provides decent depth at a critical position, and is still relatively cheap on his rookie deal. Given Murphy's injury history, I think it would be foolish to trade Shaq unless some team offered something ridiculous.

    Agreed. In fact, current comments from Beane have suggested that Beane and McD have been satisfied with how SL has responded to their “demands” related to dropping some weight and physical conditioning in general. That said, I could see them moving him for the right compensation.
